Is there a way to convert an existing NTSC project to a PAL project?

I searched the Encore CS3 manual and all four Encore forums before starting this thread. Apologies if I missed the answer.
In Encore CS3, apparently one is only allowed to specify NTSC or PAL when starting a new project. If I try File->Project Settings on an existing project, I can change the Authoring Mode between DVD and Blu-ray, but the Television Standard edit box is grayed out and cannot be changed.
I often need to release projects in both NTSC and PAL standards, and it is a royal PITA to have to start a new PAL project, import the exact same assets as for my NTSC project, then rebuild all my menus, buttons, timelines, chapters, etc.
Can the conversion be done? Am I missing an obvious method? If not, why is it that the same assets can only be bound to a given standard when importing?

I understand your concern. I don't know for sure yet myself as the client had yet to mail the discs to Italy last time I talked to them.
However, I would check to see if the people on the forum are saying they won't work because they made a mistake in changing the parameters in ifoedit or if everything was correct and it still didn't play. Also, once you make the discs, even if everything is correct, they certainly won't play in American DVD players that aren't multi-region.
Also, ifoedit is a really simple free program you can download. If you google it you should be able to find it quickly.
From the quick look at the link I gave you, it looked like a rudimentary explanation of how to do it. I need to find for you the web site I found when I did this a couple months ago. I know I saved the info somewhere on my hard drive. I will try to find it later tonight after my kids go to sleep, ha!
Yes, the files you need to change are the ones that are created when you export to folder in Encore. The .VOBs and the .IFO extensioned files (that you open and edit in the program). After you change the IFO files, you can take those files including the .VOBs into a dvd burning program like nero or roxio and burn a dvd-video (not data).
If you have to change the language of the menus and all that, than you'll have to re-author the dvd in encore anyway you may as well do it through encore.

You don't state what iMac it is or what you want to use it for an external display with so we cannot answer the question. But without a bootable drive, no you cannot. However you can get the internal HD replaced or you can connect an external HD and boot from it. Without some basics about the computer it's impossible question to answer. After spendings Hours / Days loading copying masses of music ( mostly CD's) to my recently acquired i-pod touch
I'm now fast running out of space!
Most all of this was loaded using the AIFF file format - which I now realise is almost twice the file size
when compared to the Apple Loss-Less format -
I've tried selecting high/lighting tracks ( on the pod ) then select File ( top right on tab ) & then Right Click >
But the option to convert to Apple-LL is 'Greyed out' ?
How do I convert them ? ( Preferable in groups or at least Album by Album rather than starting all over from scratch! )

Yes I've tried diffrent kbps settings but as I don't know how they copare with AplesLL
it's a bit hit & miss??
Basically all my music is for Dance sessions which often get played at a fair
old volume ( to fill the hall ) which is why I've decided to get it all in one format -
Iv'e just purchased an i-Pad ( to replace my i-Pod ) as it has much larger
storage capacity. It's only a Gen1 - but is soley for music
( so not bothered about internet or watching DVD's etc )
Yes Iv'e had a Google - but it doesn't sound promising
( the few that do seem to be compatable still have problems with 'Tags' or
something to do with track lists / data ?? )
I'm gonner stick with Apple LL - It's what the i-Pad was made for ( me thinks )
Do you know what quality is used by i-Tunes it-self for it's downloads?
I ask this because if I recall correctly? Under the heading where you can
sellect kbps or AIFF etc it states " These settings do not apply to downloads"
I think what I'm trying to ascertain is - Would I get far better results by buying CD's
& manualy copying them to my i-tunes device - rather than downloading inferior versions?
My reasoning re- going this route is - I'll always have hard copies to keep ( literally )
Along with the saving grace ( & heart ache ) if/when a device fails or the system
crashes I'd risk loosing everything !

I do a lot of machine embroidery. In moving from a PC to Mac, I've learned that none of my current embroidery software is compaitible with Apple OS. I'm happy to maintain those programs on a Windows laptop, but would really like to be able to view my designs on the Mac Mini. The files are *.pes. There is an option of embedding index for faster search while converting email to a PDF .
However I am not sure that will serve your purpose or not .
I would recommend you to get in touch with Microsoft support as well .
Meanwhile I'll work on it and get back to you in case I get a desired solution .

You must go in the labview option menu, you can select 'use the local
separator' in the front side submenu (LV6i).
If you use the "From Exponential/Fract/Eng" vi, you are able to select this
opton (with a boolean) without changing the labview parameters.

Is there a way to convert DVD-VR movie into DVD-video to import in IMovie?

My husband shot 6 hours of video on a Sony DCR-DVD106E Handycam abroad, and had that burned on a dvd.
Unfortunely he shot this material with the camera in DVD-VR mode,and and now it's impossible to import and edit in IMovie. ☹ I discovered already that the camera should have been in Video-mode.
We do really need parts of the video for our work...........

It took me a while to parse your question, so please forgive me if I'm making a faulty assumption.
As near as I can understand, you have created an assignment for which participation in a general discussion (i.e., not associated with a given post) is required for completion. To simplify matters for the student, you want to offer a direct link to the required discussion.
I thought dropping a link to Course Manager's URL to the discussion would do the trick, but that did NOT work. So, we're left with having to request this feature from Apple. I encourage you to make your interest known to Apple by filling out the feedback form:

I just installed Mavericks and since I cannot access AppleWorks 6, is there a way to convert them?
I know AppleWorks 6 is old, but I have some documents that I need.

Yes, there are ways (read: you can find ways) to accomplish that, but it isn't really an intended workflow, so nothing about it is "automatic." In the time it will take to make a functional wireframe prototype with InDesign, you could be building the actual site. The features you need for rapid prototyping are found in Fireworks.
