Is there a way to change the size of my photos so they don't use up my iCloud storage?

I noticed that my pictures have a very high pixel ratio and therefore takes up alot of space in iCloud.
I know that that once they have been saved to my laptop I can change the ration then but that doesn't affect the storage space in iCloud.
Any suggestions?

Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage.  Your backups are listed at the top, along with their sizes.  Note: this will only list your most current backup.  You may have your previous two backups available too but you cannot access any size information about them.

    Double click the tools in the Tools Palette to open their Option dialogs. Change the size there.
    Also, try pressing the Alt or Alt and Shift key while using the Liquify tools.

    pls note: i am techno-incompetent and may not use the correct name or term.
    in internet explorer, when you click on a picture in ebay to enlarge it, there is a scale in the toolbar (?) in the lower right corner of the screen that allows you to change the size of the picture. is there some way (or tool or add-on or whatever) that will let me do that in firefox?

    I'm not sure, but I think the change was using the font "Segoe UI" instead of "Tahoma", and maybe, Lucida Grande.
    I haven't tried it, but I assume you can edit the fonts, which are specified in (basically) a text file (at least, for iTunes 10).
    Make a backup of the file before you edit anything (or you can repair/reinstall if you mess it up). See the following post for some more info:

    You'll want to edit the "font", not the "xp-font". I can't tell you what fonts will work.

  • Is there a way to change the size of a menu background?

    I would like to use my own photo as a menu background and reduce it's size to less than the full size of the menu.
    The photo selection sticks over a save and re-open but the size of the object reverts to the full menu size when the project is reloaded.

    If I were replacing a Background in a Menu Set, and only wanted it to occupy a smaller area, than say 720 x 480 for an NTSC DV Menu, I would go to Photoshop, Set my Background Color to black, do New Image, and choose the NTSC 720 x 480 (Standard, or Widescreen, as required) w/ Guides. Then I would Open my desired Image, drag it to that New Image, and Scale with with Free Transforming (Ctrl+T), to fill the area that I want, Flatten and Save_As PSD. That would be the Image that I would use for the Menu Set.
    Now, if you wish to see some of the original Background, around your smaller Image, there are two methods to accomplish that. As the structure of PrE's Menu Sets are Layered PSD's, and that structure is very strict, I am not sure if there would be issues with either of these ways.
    Do the same, as above, but choose Transparent for the Background. Then Save_As PSD, to use the Transparency in the PrE Menu Editor. If that does not work, move to #2.
    Do the same, as above, choosing Transparency for the Background. Open one of the PrE Menu Set Menu PSD's, and drag its Background to your New Image. Drag your Image over that, and Scale, as required. Save_As PSD, and drag that to the Menu Set in the Menu Editor.
    To work with Menu Sets, that do not allow one to add a Background Image, one could Open the MM (Main Menu), and the SS (Scene Select) PSD's in PS. Then, one would basically do the drag operation from above, to add their Image over the Background. I would then Save_As PSD, without Flattenng (very Important), and increment the first part of the name in some way. Do not alter the last part of the Menu Set's MM, or SS file names (very important). Create a New Folder in the DVD Menu Library sub-folder hierarchy, and name it something like "My Menus." Before you close out PS, Flatten each the MM and the SS, go to Image>Image Size, choose 160 x 128, and create PNG's the same Image Size of the other PNG's in the Menu Sets' folders. Note the required file naming convention for those PNG's also. Increment the beginning of the file name, to match what you did above. Place those PNG's (they are the "thumbnails" in the Menu Set Viewer) in that New Folder, that you created. When you start PrE, and go to Create Menus, your New Folder should show in the drop-down, where you placed it.
    Note: NEVER Save_As the exact same name, as your DVD Template Menu Sets' name, or you will overwrite those Menu Sets. The only way to get them back is to reinstall the Functional Content material.
    If you get lost, do not hesitate to look at the naming conventions in PrE, as a guide. Same thing for the Layer Set order. The structure is VERY important. Though I do this a lot, I still need to use one of the Library Menu Sets, as a reference guide. There is little latitude in the file naming, and almost none in the Layer Set order. It's the same for the folder/sub-folder structure.

    PS - The same instructions should work fine in PSElements, but as I do not know, or have, that program, I cannot be 100% certain. With the above operations, one should not run up against one limitation of PSE - its inability to create Layer Sets (the Buttons). However, PSE can edit Layer Sets - just not create them.

