Is There A Way Of Getting My Songs Back?

I was just wondering is there anyway to get music back when its been accidentaly deleted off the ipod and the files havent been kept on the computer????
Is there like an ipod recycle bin??

No. Delete means delete.
And you really shouldn't keep files only on the iPod. That's not safe, for reasosn you've probably just discovered.
Back up your music.

  • Is there a way to get the songs back after you do a sync and erase? I no longer have them stored on my harddrive.

Thanks to a wonderful geeksquad agent all my songs have been deleted from my ipod. They had to restore my computer so the ones I downloaded are no longer on my harddrive or in itunes. Is there a way to get the songs back after you do a sync and erase?

If they are on the iPod there are third-party programs that will transfer then to  a computer. See:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
If they ae not on either the iPOd or the computer they are gone.

    You can re-download from iTunes.
Go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free

  • Is there a way of getting your songs off your ipod?

Okay, so i have my ipod synced with a computer that i'll never see again. It was my ex boyfriends...is there a way of getting my songs off my ipod and on to my new computer or am i basically screwed if i want to add new songs?

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    iRepo Mac and Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

From the backup you maintain in case something drastic happens to your collection as it surely will when your drive crashes, the computer is stolen, etc.?
Are the files in the trash?  I don't let iTunes manage my music so when I delete a track I have to hunt down the file, drag it to the trash, and empty the trash in order to get rid of it.  I don't know how iTunes does it for others.

  • Is there a way to get phone numbers back on my iphone / or excel sheet?

Is there a way to get phone numbers back on my iphone / or excel sheet?
    What I've done:
I've upgraded my iphone from 2.0 to 2.1. To be able to do this I've upgraded to the latest iTunes and switched my USB port several times until it was finaly installed. Then, despite iTunes taking 3 hours time for making backups, I found my phone to be completely empty when it was finished. So, I tried to restored the phone. This gave an error 1602 and bricked my phone. Tried it all over again two times more with same results.
The bottom line is that I have an empty phone and I really would like to have my phone numbers back. There's some 1.02 GB of backup information in the apple directory, so I guess they must be something there. But how do I know which file I need and how to decode it?

Your contacts should still be on whatever program you sync your iphone to (i.e. Outlook, address book).
The iphone is not a stand alone device. It is designed to be synced with a computer. If you have not been syncing with a compatible program, then you are out of luck. Your contacts are not included in the back-up because it is meant to be synced with your computer.
"Although iTunes backs up most of your iPhone and iPod touch settings, downloaded applications, and other information (Contacts, calendars, notes, images in the Camera Roll), your audio, video, and photo content are not included in the backup."

Happily Windows is still running OK. Is there a way to get my usb back working? And is there a way to navigate in Windows to the file I installed and remove it? Any help appreciated.

Yes, it does. Right to where I am supposed to log in, but since the USB is not working (either mouse or keyboard), I'm stuck. I have to shut down and restart and boot into windows.

  • Today I deleted an email services I no longer need. Now when I go to the notes app I no longer have any notes.  Is there any way to get my notes back. I have the first iPad running iOS 5.1.1

Ah, well, then the notes are probably gone. Did you save any of the email from that account on your computer? The notes might be there if you did.

  • My iphone 5 has restored to an old backup after updating to ios 7 is there any way of getting my stuff back as this has now become the most recent back up?

my iphone 5 has restored to an old backup after updating to ios 7 is there any way of getting my stuff back as this has now become the most recent back up?
also since the update it keeps resetting itself? i had a lot of stuff on there that i really wanted and alot of important info lost? please help!!

You might be able to remove the recent backup from the backups folder and the old one should be usable at that point
USE EXTREAME CAUTION WHEN ACCESS THE FILES AND DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Note: The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your home folder, Option-click the Go menu.
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
    Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

  • While deleting an album, I hit select all, instead of deleting just that album the entire genre was deleted. I was able to get back all the purchased songs , but none of the cds that were in my collection. Any way to get those songs back?

Assume you were in itunes?  Also assuming windows?  Two paths I can think of.....
    1) Normally anything deleted from itunes goes to recycle bin.  If you did not pick remove from computer probably still in itunes music directory.  Just add back.  Note to speed things up you can use add directory.
    2) Use restore previous version of music directory.  To be safe I'd back up current directory, do a restore, then swap back original directory and use restored directory off line.
I do not know of nice solution, I like to hack my way through.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, not good, then you can redownload some purchases in some countries.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

If the system just Restarted on it's own, Shut down while you were working on something then started back up all those changes, edits, you had done in that app, document, are gone.
