Is there a way to activate audio crossfade

I want to add audio crossfade on my ipod touch, is there any new software that can do that?

It's like this... TFB! or TO FRACKING BAD! The iPod touch first and iOS afterwards has never supported crossfade. You have it available on the iPod nano but not the iPod touch. They should rename the iPod touch to iPad micro or something. This is something that has been needed to be addressed for a long time now. I know, let's blame it on Scott Forstall!

  • Is there a way to digitize audio using the headphone input on the 15-inch (late 2013) Macbook Pro with Retina display?

    I'd like to digitize audio from a minidisc player into my 15-inch (late 2013) Macbook Pro with retina display, but can't see a way to change the internal mic input.  I understand that previous MacBooks allowed the headphone jack to double as a mic input, but mine doesn't seem capable of switching.  I've tried using a mini to mini cable, with no luck, and also tried using a headset splitter adapter (3.5 mm 4-pin to 2x3-pin 3.5 mm headset splitter adapter from Amazon) because I read that that would allow me to plug in headphones and input audio.  But in both cases, the only "input" available in my sound preferences is the built-in internal microphone.  Am I missing something?  Is there a way to digitize audio through the headphone jack?

    Not likely. headphone jacks are usually output only devices unless specifically stated to support input, and even then, it may not be audio input that they support, but merely control input for volume and such.
    You can get a USB audio input instead. i.e:

  • Is there a way to activate the whole application in Non Development system?

    Hi All,
    Is there a way to activate the whole application in Non Development system? Using some BRF Plus Tool.
    We copied a sample application and customized the same as per our requirement. The same is then released to Test System for testing. On Test system this application with all component is in non-active state. We re activated the application with all the component and released it to Test System. But still the application is inactive.
    Application is a of storage type system and so cannot use changeability exit to activate on test system.

    Is IT_FKKMAVS part of the same transport request or was it sent already earlier?
    You may have a look at the request if it was OK. Probably not.
    Maybe in the meantime more requests reached the system that now have in combination solved the problem. What is your release and support package level?
    Higher versions of BRFplus have a lot of automatic correction mechanisms built into it.
    E.g. problematic imports are collected in an import queue. As soon as a request comes in that fixes any problems the after import processing for faulty imports is automatically redone.

  • Is there a way to separate audio from a video clip in iMovie HD?

    iMovie 6.0.4
    Sorry if this has been answered before.
    Is there any way to edit audio within iMovie? What I mean is, importing an audio file but then editing and separating the audio file into smaller pieces. Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks for any help, much appreciated!

    Edit the same as you would a video clip. Highlight the audio clip by clicking on it, then select the place you want to edit it with the playhead, go to EDIT and select Split Audio Clip at Playhead.

  • The "Find Faces" function is deactivated on iPhoto 9.5, in OSX Mavericks. Is there any way to activate / deactivate this function?

    Hello,
    Instead of deactivting the "Find Faces" Function, I would like iPhoto 9.5.1 to run this.
    On my MacBook Aluminium Late 2008, running Mavericks 10.9.3 this function is grayed out, and never run.
    Is there a way to activate this function?

    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It makes no changes to your data.
    Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    defaults read -app iPhoto PKFaceDetectionEnabled | pbcopy
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
    Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear below what you entered.
    The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produced no output, the Clipboard will be empty. Paste into a reply to this message.
    The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

  • Is there any way of storing audio- / video-elements in the browser cache in Safari in iOS?

    Hi there,
    I'm desperatly trying to find a solution for a web application that has to run on an iOS-Safari (e.g. on iPad, iPad2 and iPhone 4):
    It's a web-application I wrote some time ago which lets the user search for and listen to short music samples (MP3s, all from ~100 kB to ~1.5 MB). The audio player is Flash-based, so it doesn't work on iOS-devices at the moment and I'll have to implement an alternative either in HTML 5 or with a "direct" QuickTime-object.
    Both my HTML 5- and QuickTime-alternatives for iOS-devices work fine so far, but there's one major problem I can't find a solution to:
    Unlike Flash and most HTML 5-capable browsers on Windows Safari on my iPad 2 won't store the audiofiles in the browsercache after loading and playing them - neither with HTML 5 audio-tags nor with a QuickTime-Object. Every time I load an audio file for playback from the server (with JavaScript-Commands, so without changing or reloading the whole page) it's downloaded again completely.
    If a user listens to sample A and then to sample B, Safari forgot about having played sample A and downloads the whole MP3 again if I like to listen to it again. On a mobile device with a potentially narrow bandwith this behaviour is out of the question.
    Is there a way of storing downloaded audiofiles opened by HTML 5 or QuickTime in Safari's cache so it remembers already having downloaded them  -  like it caches usual "web-files" like HTML, CSS or JPEG-images, or like Flash stores such objects in its local cache?
    The Application Cache with a manifest-file is not an option - this only seems to work if the browser is offline, for example if the iOS-device is in "Airplane"-Mode.

