Is there a way to copy the notification rules?

Hi,
I am migrating to a new server and have already setup notofication rules the way I want them on the old server. Instead of resetting everything manually I would like to copy the notification setup. Is there a way to do this?
I am working with 10GR2 and using dbconsole.
Thanks!

Iphone does NOT store to the SIM at all.
You should be syncing iphone to your computer regularly so all of your contacts should be on your computer in whatever program you have chosen to sync.

  • IS THERE A WAY TO CHANGE THE NOTIFICATION SOUNDS FOR REMINDERS?

IS THERE A WAY TO CHANGE THE NOTIFICATION SOUNDS FOR REMINDERS?

Yes you can, in the sense that this is an "Alert" sound you've set for the whole Mac software, and of course this is set in System Preferences > Sounds > Sound Effects. This will change the "alert sound" for the whole Mac.
So, No, you can't change only this particular Alert sound. If you could, it would be done in System Preferences > Notifications, and your only option there is whether you want the sound or not (Chkbox on "Play sound when receiving Notifications")

is there a way to copy the dictionary  answer to a looked up word, copy and paste? Each time I highlight the defination the command copy will not work, is there a key sequence I need to use?

Works here, I just tested.  (I assume you're talking about the dictionary widget on the Dashboard.)

Are you sure you're pressing command-c, not something like control-c?  If you're new to Macs, the control-c keystroke from Windows may be so ingrained you're pressing that without realizing it.
Edit: Note that I didn't mean to imply you're not thinking clearly with the definition of the word I looked up, it was just the first word that popped into my mind!

I think the DVD player reader on my Mac is going bad. Until I get it fixed Is there a way to copy the files off of an Apple Install DVD onto an external drive and then do theinstall from the external drive? It's ILife 11 if that makes a difference. Finder won't let me see the files to copy. I know - dumb question.
    Thanks.

Adding an SSD is not a simple endeavour like adding additional memory or adding another hard drive to a Mac Pro. That's probably why the option is only offered as an option at the time of purchase. Even if your Apple store was willing to install the necessary parts you will probably be paying for 1-2 hours of labor plus the cost of purchasing the necessary service parts (SSD, bracket, cables, etc) which I suspect will make the upgrade cost much higher than what it costs to add the SSD option when purchasing a new system.
I use my system for business and need it to work reliably.  Even though I'm fairly handy with tools I would not be willing to risk damaging my system and voiding my warranty by opening my system and removing the logic board and several other parts in order to squeeze in an SSD option and attach the appropriate cables and brackets. I'm also not prepared to deal with the hassles of explaining why my system has unauthorized parts installed in the event I experience issues and need to make use of my Apple warranty. My time is valuable, so I would probably investigate external storage options, or if I needed the speed of an SSD, I would consider selling my existing system and then purchase a new system configured with an SSD.
If you haven't already done so I suggest doing a search on 'iMac SSD installation' to see what's involved. It might help you understand why the SSD option is not offered post purchase.

  • Is there a way to leave the notification center open

    Hello all,
I wondered if there was a way to leave the notification center open in OS 10.8.1.
    Maybe via the terminal?
I am using a 30" monitor and to me it would make sense to have NC alway open.
    Thanks a lot.
    Cheers.

You can poke around yourself,  but right off I do not see how this is possible in customizing the plist.
    Finder>Go>Go to folder>
    /System/Library/CoreServices/Notification Center.app
You can right click to open> Show Package Content.

I'm in Logic 8 now ... wondering if there is a way to copy the effects plug-ins (assigned to a particular track/fader in one project) to a track/fader in another project?
Besides saving the 'effected' project to a new name and importing the audio tracks from the other project ...

    Thank you sereen, so simple.
    Much appreciated.

  • Is there a way to copy the backups to external drive

On the webpage... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_A4 the box in the top right hand corner clearly states that the information on the A4 is iPad specific...
    and qualifies this under "history"
"On June 7, 2010, Steve Jobs publicly confirmed that the iPhone 4 will contain the A4 Processor, although it is not yet known if it has the same frequency, bus width, or caches as the A4 found in the earlier produced iPad."
    http://www.macrumors.com/2010/06/22/teardown-of-iphone-4-512mb-ram-confirmed-and -other-notes/
    says that....
[...}Checkup also shows that the iPhone 4 does have 512MB of RAM, but is unable to identify the speed of the processor.
Has this changed recently or is everyone (review websites) jumping on the bandwagon just saying that the A4 processor is exactly he same as the iPad with no real proof? could it be under or indeed over clocked?
.... even Apples own iPhone 4 website http://www.apple.com/uk/iphone/specs.html and http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html stops short of giving ANY information on the processor......
    All a bit odd really....

  • Is there a way to remove the notification center pull down?

My autistic son is obsessed with the notification center pull down, and can't focus on any apps. This has rendered the iPad useless for him! This has basically rendered the iPad useless for his educational purposes, and even his ability to concentrate on his favorite games. I realize this is a pretty unique issue, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's a problem for at least a couple of other autistic kiddos out there? But even if my son is tho only kid wit this problem, I'm sure there must be other users out there who hate the fact that this pull down does not appear to be optional...
If anyone out there has found a way to turn this "feature" off, PLEASE pass some instructions my way! Thank you!

    Hi ChrisanneW,
I found this workaround on Chris Calabreese's blog. First the setup:
Go to the Settings app. Select General, then Accessibility.
Scroll down to the very bottom and tap the Accessibility Shortcut option.
Tap the AssistiveTouch option so there is a check mark next to it. This should be the only option with a check mark; if not, un-check the other options.
Once that’s done, here’s how to disable the Notification and Command Centers. This can be done from the home screen or within any app:
Click the Home button three times in quick succession. A black square with a white dot will appear on the screen. Tap it once.
A menu with several options will open. Tap the Home option three times in quick succession. The menu will disappear.
Your Notification and Command Centers should now be disabled. Try swiping down from the top of the screen and swiping up from the bottom to verify.
NOTE: I’ve discovered this method has one undesirable side effect. When Notification Center has been successfully disabled, your device will no longer sleep automatically. Your device’s battery will drain quickly if you’re not aware of this. If you want to disable Notification Center on a long-term basis, you will need to remember to manually put your device to sleep when you’re not using it by hitting the Sleep/Wake button. This effect is only temporary; if you re-enable the Notification Center (as outlined below), the device will sleep automatically once again. Because of this, I would recommend disabling Notification Center only when you really need to (when playing a game, for example), then re-enable it when you’re finished.
If you wish to enable them again, here’s how:
Click the Home button three times in quick succession. The black square with a white dot will appear; this time ignore it.
Click the Home button again three times in quick succession. The black square with a white dot will disappear and your Notification and Command Centers should be working again.
    Hope this answers your question.
    ~Joe

Is there any way to get an older version of the app that can be compatible or to "copy" the app from one iPod to the other?
Or maybe to update the opperating system??

you can by downloading iTunes to your computer/laptop but before plugging it in to the computer make sure all of your apps are on it then just sync the restored iPod to your computer and all of the apps on the computer will go to your iPod.. Good Luck
