Is there a way to assign Color Spaces in AME (Adobe Media Encoder) CC?

I am trying to output h.264 video for a web project and cannot seem to get sRGB color match when rendering out from AE.
I see it in AE's native renderer, but not in AME.
Thanks.

AME (and Premiere Pro) does not support color management in the way that After Effects does. Via Dynamic Link, which is how AME reads After Effects comps, the color-space-adjusted pixels are not corrected for screen display.
To get the results you want, add an adjustment layer to the top of the layer stack in the comp and apply the Color Profile Converter effect. Set the Output Profile to Rec.709 (sRGB is practically identical and will also work, but Dynamic Link uses Rec.709 internally so is a better match). This forces After Effects to transform the adjusted pixels into a non-linearized color space that looks correct.
Note that while the CPC effect is active and View > Display Color Management is enabled (it is enabled by default), this extra layer of color transforms will make the comp appear incorrect in After Effects, at the same time the comp will now look correct in AME or Premiere Pro. Disable Display Color Management to make the appearance of the comp in After Effects match what you see in AME or Premiere Pro. While working on the comp, however, you probably want to work with Display Color Management enabled and the adjustment layer disabled.
Under the hood, when color management is enabled in After Effects, the pixels it writes into the cache include the appropriate color transforms for the settings you have chosen. When the comp is displayed in the Composition panel in After Effects, an additional transform is added to the screen buffer pixels (not the pixels in the cache) to make it look correct on your computer screen, or not if you have disabled Display Color Management. When the pixels are read through Dynamic Link, no display color management happens, nor does AME or Premiere Pro apply any, so you get the same appearance as having Display Color Management disabled in After Effects.
Make sense?

Is there any way to assign colored labels to events without having to create numerous calendars?

You can use numactl to lock any process to a NUMA node, but that only helps if your machine really is NUMA (AMD Opteron servers are, Itanium systems often are).
You should be able to enumerate nodes using:
    numactl -H
And lock the process to a node using for instance:
    numactl cpubind=$node_num membind=$node_num java MyClass
It is hardware dependent how many CPUs and how much memory you have per node. A common number of CPUs is 1-4 sockets.

No. Sell the 8gb and buy one with more capacity.

  • What is the proper way to do Color Space Defaults?

What is the proper way to do Color Space Defaults?   let the color checker chart fill the whole frame or just put the  color checker chart in  front or aside items or people we are gonna shoot?

I"m not sure how to use this through Direct Link ... as the timeline including all color-space things are locked down. Perhaps going through Sg in a "native" launch with some of the footage, though it would have to be in a codec Sg takes in "native" ... then doing the color chart thing, creating a Look from it, and then applying that in Direct Link sessions might be the process ... but yea, Dennis Weinmann, some advice here?

  • HT2500 Why is there no way to assign Junk Mail to a Spam file in my Yahoo?

Why is there no way to assign Junk Mail to a Spam file in my OSX Mail App - Yahoo account. I can do it online at Yahoo, but not thru OSX Mail App? And why is there no 'NOT JUNK' button to restore items mistakenly sent to Junk Mail? There is in the G-mail file on the App (I think!).

There normally is a thumbs up button in the top of the e-mail which allows you to mark it as not junk. The screen shot shows a thumbs down, but replace that with a thumbs up.

  • Is there a way to assign CPU limitations to a specific software ?

Is there a way to assign CPU limitations to a specific software ?
For example.. when I launch a render.. I don't care if it takes 4hours or 6hours... I prefer that some CPU is kept free so not to slow down the rest of my activities during the day. Is there a way to assign to a specific application a maximum in CPU usage? Or maybe just one core?
Obviously I am asking this for applications that don't have this option internally... I've seen some that let you choose single or dual core for example.
Is there an external software (?) a OS setting (?) or so to do this?

I found this where they also speak about RENICE...

To me is greek.. but seems ok.. I don't understand if the other CPU is freed for other apps or is  "blocked" in some way (making this useless for my needs)

  • Is there a way to free up space without sync?