    Yes, I watched it. It contains interesting stuff I have to admit I didn't know yet, but unfortunately I still can't find a solution to my problem:
    My first attempt was trying to use the Application Cache with a manifest file - although this is not really the intended purpose for my application... I don't have a static set of files that I want to have cached or "available offline"  -  I just want to cache MP3s which the user has played yet.
    It should be possible to use a "dynamic manifest": One that is parsed by the Apache PHP module and listing the files played so far from a PHP session - something like this:
    <?php
    session_start();
    header("Content-Type: text/cache-manifest, charset=UTF-8");
    echo "CACHE MANIFEST\n";
    foreach($_SESSION['playedSongs'] as $song)
        echo $song."\n";
    ?>
    So whenever a song is loaded / played, I could access the PHP session with AJAX, insert the filename of the played file and manually update the manifest by calling window.applicationCache.update().
    There are two problems with this:
    First of all: It doesn't work. And I didn't even get to the point of trying to use a dynamic manifest:
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html manifest="cache.manifest">
        <head>
            <title>Test</title>
            <script type="text/javascript">
            function playStuff(id)
                if(id == 1)
                    window.document.getElementById("audio").innerHTML = '<audio controls preload="automatic" autobuffer><source src="song01.mp3" type="audio/mp3" /></audio>';
                else if(id == 2)
                    window.document.getElementById("audio").innerHTML = '<audio controls preload="automatic" autobuffer><source src="song02.mp3" type="audio/mp3" /></audio>';
            </script>
        </head>
        <body>
            <div id="audio"></div><br />
            <br />
            <input type="button" value="playStuff(1)" onclick="playStuff(1)" />
            <input type="button" value="playStuff(2)" onclick="playStuff(2)" />
        </body>
    </html>
    The cache.manifest looks like this:
    CACHE MANIFEST
    song01.mp3
    song02.mp3
    and is properly returned from Apache as "text/cache-manifest" by adding
    AddType text/cache-manifest manifest
    to the .htaccess of this directory.
    The Apache-logs clearly show that the Safari (respectively "AppleCoreMedia") doesn't care about the application cache when it comes to audio-files:
    Safari itself seems to acknowledge the manifest and indeed preload the files:

