Is there a way of reordering reminders in er.... reminders?

I have loads of reminders and I would basically like to organise them into date format.
Thanks.

In iCloud.com, Reminders, clicking in the grey area does NOT move the item, as it will revert to it's original position.

IS THERE A WAY TO CHANGE THE NOTIFICATION SOUNDS FOR REMINDERS?

Yes you can, in the sense that this is an "Alert" sound you've set for the whole Mac software, and of course this is set in System Preferences > Sounds > Sound Effects. This will change the "alert sound" for the whole Mac.
So, No, you can't change only this particular Alert sound. If you could, it would be done in System Preferences > Notifications, and your only option there is whether you want the sound or not (Chkbox on "Play sound when receiving Notifications")

  • Is there any way to get my reminders (from the new iPhone app) to sync with something on my laptop (Mail, iCal, some other desktop app)?

Is there any way to get my reminders (from the new iPhone app) to sync with something on my laptop (Mail, iCal, some other desktop app)?

Yes, if you have iCloud set up on your phone and computer, then reminders will be synced through iCal.

  • Is there a way to disable "Reminders" from being pushed from CalDav accounts, but keep calenders? Or is this just all from push notifications?

On all iOS devices we have CalDav accounts setup to sync calenders from our server.  However, you also get those accounts in the "Reminders" app.  Is there a way to remove on the reminders portion, but leave the calenders?
    Thanks!

    Hi Everyone,
To give an update on the situation: I disabled the Yahoo account and it seems to make a VERY NOTICEABLE difference in battery life - prior to this my battery would drain quite rapidly but since disabling it it's only lost about 15-20% over the past 24 hours (and thats with using the video/music/internet functions for about an hour and a half).. Prior to this it would have been close to drained under the same circumstances.
Also, to confirm, the "Your last transaction cost 0.00" messages only appear when accessing the internet manually now. before they appeared every 10-15 minutes with no interaction from myself at all (while it was sitting idle, while watching videos, while charging, while in my pocket, etc..)
I do have it set to only check Manually but Yahoo would seem to check on it's own even though this setting is checked (I'm guessing it has to do with the Push setting). Aside from draining the battery, it was quite annoying having 30 or so "Your transaction cost $0.00" messages to click through whenever I turned on the phone.
I did have the screen set to shut off after 1 min, but the 'your transaction cost..' messages would first wake the iphone up, the screen would stay bright for about 30 seconds, dim for about 30 seconds, then turn on bright again for 1 minute until it shut off. I'm guessing the screen (being on for about 10-15 minutes per hour due to this) and the fact that yahoo accesses the internet on such a frequent basis are what cut the battery life down.
I really wish I could make Yahoo work more like Gmail and have it manually search for new mail

  • Is there any way to stop details showing up in reminders?

Is there any way to stop details showing up in reminders? Before a recent ios update, you had to click on the reminder to show details. Now the details show up in reminders automatically which has made my task list unmanageable - I often create tasks from emails I get in my business Microsoft Outlook/Exchange account.
Before the update, the reminder list worked really well. I got a nice neat list and could click into individual reminders for all the details if I needed them.
Now I don't get a nice neat list - but all the content of my emails in my reminder list.
There doesn't seem to be any way to change the settings so the reminder doesn't include all the details.
Has anyone else found this a problem? Help!

Here are another couple standalone utilities, that I haven't tested, myself:

Is there a way I can have Siri speak my reminders instead of just receiving the reminder tone?

To do stuff like that will always need custom coding and things like API work. You will never be able to use Muse for that, its a basic site design tool that can hook up to BC modules. You will need to use coding software and have custom API work done for things like this.

  • Is there a way to specify sorting in Notes and Reminders in IOS 7?

Is there a way to specify a sorting order in Notes and Reminders in IOS 7?  Although Notes and Reminders now sink with Outlook (via an Exchange server,) they seem to appear in a random order.

If you're on an iPhone and you pull down on the unsorted reminder list, it exposes a Search box and an alarm clock.  If you select the alarm clock, it puts the reminders in ascending chonological order grouped by date -- e.g., "Today", "Thursday, September 26", etc. with the caption "Scheduled" at the top.

  • With 10.7.2 update iCal does not allow you to set "Reminders" by draging events from "All Day Events" into "Reminders" is there another way to do this instead of having to type out the entire reminder with date, time, and type?

