Is there a way to alphabetize apps in Launchpad?

The subject says it all.  Is dragging apps around the only option for alphabetizing in Launchpad?

  • Is there a way to hide apps from the app store? I don't want my kids to see those "free" apps that nag you to spend real money and download their other apps! I can hide them from "purchased apps", but they still show up when browsing for new apps!

Is there a way to hide them so that my kids will never see them when looking for new apps?

Not other than parental oversight. On the computer you can implement Parental Controls on a separate user account that they would use. You can then block certain websites. But you cannot do that on the iPad.
You could change your iTunes account such that they cannot access it in order to buy or download apps.

  • Is there a way to view apps as a list instead of icons?

Is there a way to view apps as a list instead of icons?

Doesn't anyone else have this desire?
It seems most people are used to seeing lists on all desktop computers. I almost never see anyone viewing files as icons when doing serious work. I'm stumped as to why this would not be an option for the iphone.
Can anyone offer a reason why Apple would confine us to icon view for apps?
Imagine if you could only view your contacts as icons? Or your itunes tracks?
    Come on, what gives?

  • Is there another way to close apps other than deleting them from the multitask bar.....I have a small crack in the bottom of my screen and that part of the screen does not recognize the touch.  :(

Is there another way to close apps other than deleting them from the multitask bar.....I have a small crack in the bottom of my screen and that part of the screen does not recognize the touch.

There's generally no reason to be closing them that way at all. The apps you see in the recents bar are just that, apps that you used recently. Most of them are doing absolutely nothing. The only apps that are really doing anything in the background are ones that play music and ones that are using location services. Just leave them be.
    Best of luck.

  • Is there a way to prevent apps from reopening on startup?

I like to shut my computer down without closing each app but I don't want to have them all reopen on start up.
Is there a way to prevent apps from reopening on startup without having to close them all before shutting down?
I found the checkbox to prevent apps from opening in their previous state but they still open to their previous state after a restart.
    Thank you in advance,

  • Is there a way to alphabetize events as they appear under 'Photos' in the source list?

When I click 'Photos' under the source list, I can see all of the events as I labeled them. Is there a way to alphabetize them by name? It looks like that are in order by the date they were created. I've tried everything and can't figure it out, so any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Larry,
thanks for the quick reply. I was able to alphabetize them in event view. I guess there's no way to alphabetize them in photos view?

I am new to iPad. Is There a way to stop apps running in the background or is resets only option. Don't know what Teresa has to do with it

Close inactive apps in the background. No need to reset.
Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.

  • Is there any way an iPhone app developer can implement low power class 3 Bluetooth?

Is there any way an iPhone app developer can implement low power class 3 Bluetooth?

Ah-HA!  I knew there had to be a way!
Not quite the same in 10.6, but close enough to find it:
    It's iTunes>apps, not iTunes>iPhone>apps.  I didn't realize there were different windows.
Not double-click, but control-click.  Close enough.
Easy-Peasy, now that you showed me how.
    Thanks, Barry.

  • Is there a way to control brightness in launchpad?

Is there a way to control brightness in launchpad?   I have two administrative accounts, one in English and the other in Japanese because I sometimes need to install Japanese language software that requires this.  The strange thing is that the launchpad screens are very dark in this second account, and I have not been able to correct this.  Any suggestions?

  • Is there a way of locking app folders in iphone?

I have found a lot of app fro locking pictures and files, contacts, etc, Is there a way of locking down a folder that contains apps? Say i don't want someone opening my facebook app or other apps I have. Any help is appreciated.

Unless the app has some sort of passcode written into it, no, you can't lock it. You can't lock folders.
If you don't want someone using your Facebook app, you can log out of it.

  • Is there a Way to lock apps or disable the home button?

I often allow my 16 month old to play toddler games on my iPhone. He knows how to slide his finger to unlock the phone and he loves pressing and holding the home button to activate Siri so he can talk to her! LOL! I am worried that he will accidently delete or move an app to another screen by accident so is there a way to prevent that from happening. Also while he plays his games, he likes to press the home button which closes him out of his game. Is there a way to disable the home button so he can just stay within his toddler games?

You can use Guide Access to restrict your child to using a single app. See:
