Is there a way of resizing the contents of multiple bounding boxes at the same time using the number fields in the tool bar?

I'musing cs6 and need to resize an image and two text boxes to a specific pixel width.
I try selecting all of the boxes and punching in 960 px in the resizing field in the tool bar but only the bounding boxes and not their contents get resized...

Use the horizontal scale field (and include the units) rather than the width field.

  • HT5891 Is there a way to remove the menu bar from a secondary display while still using the "Displays have separate spaces" mode?

    Is there a way to remove the menu bar from a secondary display while still using the very useful "Displays have separate spaces" mode?
    The reason I ask is that most full-screen video playback in most applications, from iTunes to Flash/Silverlight plugins do not take up the full screen, instead leaving space for the menu bar (in the case of iTunes) or leaving the menu bar present on top of the video (for fullscreen Flash/Silverlight videos).
    This is annoying for several reasons ranging from the obvious distraction factor to the fact that 1080p video is not played back at native resolution on a 1080p display.
    If there is no way to disable this functionality while maintaining separate spaces, I would (humbly) suggest that a future update to Mavericks allow non-Lion-style* full-screen apps to take over the entire display.
    *Lion-style full-screen apps are those that animate into a full-screen mode when the opposing-arrows full-screen button in the upper-right-hand corner of the window is pressed.

    No. Turning that off reverts to the old display setup. You have one desktop spanned across all displays. The menu bar appears on the primary display only.

  • Is there any way to make the scroll bars wider and blue in Lion?

    Is there any way to make the scroll bars wider and blue in Lion?

    Nope, afraid not. The only third-party utility that you might look at is LionScrollBars 0.5.4. You can search for others at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.

  • Is there any way to hide the menu bar?

    I've been trying to find out if there's a way to hide the menu bar unless the mouse pointer is pushed up to the upper edge of the screen, I know there are third-party applications that let you do this (Menufela which uses Application Enhancer that I prefer to avoid as it is causes more problems than it solves as far as I'm concerned), I also know that it's possible to write applications that cause the menu bar to exhibit this behaviour while they're focused.
    But what I'm looking for is a way to make it behave this way all the time without installing Application Enhancer and having to deal with all the headaches that come with it.

    It does seem odd that you can't get the menu bar to hide itself though, I seem to recall something about editing certain files in .app directories to make it hide itself on an app-by-app basis.
    To hide the menu bar for a single application, you need to modify the Info.plist, as described -> here <-.
    This will work on nearly every application. Only on a very few applications it will cause incorrect behaviour, mainly Finder.app.
    So a simple way to realise your wishes, is to create an Applescript, that will "hide and unhide" the menubar for a couple of apps at one time.
    Here a demonstration example: Choose one or more apps. Menu bar will be hidden/unhidden:
    <pre style="
    font-family: 'Courier New', Courier;
    font-size: 12px;
    line-height: 1;
    border: 2px solid #1E90FF;
    width: 700px; height: 200px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #F5FFFA;
    overflow: auto;">
    on run
    set xyz to choose file default location (path to "apps" as alias) with multiple selections allowed without invisibles
    repeat with i in xyz
    set appName to name of (get info for i)
    if appName ends with ".app" then set proName to text 1 thru -5 of appName
    tell application "Finder"
    try
    if exists (process proName) then
    set x to display dialog "Is " & "\"" & proName & "\"" & " still running? If so, please quit it now!" buttons {"Cancel", "Quit it!", "No! Not running!"} default button 2 with icon 0
    end if
    end try
    end tell
    try
    if button returned of x is "Quit it!" then
    tell application appName
    quit
    end tell
    end if
    end try
    try
    ((i as Unicode text) & "Contents:Info.plist") as alias
    set infoPlist to quoted form of POSIX path of ((i as Unicode text) & "Contents:Info")
    try
    do shell script "defaults read " & infoPlist & " LSUIPresentationMode"
    do shell script "defaults delete " & infoPlist & " LSUIPresentationMode"
    on error
    do shell script "defaults write " & infoPlist & " LSUIPresentationMode -int 4"
    end try
    end try
    end repeat
    end run
    </pre>

  • Is there a way to hide the tab bar on my I Pad 2 in IOS 5?

    Anyone know of a way to hide the tab bar in an I Pad 2 using OS5? It wasn't there on the previous operating system.

    I can only assume that you are talking about Safari and the answer is no. Safari now uses tabs. If you want a tab free browser, download iCab. You can use tabs or you also have the old Safari way of browsing open web pages at your disposal. Another rally nice feature is that you can swipe from one open web page to another open web page. It also has a ton of other features that Safari does not have.