With 10.7.2 update iCal does not allow you to set "Reminders" by draging events from "All Day Events" into "Reminders" is there another way to do this instead of having to type out the entire reminder with date, time, and type?
With Lion 10.7.1. you where able to drag events from "All Day Events" into the "Reminders" bar to create upcoming reminders.

Exactly the same question I was about to post!
Great being able to sync reminders (well overdue) however if I have to re-type a calener envent into reminders it's a waste of time!!
    Come on Apple!!
Just need an option for the calender event to add to reminder or the old drag to add to reminder functionality back, Please???

  • Is there any way to add a task/reminder from iCal or Mail besides adding flags that have no date reminders?

Am I missing something? Is there a 3rd party software that does this? I came from Outlook with the ability to add tasks to my daily to-dos and give them start/end dates.  Where can I do this with OSX 10.7?

Thanks for the feedback Kip - I did see this option in iCal, which BTW is not optimal at all as you have to retype the action item and due date. I was looking for a way to add to dos and reminders with due dates directly from Mail as I did with Outlook. I get a ton of emails that I want to follow-up on, but want to chhose when I get reminded, and actually have a remider pop-up when it is due/overdue.  Hope that makes sense.

  • Is there a way to change default Reminder List for new Reminders?

In iCal, I have Reminders showing.  I have three Reminder Lists, but I've only got one List checked so only that List's Reminders show up.  When I create a new Reminder, iCal always wants to create it in one of the unchecked Lists - always the same List, but not the one currently showing.  I always have to finish creating the new Reminder, and then change it to be part of the other Reminder List.  And, because iCal insists on creating the new Reminder in one of the unchecked (non-displayed) Lists, it checks the box for me so now I have to go an uncheck it again to restore the display of only one List.
Am I doing something wrong or is iCal Reminder creation just this clunky?
Is there some way to tell iCal to use a particular Reminder List for creating new Reminders in?

Duh.  Found it right on the General tab of iCal's Preferences.
I really don't know how I missed that.

  • Is there a way I can seperate Reminders from iCal?

    Hi,
I was wondering is there a way to seperate the reminders from iCal to say the desktop?
Because it's a hassel always having to open up iCal to view it.
    Thanks

Locate them in the Windows Explorer, move or copy those files as you would any other, and drag them into the open iTunes window when the second library is loaded. If you're using two iTunes libraries on one user account, you only need to locate the files; otherwise, they need to be put in a shared area.

  • Is there any way to set up reminders so that they are in due date order?

On the ipad, reminders are organized in the order of the dates they are due under "scheduled". Is there any way for it to show like that on the Mac?

This sounds like the age old problem with keychain & Safari. I don't know of a way to solve it without using something like 1Password.
The iOS app has it's own built in browser, so it has more control over what gets autofilled. Safari on OS X has an 1Password extension that handles account selection & autofill etc.
Keychain is great in principle, but it quickly falls down when you need tight integration with many ID's & different use cases (work, home etc).
I'd suggest you submit feedback to Apple about your thoughts. I did so years ago about this issue & this is how far we have come (back to the point where me.com synced passwords) :^)
    http://apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
Other tools like lastpass or keypassx may also help if you want to truly segregate password storage, but that doesn't fix autofill, the way around that issue is to dedicate one browser for work.

  • Is there a way to move my calendar, reminders & iMessage apps from the dock to the menu bar?

Is there a way to move my calendar, reminders & iMessage apps from the dock to the menu bar?

Workspaces are stored as XML files in your user profile on Windows or the user library on Mac, in a subfolder called, strangely enough, workspaces.
You may have run afoul of the new "content grabber" in the center of a frame that allows you to move the content without changing tools. Looks sort of like a dounut, or the center spot on some SLR camera focus viewfinders. You'll either love it or hate it, and it can be switched on or off in the View menu.

  • Is there a way to use icloud to sync different information (i.e. reminders) to my computer, but not have my husbands reminders synced to my phone under the same apple ID?

Just recently updated to iOS 5 and love the icloud and it's updated features.  Only problem is that my husband and I share the same Apple account and now our info is getting synced to each others devices.  Is there a way to keep the auto syncing enabled, but to say that my stuff doesn't get synced to his phone and vice versa???

Sorry... Apple IDs cannot be merged...
I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.