    I am using Captivate 8. I have a slide with a lot of smart shapes that are the same - size, color, etc.  If I want to make them all smaller, and still with the exact same dimensions, can I do it all at once.  In other words, can i save size into a style?

    Size is never included in a style for a shape.
    If you want to apply the resizing to all shapes, you can use the small flyout menu after applying the resizing to one shape, and choose Apply to all items of this type.

  • Is there any way to change the document size from scene to scene?

    I'm building a portfolio site, but I need the document size to be different from each scene.  I'd rather not create a separate swf/html file for each page since that would disrupt the transition between scenes (not to mention all the wok I went through to get the dropdown menus working).
    For instance, the "home" scene is structured for 1200x670 px, but the portfolio scene labeled "published" needs to be at 1200x1500px.
    Is there any way to change the document size from scene to scene?  OR; If, for instance, I made the universal document size 1200x1500 for the entire flash file, is there a script that would restrict the "home" scene to only show the first 670 pixels?

    you may be able to do what you want using javascript in your html document and using the externalinterface class to communicate between your actionscript the embedding html javascript.

  • Is there a way to change the pinch-to-zoom feature?

    Is there a way to change the behavior of pinch-to-zoom in Safari 5.1.4 on Lion?  It seems to have adopted the iOS zoom (where it's a zoom into an area on the page) and I would prefer that it emulated a Command-+ type of page zoom.  When using pinch-to-zoom in a site like Gmail or Google Reader, the content ends up requiring horizontal scrolling if you pinch-to-zoom... while Command-+ increases the size of everything but keeps it within a single screen.
    Can this be done?  Is there the equivalent of the about:config page from Firefox?
    Apple... can you fix this (or offer an option to determine how pinch-to-zoom works in Safari)?!?!

    I have searched for a solution to change the order of my tags and haven't found it.
    I add multiple tags to my emails and the color at a glance means something to me - if I add an earlier, more up the priority ladder it shows that color instead of the one that I want. I'm rambling but the fact remains that I would like to be able to change the tag priority.

    As you may remember there used to be a Messages pane to the Preferences where the Font and colour of the Balloons or background and the Font text colour could be changed.
    And there was a Format Menu for character, word and Sentence changes in the current IM or iMessage.
    Those have gone in Yosemite's version of Messages (Despite it retaining the designation of Messages 8 the same as Mavericks' version).
    All that can be done now is set the size of the font and this has been moved to the General Section of the Preferences.
    The Yosemite version has also been fixed to using the Balloons style of send and receiving any type of messages as well.
    Changing the Font would involved editing the Balloon.transcript file.

    Looks like you didn't get a reply on your post, but it is still a problem.  Font size is supposedly changeable via "Accessibility" in Settings, but it doesn't work.  You can turn on "Zoom".

    Personally I would avoid optimizing the PDF's via Adobe Acrobat Pro unless you understand what you are removing from the PDF; having said that, it is the most effective way to reduce the file-size in the right hands.
    If I am sending out layouts for commercial print I change my default Print / Export setting from Standard to PDF/A-1b:2005 (CMYK). This will resolve a lot of common print problems for print-ready documents and it should embed your fonts and flatten transparencies etc.
    If your document is still too large you run an Audit Space Usage using Adobe Acrobat Pro. In the left pane enable 'Content' and then hit the button in the top left corner of the Content Pane and choose Audit Space Usage.

    Is there a way to change the cursor hotspot on Mountain Lion, systemwide?
    Like editing the original cursor file (or downloading one) and replacing the original one?
    Reason: when I enlarge the arrow, the "absoulute" tip (top of the white outline) gets distant from the internal tip (top of the black core), so sometimes the white outline needs to stick out if I want to click the approprate area - because the hotspot is on the internal tip. To me it's counter-intuitive. I would prefer to have the hotspot on the absolute edge of the cursor (tip of the white outline). This is not debatable - this is my private preference, and I've read today that it's not only mine - there is a number of users who want the same.
    I know it's always been like this on Macs, so please avoid questions like "why to you want that", answers like "get used to it" or any kind of hostility, for these are useless. The quiestion is how can I change it, if possible.

    I don't know how you get to the System folder in Mavericks; and even if I found the folder with the alternative cursors in it, I would have no way of switching to any of them.  The designers have obviously not anticipated that anyone would wish to do this.
    The System Preferences has an adjustment under Accessibilty which allows the user to change the size of the cursor, but nothing else.
    So I guess that there is no way to make the change without actually re-engineering the System somehow.
    If someone can find a way, I will be most pleased to be enlightened; only please make the directions explicit.