    Every file is downloaded again completely when playing it. So "AppleCoreMedia" (whatever this may be exactly, the QuickTime-plugin that is triggered by the HTML 5 audio-element I suppose?) either doesn't have access to the Application Cache or simply just doesn't realize the files in it. So if I switch my iPad to "Airplane Mode" now, the Safari is unable to access / load / play the files.
    I also tried using a QuickTime-object instead of an HTML 5 audio-tag (as far as I know HTML 5 audio and video in Safari always use QuickTime?) and controlling it with something like:
    document.movie1.SetURL('song02.mp3');
    Nothing changes, it's just like using HTML 5 audio and everything gets downloaded again when loading/playing it.
    And even if this would work there'd still be a problem:
    To properly implement that I would have to load the MP3-file in the Application Cache before playing it. When doing this it seems impossible to show a "real" progress: The ProgressEvent that is fired from the Application Cache after updating it doesn't seem to provide any information about data loaded so far and the complete size of a file. It's just "File 1 from 2" and so on, and not a "real" progress where I could determine something like: "100 kB of 1.2 MB loaded" as I can with the audio-element.
    All the other storage-approaches like Web SQL / Web Database or Local Storage are no help either:
    I don't see any way of getting the MP3 data into Local Storage or Web Database or getting it out again to play it. The HTML 5 Canvas-element has a toDataURL()-function to produce a Base64-encoded representation and use it for storage  -  the Audio-element doesn't seem to have anything like this.
    My last really "dirty" approach was trying to load "manually" Base64-encoded-MP3s with a combination of AJAX and PHP: A PHP-script outputs a Base64-representation of a MP3-file and is loaded by AJAX, so I could store the Base64-representation e.g. as Local Storage or in Web Database:
    <?php
    $infile = 'song01.mp3';
    $contents = file_get_contents($infile);
    $base64 = base64_encode($contents);
    $audio = 'data:audio/mp3;base64,'.$base64.'';
    echo $audio;
    ?>
    I tried using the resulting AJAX responseText as the source-argument in an audio-source-tag. Suprise: It doesn't work in Safari on my iPad 2, the player just fails to load the "file", although this works fine in Chrome on Windows. Possibly a size limitation for Base64-URIs on Safari / iOS.
    And again: Even if this was working in iOS/Safari I don't know of a way to determine a real progress from an AJAX-query...
    The last thing I could think of is not replacing the audio- or source-tags when loading a song but leaving them in the DOM-structure, check if it's already there when a song is loaded and just add a new audio-tag if a song hasn't been loaded yet.
    This solution would be my last resort: I'd have to rewrite nearly the whole application to completely operate on JavaScript / AJAX to stay on one site in the browser - else the "cached" audio data would be lost again when changing to another site in Safari.
    Furthermore I think there'll be a small cache limit somewhere when doing this?
    Any ideas?

  • Is there any way to change audio conforming in preferences?

    Hi
    I am uploading about 4 hours worth of footage for a new project to CS5 Premier Pro, and have found that I can only capture in 10 minute segments as when I capture anything longer due to capture/conform back up that inevitably occurs eventually PP decides that its not responding.
    Does anyone else experience this & is there some way I can turn off the conforming while I am capturing & then capture the whole project at once, like overnight while I am sleeping?
    thanks
    Mandi

    Mandy,
    As Harm points out, Conforming is necessary. What is happening is that the Audio is converted to 32-bit floating-point for accurate editing, and then the PEK (Waveform Display) file is created. You end up with a CFA and a PEK for each Audio Clip, and these will be located where you directed your Scratch Disks (files).
    I can only capture in 10 minute segments as when I capture anything longer due to capture/conform back up that inevitably occurs eventually PP decides that its not responding.
    This is an odd problem, and I think that Harm is correct, that you have an outside issue, causing this. Now, when you say "capture," you do mean "Capture" as from a miniDV tape camera over FireWire using the Capture module in PrPro, don't you? If you are not doing Capture that way, then you are Importing the files. If the latter is the process that you are using, can you give us the full details of those files?
    If the former, Capture, that should be in accordance with the Sequence's Capture settings.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Is there any way to cut audio while keeping the video it is tied to?

    ok, I have a video from a dvd i burned on FCE but the sound is messed up. I am going to be making a AMV with it anyway so I don't really need the audio. Is there any way of cutting the audio without disturbing the video it was imported with. I must stress that they were not imported separately.

    Place the footage in the timeline. Click the lock key on the vidoe time line. This will place a screen looking thing over the video. Select the audio in the time line and press delete. That will delete the audio but keep the video. Then unclick the lock key and all should be well. Always remeber the "undo" option if you mess up. I use it all the time.

  • Is there any way to activate the keep identity setting when using a Transfer SQL Server Object Task?

    Is there any way to add the "Keep Identity" option to the tables selected for transfer in a Transfer SQL Server Object Task?  It seems that would be very useful, yet I can't find an easily available setting for it.  I would prefer to
    accomplish this within the Transfer SQL Server Object Task since it can copy any new fields added to the source tables, as opposed to having to rebuild a custom Data Flow Task any time a table structure is altered.  I thought setting "CopyPrimaryKeys"
    to True would do the trick, but I found that only ensures that the column settings are transferred; when the transfer happens, the destination id column is populated based on the specified seed and increment value, not what's actually in the source table.
    I'd like to point out that replication isn't really an option here. This is a package that runs a few times a day to keep some data on our website up to date with data in our protected corporate environment.

