Did you format the new drive?  This can be done with the Internet Recovery Mode. Try booting holding the command option R keys to get to Disk Utility.

I cannot open in apple diagnostic mode
You can run the Apple Hardware Test / Apple Diagnostics:
may not be aware is that Apple dumped AHT this past June. New Macs, introduced in June 2013 or later, no longer include the software. Instead, they have an entirely new diagnostic application called, appropriately enough, Apple Diagnostics. You access Diagnostics exactly the same way as you do AHT: Hold down the D key at startup.

New MacBooks can access HardWareTest by rebooting holding the D key, no disk required.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1509
or older machines Boot off your Install Disk while holding down the D key, (not c key), then run the extended Apple Hardware Test. Some disks require you to use the Option key at bootup to select AHT. Some models have a separate AHT CD.
If any error codes are generated, post that code back here for interpretation.

Simply stated that is design. If you want to suggest a change, there is a feedback section elsewhere on this site.

Nope, afraid not. The only third-party utility that you might look at is LionScrollBars 0.5.4. You can search for others at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.

  • TS4006 is there a way to undo the "Erase" command before the deletion starts?

is there a way to undo the "Erase" command before the deletion starts while the phone is turned off.  In my case the erase is pending the phone being turned on.  Now that I have found the phone, I don't want the deletion to happen.  How can I undo the command before turning on the iPhone?

There's no way to block the remote wipe.  But once it's been wiped, you can perform a restore from your backup on either icloud or itunes.

  • I think the DVD player reader on my Mac is going bad. Is there a way to copy the files off of an Apple Install DVD onto an external drive and then do theinstall from the external drive?

I think the DVD player reader on my Mac is going bad. Until I get it fixed Is there a way to copy the files off of an Apple Install DVD onto an external drive and then do theinstall from the external drive? It's ILife 11 if that makes a difference. Finder won't let me see the files to copy. I know - dumb question.
    Thanks.

Adding an SSD is not a simple endeavour like adding additional memory or adding another hard drive to a Mac Pro. That's probably why the option is only offered as an option at the time of purchase. Even if your Apple store was willing to install the necessary parts you will probably be paying for 1-2 hours of labor plus the cost of purchasing the necessary service parts (SSD, bracket, cables, etc) which I suspect will make the upgrade cost much higher than what it costs to add the SSD option when purchasing a new system.
I use my system for business and need it to work reliably.  Even though I'm fairly handy with tools I would not be willing to risk damaging my system and voiding my warranty by opening my system and removing the logic board and several other parts in order to squeeze in an SSD option and attach the appropriate cables and brackets. I'm also not prepared to deal with the hassles of explaining why my system has unauthorized parts installed in the event I experience issues and need to make use of my Apple warranty. My time is valuable, so I would probably investigate external storage options, or if I needed the speed of an SSD, I would consider selling my existing system and then purchase a new system configured with an SSD.
If you haven't already done so I suggest doing a search on 'iMac SSD installation' to see what's involved. It might help you understand why the SSD option is not offered post purchase.

  • Is there a way to make the scroll wheel move up and down instantly like you could with previous versions, instead of moving slowly up and down?

I've only recently updated my firefox to v 15.0.1 after using v 10 for so long, and I was wondering if there is a way to make the scroll wheel move up and down instantly without having it slowly crawl to it's spot?

I don't have to do anything.  Here is an example where I just exported a template to epub using Pages 4.  (Are you using Pages 5?  I have not tried with that, as it is so crippled compared to Pages 4 in other ways that I only use it to test missing features....).

  • Is there any way to tell the last date my ipod was plugged into my computer?

OKay, this may be a techie question, but I'm pretty savvy so if this info is contained in a file somewhere, you can feel free to explain how to find it, I can look for it.
i Misplaced my iPod nano at some point in time, and knowing the last date I synced it to iTunes or even plugged it in would be HUGELY helpful in helping me to maybe locate it.  IS there any way to see this information (the date specifically) anywhere on my computer dated in any file?
I Did look at devices and the iPod wasn't listed there, (only my more recent iPad and iPhone as backups) so I'm assuming maybe this wasnt an option in earlier versions of iTunes at least when I last had that sucker plugged in.
IIt's Moreso just killing me that I can't find it, and I KNOW it's one of a few places.

  • Is there any way of saving the laptop if some liquid was spilled over it?

