No. I've given you your answer. Buy from an un-official source, and you take your chances. And yes, if your phone was hacked to unlock it(common from un-official sources), it will be locked back to the carrier it was originally locked to if you update software or restore the phone.

Is there any way by which I can not use Thunar Sys Tray icon?

I am using stalonetray in OpenBox in Arch and when I copy-paste or cut-paste files in Thunar, a sys tray icon pops up. I don't want it to pop up.

Are you sure this isn't some other tool, like a clipboard manager? Are their any tooltip popups or menus available on the tray icon and/or what happens when you click the icon?
No. I use only Thunar. When I hover on the icon it says that "1 file operation running" when a copy-paste or cut-paste operation happens and when I left click and right click on it, it shows the copying window of thunar. The icon shows two small yellow folders placed diagonally. It's the same icon that appears on the file operation progress window of Thunar. I don't know whether Numix has anything to do with the specific icon though.

in edit mode,display mode

No, downgrading from any version of iOS to an earlier version is not supported.

Well, it is a requirement in the UK that they be sold unlocked. If you remember when the iPhone was first launched in the UK, all the phones were carrier locked to 02 in an exclusive deal and then they became unlocked when Vodafone, 3 and Orange etc, started to be able to offer the iPhone.
Unfortunately, the US is different, but there are 3 carrier to choose from now with AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. For a few years it was only AT&T. Just works differently out there, depending on networks and agreements with the phone carriers.

In message settings, disable the send as SMS setting. That does mean any message sent to a non-iMessage enabled device will just not get sent.

Because I have imported from a number of different sources into Aperture (3.2) over the years, I now have many duplicates in my library. Is there any way in which these can be identified and lated deleted?

Because I have imported photos from a number of different sources into Aperture (3.2), I now have many unwanted duplicates. Some of these are in the same "file/folder", others are not. Additionally, some of the duplicates may have different file names.
Can anyone advise me if there is a way of identifying such duplicates in Aperture so that I may later delete them? If this cannot be achieved within Aperture 3, does anyone know of a proven second-party app?
Before ending I should mention that I am reasonable competent on a computer but I am not in any way an expert. (So simple answers would be appreciated if this is possible!)

Jeremy -- I suggest making a complete separate copy of your Library and any Referenced Masters and keeping it for a year. "Duplicate" is, to humans, relative rather than absolute. My use of Duplicate Annihilator turned up many useful near duplicates, most of which I couldn't quickly distinguish. With a complete copy nearby, you can be slightly aggressive in your pruning, knowing that should you turn up something in ten months that you need (as an example: the full-size color file for a black & white printed shot that you thought was based on a full-size color Master but which is not), you'll have it.
IME, it was much more effective to get rid of things I didn't need, than to figure out which of several possible duplicates of an Image I did need.

I upgraded to ios7 today not particularly knowing what it was and having not really paid much attention to tech news (I'm in PhD program in history, so current events sometimes escape my notice. I personally find the new user interface with its arbitrarily changed tacky flat design utterly ghastly. I may have disturbed my neighbors with my screaming. The icons no longer match my computer, and heaven forfend some future OSX will will make my computer match them. Generally the whole thing looks much more like some budget cell phone I would get free with my cellular plan. I have owned five apple computers, three ipods, and iPad mini and two iPhones and this is the first time I have ever regretted an upgrade, or seriously considered ending my affiliation with the companies products, as, fairly or unfairly, I feel like the user interface I knew and was accustomed to as been stolen from me out of naught but corporate hubris. Sheer familiarity has been one of the cornerstone of my love for apple products, and while they have changed often over the years, it has previously never seemed so radical, save in original switch to OSX which it seems to me was both a much more gradual process and a more aethetically pleasing change.
I've had an iPhone since 2010, this is the first time I've really been unhappy with it. Can I rid my phone of this accursed ios7? If not how do I revert the UI as much as possible? Can I even just get the old icons back?

In the beginning of the winter beware of Mavericks, it will make an end to your dream.
You can alleviate your fall forward a little bit in the Settings/General/Acessibility, but just a very little bit.
