Is there a way of Apple increasing my memory and processors?

Is there a way of Apple increasing my memory and processors so that my 2010 MacBook will run faster? I use 3D programs and filmmaking editing software, and my laptop, as awesome as it is, can't quite keep up with what I do. The programs I am using:
Blender (Open source 3D software)
Final Cut Express
iMovie '09 (usually editing off an external hard drive)
I make most of my films in HD too.
I heard that you can manually replace the RAM and stuff, but Im not too keen on it. Being me, I might brake something. But does anyone know of a safe and secure place to buy extra RAM and memory and processors for a 2010 MacBook.

The only way to upgrade processors is to buy a new Mac. In your case a MacBook Pro would be more appropriate for the tasks you're undertaking.
Your MacBook will only take a maximum of 4GB RAM.
In addition to etresoft's recommendation, Crucial Memory is reliable and equally good service. I think this is the RAM for your model, but to be on the safe side, use the "scan my system" option to getthe exact match.

  • HT4623 Is there any way I can increase my memory without deleting stuff?

Is there any way I can increase the memory on my iPhone 4 without deleting stuff?  eg by purchasing extra memory?

No, there isn't. The amount of storage on an iPhone is fixed and cannot be increased. Your only options are to either delete stuff or purchase an iPhone with larger capacity.

  • Is there a way for apple to track down which apple id is currently associated to a device?

Hi! My iphone 4s was pick pocketed from me last night. I have FindMyIPhone installed on that device but unfortunately i forgot to turn on my location settings so i wasn't able to track down the culprit via GPS. I already contacted my provider to see if there's anything they could do about it, but i was informed they could only temporarily disconnect my service. I'm planning to have my phone blocked using its IMEI so that the thief could no longer use the phone and would otherwise be forced to have it fixed in istore or something. But my experiences here in our country (PHILIPPINES) makes me think i shouldn't be relying on the officials. Every year, the cases of stolen phones just rise up. And not anyone from the government is even doing a thing about this criminals.
Anyway, going back to my main concern, my phone has a passcode on it. But i am aware that anyone could just restore the phone and it'll be good as new. Chances are, the person who has it could register a new apple id and associate it with my phone's serial #. So my question is, is there a way for apple to see the new apple id associated to my phone using just the serial or IMEI? If so, will they allow me to get the new apple id associated to my phone? That way, i could coordinate with our local police here in PI and track down that person who has my phone.
Please help, i haven't slept really well since that incident happened. I know this might sound overrated. But i feel like i'm really desperate. I've only use that phone for 2months. And having to think of buying a new phone that costs a lot is just..... you get the picture. Help

Apple can do nothing at all.
    Sorry.

Hi there. My iPod Nano was stolen from my car today. I do know the serial number of this stolen device. Is there any way that Apple can block another user from connecting this stolen device to iTunes? Also, if another user was to attempt to connect this stolen device to iTunes, would Apple be able to inform of the username of this person in order that I could then pass this information to the police?

  • Is there any way to view a keynote presentation and the presenter notes on the iPad at the same time?

Is there any way to view a keynote presentation and the presenter notes on the iPad at the same time? My professors at school have keynote presentations and i take notes during class with the presenter notes feature. I was wondering if there was any way i can view both of them on the same screen on my iPad while studying? This way I could see their slides along with the notes i take during class.

None that I know of. Suggest to Apple.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

    Hi champrider,
You can use an application such as Apple Remote Desktop to control your iMac remotely. See this article -

Yes, you can import to an external drive by choosing it from the Import Screen.
Once an Event or Project is in iMovie, it is best to move it to the external using iMovie, so the Project does not lose links to the Event.
For full instructions on how to do this, see this link.

  • Is there a way to leave Windows 7 OS and install Windows 8 additionaly

Is there a way to leave Windows 7 OS and install Windows 8 additionaly with Bootcamp 5, means to have a triple boot option or dual boot option where the windows partition can choose to start windows 7 or windows 8 ?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
The problem you have is that Boot Camp doesn't allow you to create more than two volumes on the hard drive: one for OS X and another one for Windows, so you can't create another one for another Windows. If you want to test Windows 8, I recommend you to download a virtual machine application like VirtualBox, create a virtual machine and install Windows 8 there

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums.

    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3209
When you purchase an HD video on a supported device or computer, only HD video will be downloaded. To download the SD version, you need to download the video again from your Purchased page. Conversely, if you purchase an HD video on an unsupported device, the SD version will be downloaded. Then, you will need to download the HD version from your Purchased page. There are very specific requirements for using an iMac as an external display.
From Target Display Mode: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Apple Support
What are the requirements for TDM?
A Mac notebook or desktop with a Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt connection
A Thunderbolt or Mini DisplayPort cable
A supported iMac with OS X 10.6.1 or later. The table below shows iMac computers that support TDM, the required cables, and the port of the computer to which you are connecting the iMac.

    Port on Source Computer
    iMac (27-inch Late 2009)
    Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort
    Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt
    iMac (27-inch Mid 2010)
    Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort
    Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt
    iMac (Mid 2011)

    iMac (Mid 2012 and later)

Note that the iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) does not support Target Display Mode.
