Is there a way to batch export in FCE HD?

I'm working on some video where each export is around 30 minutes long. I'm exporting all of them in the same format. Currently, I create the first 30 minute clip on the timeline and then export it. After waiting for that to finish, which is at least an hour, I create the next clip the same way. Is there a way to create all my clips and then export all of them at once in sequence? I'd like to save my rendering for the nighttime while I'm sleeping. No since in letting the computer sleep if I can make it work while I'm sleeping!

It would help if you could explain your goals. You may be doing it the hard way, but my recommendations may not be appropriate for what you are trying to do.
You can create multiple sequences and export each sequence, but I don't think you can render multiple sequences at one time. I've never tried to do that. You could also assemble all of your clips in a single sequence and use the in and out points to select which "clip" you want to export from the sequence. This would allow you to render everything at once, for sure.
However, I'm not clear on the problem. If the problem is the time it takes to export each clip and the fact that you must start each export manually, then I'd have to ask why each export takes 1 hour. You may be able to export just a reference movie, and use Compressor to batch encode all of your clips, if that is the time killer.
Again, if you can tell me a little more about your target format, and target requirements, someone might be able to offer time saving suggestions.
A reference movie makes a quick export, but you must be able to keep your rendered files until the final encoding process has completed.

    There are two ways to do this:
    1) Create a develop preset and apply it during import of images.
    In the Develop Module apply the settings you want to one image and then click on the <+> sign in the Presets panel (on the left side) and save your settings under a descriptive name. In the import dialog on the right side in the panel <Apply during Import> select the preset that you created. It will be applied to all imported photos. 
    2) In the Develop Module apply your settings to one image then select all the other images you want the same setting applied - but your first image should remain active - to and press <Sync>. A dialog will appear that lets you select the settings you want applied to all images.

    If you launch Script Editor and open the Help menu, you will see the APpleScript Help and a Language Guide:
    To see, which commands an application understands, open the File menu in Script editor and select Open Dictionary.  In the list locate "Photos".

    I want to take a partial export dump containing only few objects of a particular schema in Oracle 10g DB.
    I am trying to use "exp" utility for this.
    The parfile used for this is as follows:
    FILE=CSG_Objects.dmp
    FULL=n
    ROWS=y
    COMPRESS=y
    INDEXES=y
    TRIGGERS=y
    CONSTRAINTS=y
    LOG=export_CSG_Objects.log
    TABLES=table1,table2,table3...
    With this I can only export tables but not other objects like views, procedures, sequences etc.
    If I try to use other object name in TABLES list, I get errors.
    Is there any way I could export other "selected" objects also?

    There are 4 modes in exp and expdp. You can specify
    full=y which will get all objects in the database
    schemas = list which will get alll of the objects in these schemas
    tables = list which get all of the tables in your list plus all of the objects dependent
    on these tables
    tablespaces=list which finds all fo the tables in those tablespaces and then does a table mode
    export for the table list, including dependent objects.
    Other than excluding/included a few objects, original exp does not have a way to specifically include certain objects. This was one of the enhancements to datapump expdp/impdp.
    If you are running 10.1 or later, you can use datapump export/import. Now, you can do a table mode export and put in an include/exclude list.
    include=tables,grants,table_statistics
    or
    exclude grants, index_statistics
    If you let us know what you are trying to include or exclude, it would be easier to come up with a solution.

  • Is there a way to batch change tags in folders?

    I am cleaning up from a data loss in one of my external HDD that held my photos.  I am trying to add tags to the recovered photos and was wondering if there was an easier way to do this other than selecting one photo at a time and adding the tag.  When I shift click on more than one item and then get info, all of the selected items widows open up individually.  Is there a way to enter the tag info once and have it applied to all selected items?  Heck, Im not even
    one quarter of the way finished yet with a long way to go.  Help of any kind would be appreciated.

    What sort of tag are you wanting to add. 
    Are you going to use iPhoto to manage those photos. If you you an batch add keywords, descriptions and titles to the photos. Those metadata can be written to the image file if you need to use them outside of iPhoto. 
    If you're referring to tags for the files then you'll have to use a 3rd party app.  Go to MacUpdate.com and search for "tag files" or something similar to see what comes up.

    I have more than 100 .stap files that I'd like to turn into AIFFs but I'd really rather not have to manually Save As... all of them. Is there a way I can do them all in a batch?

    I tried doing a Save a Copy As... and then after that doing a Save as AppleScript, but when I try running the Applescript no new AIFF files are created.
    I bet it is possible to create an AppleScript to do this, but I'm not good at creating scripts from scratch. Oh well.

    An easy way is to open Bridge, select the images then click on Tools/Image processor.  You can then save as jpg, psd, or tiff.

    As Chenks says... just create a genre for them.... just RT-Click on the home movies (can actually multi-select all of then and do them all at once) and change the genre to "home" or whatever you'd like and then when you go to AppleTV go to Genres > "Home" and they will all appear together there.

    I made a slideshow on iMovie using the bumper in the theme "Reflection Black," but it was rather hard to focus on the photos and was a bit rigid between each set.
    Then I exported my slideshow to iDVD and used the reflection black menu. The photos turned out way clearer on the menu and it ran very smoothly!!
    I know this is a silly question, but is there any way I can just export the menu without adding an actual movie file to it?
    I was going to put it on our website and only need a very short clip, so the menu would suffice.

    Welcome to the forums.
    You could use Snap Z Pro to do a video screen capture while the "menu" is playing and convert that movie into a format for the web.

    We use Discoverer to report off of an ODS. We are moving from ODS 3.1 to ODS 8.
    Is there a way to mass download the reports into ODS 8.
    My idea at this time, would be to individually save as the query to a folder on server.
    Then open another Discoverer instance, sign to ODS 8, open the query from server and do save as to database.
    This would take time ....

      I have a couple hundred photos that need to be resized and named. I've got a PS action that resizes them, but is there a way to also have them pull the name from an Excel (or other type) of list?

    Well this is bare bones but may help… As is it just reads a list from text file… Gets the JPEGs of a given folder and re-names them… Should be an easy edit to adjust to your needs… It does nothing to check anything adds up… What file formats do you have and do the new names already have proper extension…?
