Is there a way to "boost" the sound of MP3?

Hi,
When I save my music as MP3, I obviously lose a lot of sound quality. Yet, I heard other people's MP3s and sometimes they sound really good (louder & clearer). Is possible to get the same effect from Logic? If yes, how?

hi again, loud is not good, in and by itself.
anya, your probs are systemic.
get the vox and arrangement right, then worry about the mix.
tip: if a mix has too many frequencies clumped in one band, they will be aggrevated by further processing.
balance, balance, balance.
if your monitoring ain't cuttin' it, you'll never hear the faults.
if you live in a flat or with others you've got problems from the ground up.
you must take the acoustic out of small rooms. deaden them as BeeJay said.
drawback: pitching becomes a prob due to lack of reflections.
your music has potential, but getting that last 15% pro quality is a huge ask for all but the most well heeled of us.
you mp3's are a direct reflection of your engineering skills and your awareness of all things musical.
atm, i have 6 lovely ladies doing demos/finals here.
they vary in experience and talent. all are bright people. none are "sarah mclaughlin" but they are willing to improve their art.
it is my job to make them sound a pro as possible - i start with the vocal (no music. - if they can't sing it solo, they can't sing it.
THEN come the arrangements.
one more thing......... squashing your mix will make it sound weaker and blurred. so, use no lim/comp if you can.
