Is there a way to adjust audio 'tone' on a VO? (ie deepen a voice)

I'm piecing together a corporate video, and want the VO to sound deeper - does anyone know if there is a way to do this? I'm working with FCP HD 4.5.

my god, you've solved it! all I needed was to see the word "pitch" and I was able to find it - and it's hilarious! hopefully I will be able to play with it and make it sound realistic, just to lower the pitch a notch and save myself the pain of re-recording the vo - Thanks so much for your help!
for the record, it's really too funny, I recommend playing with this filter!

A way to adjust audio when capturing video?

I transfered some video/audio and am having distortion in some audio.
The original audio does not peak and when I captured it in Premiere CS6, it is not peaking out, but when I play back, I can hear occasional distortion. The video is up at:

Does this sound like it is overmodulating or is something else happening?

How are you capturing the content? Because in my experince premiere doesn't have a way to adjust the audio levels of what your capturing. However if you post how you are capturing the footage in more detail I might be able to help. Please tell me exactly how you have everything hooked up.
For example if you have the camera hooked straight to the computer or if you're using a capture card if so what kind. Some capture cards have audio gain settings which might be causing the issue. Also some decks and cameras have audio playback volume settings which can also cause audio to be sent to premiere louder than what it started as. So if you give more detail I may be able to offer some sort of help.
One thing you might try though to remove that distortion is too add a lowpass filter to the audio, and start off by setting the low pass filter to like 3000 and just adjust by 500 up or down from there until the distortion goes away. I've had to do this in the past with audio that's distorted before. (Although I haven't experinced the specific issue you're experincing before.) Although it will make the persons voice sound muffled it will take most of the distortion out. Which getting rid of distortion at the cost of making it sound somewhat muffled is a decent trade off if worse comes to worse and you can't get the issue figured out.

I am working in Adobe Premiere CS6 and all of the audio is out of wack. Is there a way to adjust all of it at the same time to the same level or do I have to go clip by clip?

I had made Feature Requests to "gang" several Track sliders, like one can with a mixing board. However, the Sub-Mixes handles that nicely, as was pointed out to me by Adobe.

Is there a way to adjust volume and equalizer settings for whole computer

Hello,
I am well aware of the ability to adjust the equalizer for sound output in iTunes but is there a way to do this for the whole computer? Sometimes I stream talk radio programs over the internet and the stream is handled by the internet sites own window server rather than iTunes. As a result I can't adjust the sound to a "spoken word" setting or equivalent like I can in itunes. I play the audio through a standard set of computer speakers that don't have Bass Treble adjustments. Is there a way to adjust the sound as it leaves the computer through the headphone jack (a system wide equalizer). This would also be useful on my desktop which I use as a TV to watch DVD's. There is no equalizer to adjust the sound to make it more appropriate for "spoken word".

Hi cris2121, assuming you're using a mouse from apple, go to >System Preferences<
it's here where one can configure a mouse device.
Additionally you can also configure Scrubbing in Logic: "When in scrub mode, you can slowly move the playhead in the Tracks Window and the Audio (and optional MIDI) will be played back. The playback speed depends on how fast you move the Playhead in either direction."

This is my first go at this so be kind,
My question concerns launchpad. Coming from Snow Leopard I had been using spaces. I like to keep certain bundles of programs on separate desktops, for example all word processing related tasks in one place. I have set up the equivalent on Yosemite.
My problem is concerns the loss of exposé. Now I know when you swipe into launch pad you get a very similar effect but the issue I am having concerns the "zoom out" effect when you swipe into launchpad. With exposé all open apps/pages etc would be fully exposed - in my case several (sometimes as many as 9 word documents). What I am running into is when I do this in / into launch pad the "pile" of docs is exposed but they are still overlapping so I can't get a good look at which is which and visually identify where I want to navigate to.
My question is this; Is there a way to adjust the settings on launchpad so that when I swipe into it all the open apps/pages are fully separated (like in exposé) so that I can fully view all of them simultaneously? If so, instructions on how to do so would be greatly appreciated. Any alternative suggestions to doing this outside of launchpad are also welcome. If there is an exposé app for example, I would be quite willing to go that route.
My main concern is being able to quickly (ie a touchpad gesture) expand all the open pages so I can bounce between them.

Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

Is there a way to digitize audio using the headphone input on the 15-inch (late 2013) Macbook Pro with Retina display?

I'd like to digitize audio from a minidisc player into my 15-inch (late 2013) Macbook Pro with retina display, but can't see a way to change the internal mic input. I understand that previous MacBooks allowed the headphone jack to double as a mic input, but mine doesn't seem capable of switching. I've tried using a mini to mini cable, with no luck, and also tried using a headset splitter adapter (3.5 mm 4-pin to 2x3-pin 3.5 mm headset splitter adapter from Amazon) because I read that that would allow me to plug in headphones and input audio. But in both cases, the only "input" available in my sound preferences is the built-in internal microphone. Am I missing something? Is there a way to digitize audio through the headphone jack?

Not likely. headphone jacks are usually output only devices unless specifically stated to support input, and even then, it may not be audio input that they support, but merely control input for volume and such.
You can get a USB audio input instead. i.e:

I would also like this issue addressed.
I am using a Plantronics Voyager Pro+ and when it is connected to my iPhone 4, email and text sounds are not audible through the phone. The phone just vibrates when a new text or email is received.
I don't really care if it plays through the headset, but it should at least play through the phone. I tested the headset from a BlackBerry and the alerts play fine.

Edit the same as you would a video clip. Highlight the audio clip by clicking on it, then select the place you want to edit it with the playhead, go to EDIT and select Split Audio Clip at Playhead.

What is the best way to adjust audio on Final Cut Pro, Quicktime self-contained export? Please note all render files and orginals master clip are gone. So adjustments will need somehow be made to the exported Quicktime file.

Toggle Loop to ON
Set an In and Out in the timeline then select Play In to Out.
If you can't find these commands in the Menu Bar or are looking for the keyboard commands, use Help.

I am sorry to hear about the screen issues. To clarify, do you only notice the screen proportion difference when in a certain application? By to long or wide are you stating that parts of the screen images are cut off? Please provide details