  • *Is there any way to limit the Chart Bar size dynamically?*

    Hi
    I have selected the Marker size as Medium for my Bar chart.
    Bar chart bar showing too big when there is only one bar.
    Is there any way to limit the bar size dynamically?
    Thank you

    hi Ruwan,
    Don is correct in that there is no option in the chart design component to do this.
    what you can do though (i know it is a pain) is to
    1) create a new chart in a new section with a narrower bar using the chart options dialogue
    2) create a conditional suppression formula for the new section and the old chart section based on the value returned in the Show Value for the chart
    i have created a request for a charting overhaul [here |https://ideas.sap.com/community/products_and_solutions/crystalreports;jsessionid=B3E2E9F6A6CC9C9F5321659382A91855.node0]in the ideas place which includes a solution for this particular issue. please feel free to give it the thumbs up if you think that this is a worthwhile idea.

  • When I try to open a document sized 9" by 18", Reader opens it as standard 8.5" by 11". Is there a way to resize the frame in Reader? Do I need a different software?

    The document is a seating chart for my wedding. I made the document in Word because of instructions from this site: http://mrsfancee.com/chalkboard-seating-chart/
    When I save it as a pdf, Reader just fits what it can from the original document into the standard page settings and cuts off parts of my document. Is there a way to make this work with the Word document? Or do I need to start all over in a different software? I'm kind of panicking because it's for my wedding in 11 days, and apparently I don't know what I'm doing at all.
    Sidenote: I called Microsoft already and they told me the problem isn't on their end, so that's not an option.
    Thank you in advance.

    What are you using to save as a pdf? Reader doesn't have anything to do with creating the pdf. If you are simply using the "Save As>PDF in Word then yes, it's a Microsoft issue. No Adobe product is involved in that part. Adobe Reader is only seeing what is created.
    But, when you say it's being cut off do you mean it's cutting it off in the pdf itself or is it all visible in the pdf but is being cut off when you print?

  • Is there a way to keep the search bar from unfolding downward?

    I just updated to FF 34 and see that when I start to type something into the search bar it now unfolds downward, taking up about seven lines worth of space -- even though I have search suggestions disabled. The problem with this is that the unfolding covers up part of the urls, tab and top-of-webpage text that I sometimes reference (or even copy-n-paste) to guide my search-term selection. I usually use only my default search engine, so the disadvantages of this "obscuring" definitely outweigh any advantages from being able to more easily select an alternate search engine on-the-fly. In fact, one reason I used the search bar to begin with is to *avoid* the kind of unfolding behavior search engine pages often have. But it's actually more intrusive here, because it is covering up more pertinent text. Is there any way to keep this "unfolding" behavior from happening automatically when using the search bar in FF 34? Thanks

    You can revert to the older Search Bar scheme like this.
    Open up '''about:config''' ''(typed in the Location Bar)''
    Right-click and toggle this preference to '''''false'''''
    '''browser.search.showOneOffButtons'''
    Then restart Firefox.

  • When changing "browser.newtab.url" is there any way to prevent the address bar from getting focus?

    When I change "browser.newtab.url" to about:home and open a new tab, focus is set to the address bar not the search box on the firefox home page. The same thing happens if i change the url to google.com or another search engine. Is there any way to prevent this from happening.

    Custom new Tab has a small bug if the start page is exactly the same as the new tab page. Then the focus of the start page is on the address bar. Just leave the "www." out in the startpage and use "www." in the new tab page then it works perfectly. e.g.
    Startpage: google.com
    new Tab page : www.google.com
    Now the focus of the start page is on the search box.

  • Is there a way to move the tabs bar back where it was in the older version, meaning under the address bar?

    When I downloaded Firefox 4 my tabs bar moved to the top and I hate it there. I like where it was in the previous version. Is there perchance a way to move it underneath the address bar again? Thanks in advance.

    Right-click on a toolbar, then click on the "Tabs on Top" entry to de-select it.

  • Is there a way to hide the bookmarks bar in iOS 8 on the iPad? It takes up a large part of the screen when in landscape mode

    Since I upgraded to iOS8, my iPad screen permanently shows the bookmarks bar down the left. This means I can only use about ⅔ of the screen when in landscape mode. Is there something I am missing which allows me to hide/show the bookmarks bar? Thanks

    TThank you so much! I felt it must be something straightforward.

  • Is there a way to hide the status bar when reading a book in iBooks?

    Every other ereader app seems to hide the status bar (at the top of the screen, with battery etc) automatically, or there is a setting to do so. I can't seem to be able to do this in iBooks. What am I missing?

    Nothing - afaik iBook can't do that trick

  • Is there a way to hide the task bar that always displays in Mac OS?

    I'm referring to the area shown in the attached image.

    The menu bar is needed to turn off the Mac and to access to all the tools of all apps, so it's necessary to keep it there. Also, it can only be hidden when you are running a full-screen app (near all apps on OS X Lion and Mountain Lion work in this mode)

  • Is there a way to remove the blue bars on the side

    Me and my friend are trying to make video and I wanna remove the blue bars because they don't blend in with his background. Is their a way I can remove them or change the color?

    Not within Skype as far as I know.
    Try using your recording/Streaming software to only record x area on the screen, cropping out the blue bars.
