Is there a way to collapse the library history view so instead of seeing individual entries they are all grouped by Today, Yesterday, This Week, etc.?

In a previous version of Firefox, when I brought up history using Ctrl+Shift+H, the library would show my history collapsed into Today, Yesterday, This Week, etc. In the current version of Firefox I am using, it shows each individual entry. Is there a way to change this view?

There are two panes one on the left one on the right.
*The right-hand one shows content of folders from the tree on the left.
*Clicking the black arrow-head on the clock denoting the top of the History collapses or expands that part of the tree.
*Clicking the clock itself displays the top content on the right i.e. it will display the folders for Today etc.
*Click any folder and the content of that folder then displays on the right.If you have used the browser quite a bit you probably need to scroll the righthand pane to see all the content.
The bookmarks are also within folders that behave in a similar manner. With certain viewing options you will even see that type of behaviour when looking at some Windows files and folders.

Is there a way to delete the Library Slide Show? It references a lot of old images that are no longer on my hard drive, and it looks like it will take ages to click on Cancel for every no-longer-existant image. Can I delete the whole slide show somehow? (It won't let me do it from within the program as far as I can see).

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Then try deleting the library again.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

No.
Unless you or someone else using the phone is clearing the history, resting data, or restoring the phone, the Safari history doesn't get deleted. If someone else may be doing this, you can enable a restriction on Safari:
Settings > General > Restrictions > Enable Restrictions > Safari > On

Is there a way to structure the library

Hi All,
I would love to be able to have a more flexible overview of all my files in the Library. I have it sorted by Artist. The list is quite long and if I am looking for a song by U2, I have to scroll and scroll, just to get to the letter U.
Is there a way to "collapse" all the songs and only show the artist, scroll down to the right one and "open" that artist only. And maybe collapse all the albums aswell.
So then you would have 1 line per artist, open it and have 1 line per album, open an album and have all the songs listed.
It seems such a simple thing, but I can't find out if I can do it or how.

Have you tried using the Browse option? Clicking on the browse Eye icon on top the right of the screen will make three panes appear, Genre, Artist and Album. You can use these to filter the Library view. By clicking on a particular Artist for instance the view of you Library will change and you will just see works by that Artist you are interested in. In Elements 8, is there a way to save the undo history?

Often times, I cannot evaluate how a filter etc, will effect a picture until after it is printed out. If I close the file, the undo history is wiped out. Is there a way to export the undo list to a text file or something similar so that I can review it afterwards. Right now, I used a pen and paper to record each change but sometimes I get sloppy. Thanks in advance.

No, unfortunately the ability to save history as a text file is only in full photoshop. Some people take a screenshot of the undo history palette, but of course that only gives the steps you took, not the settings for each one.

Is there a way to collapse the timeline?

I've been doing a lot of grading in DaVinci Resolve lately, and I really love the way it allows you to collapse the timeline and show only the monitor and your grading controls. Is there any way to do this in Speedgrade?
It's kind of silly that you can resize the grading area at the expense of monitor real-estate, but you can't get rid of the timeline!!! I don't want to see the seven layers of video that I have. I want to see what I'm working on!!!

I've also "skipped over" and put in a request for a curves control. I want that as THE MOST IMPORTANT CHANGE TO SPEEDGRADE for me ... and yes, I'm shouting alright!
When I first started working in Sg, I thought those wheels were RAD-COOL-MARVY! Even went right out and got a good trackball so I can use the spinning wheel to do the luminosity and the ball for color changes. Yea, this was awesome!
But then ... saw a few tutorials where the teach was using programs with curves options ... and um ... tried that within AE.
Cool as the wheels are, working with a good-sized curve, one gets an amazing visual-feedback loop on what you're doing, and ... what you do, does. In fact, I was able to start predicting what any change I'd do would make, far above the ability I yet have working the wheels. There are times I've taken things to AE to do the color grade, simply because it was difficult footage and I'd do it better and faster using the curves controls. Even given the um ... less than perfect? ... application of scopes in AE.
Now, back to the original topic ... yea, I think I'd better put in a request for a way to show/hide the timeline also ... much of the time, I don't have TIME to worry about the timeline! (yea, quoting Ms. Troi there). Having a larger monitor would be fantastic ... and no, I don't have the dollar bills sitting around right now to just go out and buy a nice 24" or better high-end monitor ... oh, yea, and a few hundred more for the nifty Nvidia graphics card Adobe insists we buy to do it with also ... sigh ...