I accidentally spilt some milk over my MacBook Air keyboard earlier today. I have dried it as best I can and no milk is dripping out from the keys now. I have put the laptop upside down like a tent so it can dry out. It doesn't look like any liquid went into the vent at the bottom of the laptop but I can't tell for sure.
It was switched on and screen was frozen on the password window when the milk was spilt. I then pressed the button to switch it off and that process took some time. Now it doesn't switch back on.
Has anyone had this happen to them and if so, is it possible to save the laptop? Can Apple support help and or recover data from the laptop? My laptop is out of warranty but I would like to see whether Apple support can help and how much it costs, and pay to have it fixed.
    Cheers

Liquid spills, why your MacBook Air chassis is a one-way valve for spills
After a substantial spill many people will turn their notebook upside down and shake it, not only does this not work, but it spreads liquid havoc throughout your machine and makes things often as bad as possible. The keyboard itself acts like a one way valve in the case of a substantial liquid spill. While liquid pours into the bottom chassis easy, it does not come out easily at all, and in the case of any spill, most of it will not come out by turning it upside down. Disconnect all power and contact Apple for diagnostics and repair.
Do not attempt to, after a spill, ‘dry out your MacBook Air’ and test it
After a spill most people invariably try to “dry out” their notebook by various methods, including hair dryers and otherwise. This both does not work, and after a substantial spill of any magnitude, even if the liquid was water, residue is left behind. There are additionally many very tight places inside your notebook where liquids will linger for a very long time, and cause corrosion or worse. Immediately unplug your notebook and contact Apple for in shop diagnostics and parts replacement. In the case of very minor spills people will “dry out” their notebook and feel success that their notebook is working ok, however invariably in nearly all instances after 4-14 days an error / fault pops up and is usually followed by more.
YES, your notebook can be "saved".....having repaired them, they can ALL be fixed,....but cost escalates to the point of "whats the use?"
When damage is SO high, its close to the cost of a new machine, then fixing is futile

  • Is there a way to see the last time my ipad was online?

I lost my ipad and I can't use the locate my iphone app because the ipad is offline.  I am wondering if there is a way to see when the last time it was connected to the internet and where it was the last time it was connected.

No.  Find My iPad doesn't keep any history of that.  Also, it it's a wifi-only model, it will only be online if it is connected to a known wifi network.  The best strategy is to put it in lost mode and change your iCloud password so someone can't take over your account.

  • Is there a way to change the scroll bar?

I hate the new scroll bar in Lion. I barely notice it and it's thinner than the old one. I really hate the migration to "more like iOS". it doesn't meld well with the existing look.
On top of that it's a bit more work to click and drag on it since it's so much thinner.

If you want to report this issue to Apple's engineering, send a bug report or an enhancement request via its Bug Reporter system. To do this, register as an Apple Developer—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report or enhancement request. You'll get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering. Numbers count, so file away.

  • Is there a way to adjust the Scroll bar? Because when I press the arrows key once it goes straight to the bottom of the page rather than going down gradually.

Before when I pressed the arrow key to navigate up and down the screen it would do it gradually. After I up graded to the current version it now skips down to the very bottom of the page.

  • Is there a way to type the Apple 'option' and 'command' keys

using a standard PC keyboard? I've tried and can get a badly messed up version of the 'options' ramp, but don't even know where to start with the 'command' key.
I'm using the Microshaft ergonomic keyboard. I have the Apple keyboard that came with the iMac, but switching keyboards when I want to type just one ore two keys seems like overkill.
Has anyone using a standard keyboard come across a workaround for this?

  • Is there a way to modify the delivery Quantity before Packing takes Place?

    Here is the story.
ATP is currently allocating partial delivery unit qty's is the Sales order schedule lines. This is causing numerous problems from a business and logistical standpoint and I have yet after weeks of searching found a solution.
The standard ABAP User exits all make the modifications before the qty is known, or after packing therefore making them not useful. I have debugged the enhancement points and those also seem to not allow for the modification of the delivery qty.
Has anyone every successfully been able to do this.  Help is dearly needed at this point.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  • When using an external (ergonomic mouse) is there any way to get the wheel to scroll one full page at a time?

When using an external (ergonomic mouse) is there any way to get the wheel to scroll one full page at a time? Much appreciated.

I can't use the keyboard to scroll. I need to keep my hand on the mouse, otherwise I'd never get anything done. Since I have no problem getting Firefox to scroll one page at a time, and I'm constantly jumping between 3 browsers, it would be nice to be able to scroll a full page at a time in Safari, just like I can in Firefox. Thanks.