    IIRW there is FastLoadKeepIdentity specifies
    whether to keep an identity in OLEDB destination

  • Is There A Way To Loop Audio Using Edge Commons?

    Hi,
    I've been getting on really well using Edge Commons to add audio to my animations (fantastic bit of kit, by the way - thank you simonwidjaja !).
    However, while playing a sound via the trigger EC.Sound.play("mySound"); works brilliantly for individual instances of sound I've wholly failed to find a way to get sound files to loop.
    I've been struggling with this for an age, now, and really haven't got anywhere at all. I know that Edge Commons integrates SoundJS and I know that SoundJS provides a facility to loop audio but I can't see a way to make it happen via the Edge Commons script.
    SoundJS' method seems to be couched as:
    static SoundInstance play ( value , interrupt , delay , offset , loop , volume , pan )
    And in Edge Commons I can find:
    var instance = SoundJS.play(soundId, SoundJS.INTERRUPT_NONE, 0, 0, false, 1);
    which I assume (perhaps incorrectly?) relates to the aforementioned SoundJS.
    I'm guessing (as has been mooted by resdesign in another post) that I need to edit the following, which appears in creation complete, in order to make looping happen but I just can't seem to get anything I try to work.
    {src: assetsPath + "mySound.mp3|" + assetsPath + "mySound.ogg", id: 'mySound'},
    Of course, I may simply be on the wrong track altogether; so as ever, any thoughts and ideas will be very gratefully received x

    Hi Emmy,
    1. can I use buzz to create sound in edge compositions destined for the ipad?
    Yep. Although there still exists the MASSIVELY annoying issue whereby iOS insists on a user-push to activate the play of any audio. Apple's assertion is that users shouldn't have to worry about being forced to download unsolicited audio which may end up costing them dear if they are on a chargeable 3G connection; so they've effectively disabled anything that is, or could be described as, an autoplay function. This means that instead of being able to include autoplay of audio  - to, say, have a sound track automatically start playing when an animation begins - the playback of said track needs to be initiated by the user.
    For example, the code: sym.getComposition().getStage().YourSoundName.play(); would need to be placed on a clickable button as opposed to a trigger on the main timeline or the timeline of any of your symbols.
    In essence you have to provide the user with an opportunity to confirm that 'yes I want to hear this'.
    While the sentiment behind not wishing users to incur unwarranted expense is understandable (and laudable) the whole concept is a huge pain for animators and a total joke-killer and best. Think of it in terms of Man Slips On Bananaskin... instead of users automatically/seamlessly being able to hear a comedic associated 'whoooooop' sound they have to click a button in order to do so. 'Do you want to hear an amusing noise associated with this bit of stage action? Click for yes'. Obviously one doesn't actually have to couch such a question in actuality, but you get the drift (The Death Of Fun!). As a 'semi' workaround you may want to try experimenting with mouseOver triggers on invisible buttons.
    2. will users need internet access to hear the sounds each time?  In other words do the sounds have to be called from an exteral source each time they are played, or are they part of the exported file and therefore only downloaded once.  (I understand that Ihave to manually include the audio file in the exported Edge file).
    Not quite sure about this one as I ended up working on some entirely different stuff; so didn't persue the Apple annoyances long enough to find out more.
    3. can I use my own mp3 sounds, and if so, how?
    If you mean, can you use mp3s that are not originated by you (i.e. iTunes tracks etc.) then essentially no. Not unless they're copyright/royalty free or you've obtained a license to use them.
    If by your own mp3 sounds you mean audio that you've originated yourself, then yes, of course
    It makes sense to produce both an mp3 and an ogg version of each sound, to ensure maximum compatibility with regard to user playback. Other than that, simply name your files, place them in a folder called 'audio' (for example) and then, in Edge's 'compositionReady', include the following code for each sound (changing the names accordingly):
    sym.YourSoundName = new buzz.sound("audio/YourSoundName", {formats: [ "ogg", "mp3" ]});
    sym.YourSoundName.bind('loadeddata', function(e){
         var stage = Edge.getComposition(compId).getStage();
    Then whenever you want to play a certain sound just use: sym.getComposition().getStage().YourSoundName.play(); on a trigger.
    Hope this helps