..."fit to page" + "two pages per screen - but only if there's room for two"?
In other words, I want the page to fit in the screen upon initial view, but I also see a lot of wasted real estate all around that could, most of the time, fit a second page. However, I don't want the two pages to count against the "fit" -- meaning, on narrower screens, the priority should go to fitting the first page (and not showing the 2nd) rather than fit both pages at all costs.
Is there any way to ask Acrobat to do this?

The initial view (IV) settings within a PDF file are static tags - they can't be made to dynamically-adapt based on the window dimensions,it's the renderer (Acrobat, Reader, or whatever else is opening the file) that decides if and how it will follow the IV requested by the file header.
It would be possible to use a Page Open action on the first page of the file, which does some nasty math with the various doc.*WindowRect objects to work out how much "wasted" space there is, and then set the doc.layout and doc.zoomType properties - but page actions are a different concept to IV as the zoom will reset itself every time that page is viewed. Users don't like their application apparently fiddling with the zoom level without being told to!

Is there a way to change the album page view

Since the last Itunes update frankly I find the album view with covers in iTunes rather clunky and would prefer to select the list view as previous versions allowed but can't find how to change this.Apologies if it's obvious and I'm just being dense.
It is possible to do this in the songs and playlist views so why not the Album view?
Also is anyone else having problems with the full iTunes window not sizing correctly to screen size consequently clipping off the scroll bars? Somewhat annoying!

The new Albums view has some options to control the order in which things are presented. For some strage reason these are tucked away under View > View Options which then presents a small overlay window. If the Songs list included an optional Artwork column (as iTunes used to do once upon a time) it would be an ideal solution - Songs view to give you all the columns you might want to see when organizing the library, including artwork, Albums view for a more colourful playback engine.
As it is, what you see is what you get...

HT1329 The computer which had my library on it was stolen, but I still have my fully loaded Ipod. Is there any way to download the library from my ipod? It contains much music which was loaded from cds as well as directly from itunes.

Any input on how to move a library from your ipod classic when the original computer was stolen? Especially when there is large quantities of music that is not downloaded, but uploaded from cd.

But I don't think it would be possible, exactly like you described. An extension can't do anything until Firefox is opened and running. Plus the developer would have to create a different version for every Operating System he decided to support with a feature like that - Windoze, MacOSX, and Linux - to be able to use the "System Tray".

Is there a way to set the default Initial View to Bookmarks Panel and Page on word documents that I save as PDF?

When I save my word 2013 documents as Adobe PDF I have to open the PDF up, go to File>Properties>Initial View>Navigation Tab and then set the initial view as Bookmark Panel and Page; it gets pretty tedious.
I use Save as Adobe PDF rather than Print to Adobe PDF Printer because I like being able to have the security settings automatically set.
I just want to be able to save my word document as Adobe PDF with the initial view already set as Bookmark Panel and Page, and with security, so I can send it out immediately.
Is this possible?

Is there a way to flip the pages of a document instead of scrolling?

I have got my documents into pages but was hoping instead of scrolling from page to page I could somehow change a setting or preference to be able to flip pages like in iBook. Hope someone else has had this concern or request so that I can make this work.

You can Show Thumbnails (View menu) and click on the page you want or, after you have clicked on a thumbnail to select it, use the down (and up) arrows to move to the next (or previous) page. It will be a direct cut, no effects.
If you click in a page for any reason, you will have to select the thumbnails again to resume changing pages.

My movie rental started "viewing" before the download finished and now it's counting down my 24hrs and my download has not completed. I won't have internet access that is fast enough in enough time to watch this before it expires....anything that can be done?

Try this. With the power on, unplug the unit from the wall. Wait 10 minutes and now plug the unit back into the wall outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge protector.