I'm currently traveling and therefore unable to sync to my desktop as I normally do. While on the road I've taken a few photos, etc., and now find I'm running out of space. Subsequently, I've deleted a couple of large apps I never use, and several old photos I know I have stored, but my iPhone is still showing as full. Apparently, the files I've deleted aren't really gone until I sync? It will be some time until I'm home again and able to access my desktop. Is there a way to free up space without a sync, or am I stuck with a full phone until I return?

You can import the photos taken with the iPhone to another computer as long as you
TURN OFF auto-sync on the other computer first. Then delete them and that should free up space for you.
You would import the photos off the iPhone to the computer just like you would from a digital camera.
    THen burn them to CD/DVD.

  • Color Spaces CIE and Adobe RGB

Looking at monitor specs, usually, the color space of the monitor is given in terms of a target color space, like 96% Adobe RGB. Some give several, but along comes Dell, u2412, and they supply one: 82% CIE.
I know what CIE is, but making a guesstimate from the Dell spec requires more than what I presently know about such matters.
So, what are the expectations? Is that a meaningful spec for comparison sake? IOW, how much does Adobe RGB enclose CIE 1976?
    TIA
    Lawrence

    I went back to here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/916368?start=0&tstart=0
and ran some of those checks with the various presentations. Also, embarrassingly, I did know about the site but failed to go back when I looked for any test results for the 2412.
    sic transit Gloria!
I also generated  a step tablet in PS, as well as doing several calibration reruns. I did a calibration in "Standard"ode and one in "Custom" where I had access to RGB controls.
TFT Central did the same and claimed that the Custom was more troublesome and didn't yield any significant improvement. I beg to differ!
Also, they made available the results of the Standard and Custom as an ICC profile for users and I defy anyone to tell me there is no significant difference. Between my two calibrations and TFT's, I have 4 flavors from which to choose. Wow! I'm impressed (NOT!)
At any rate I settled on using my custom version as it shows the most neutral gray. It also showed the smaller dE both average and max deviation, 0.34 and 1.2 respectively, the only one exceeding 1.0. It also was close to the factory default than the others.
What a way to run a railroad!
The other fussbudget item is X-Rite. I doesn't like calibrating LCD. It manages to skip over steps along the way, and if I hadn't the experience and expectations step to step with my crt, I would probably be returning the Dell at this time. The differences from the data pov between my Custom and Average should be barely visible, but in fact, it is visually significant. Normal conclusions would hold the monitor at fault.
    Off to contact X-Rite.

  • Is there a way to apply LUTS to clips while in Adobe Media Encoder

is there a way to apply LUTS to clips while in Adobe Media Encoder? We have many  camera clips needing luts applied then wrapped to ProRes422 for editing. right now we are using after effects, rendering out then wrapping in Encoder, but this workflow is quite time consuming. We've tried rendering proRes out of AE but the boss isn't happy with the results without also going through Encoder.

No, there is not a way to apply color changes (e.g., using LUTs) in Adobe Media Encoder. Do this in After Effects, but just add your After Effects compositions directly to the Adobe Media Encoder encoding queue (e.g., by choosing File > Add After Effects Composition in the AME UI).

  • Is there a way to play flv & mkv file formats through media element in windows 8.1 app ?

i am trying to develop a video player so i just thought Is there a way to play flv & mkv file formats through media element in windows 8.1 app ? , coz when i tried media element it is supporting only mp4 & avi formats.

Here is a list of Media Foundation codecs
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd757927(v=vs.85).aspx
For the rest of the formats you have you write your own MFT-based codec and ship the codec with your app. See also
    implementing a Codec MFT (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd757274(v=vs.85).aspx)
    Media extensions sample (https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/Media-extensions-sample-7b466096)
MKV and FLV are just container formats, though, you need to survey some video files to see what video codecs are actually in streams and support them one by one. Supporting some proprietary video formats may involve licensing costs from patent holders.
