Is there a way to create a "common desktop" for all RD/TS 2012 users? (Office 2010 icons on the dekstop, for example.)

Hello! Just like the title, is there a way to create a "common desktop" for all RD/TS 2012 users?
I know how to do this using regular W7 workstations and 2008 Servers, but the "Default" folder under the USERS directory is gone and I'm not sure how to get the icons there in Windows 8, let alone Server 2012 Remote Desktop.
I've installed Office 2010 on the 2012 server, but every end user that logs in has to manually type in "Word," "Excel." "PowerPoint." etc from the metro interface, then right-click each icon to add the shortcut to the desktop.
Given the... uh.. unfamiliarity of our endusers around the computer, this really isn't the best option. What I'd like is them to log on and have all the Office icons ready and availible for them.
Any ideas?

I would like to be able to create a spreadsheet with several different ways of looking at financial results.
So, while I might have my typical budget prepared by functional area, I would also like to identify whether a line item is a weekly, monthly, or annual expense. So, column A will include a functional header
Column B the amount itself
Column C will be the frequency.
Is there an easy way to create a Sum Field that pulls the info from all fields in which column B = Weekly?
More importantly, is there a way to do this across multiple tables within a single sheet? I am breaking out divisions into individual tables and performing similar tasks for each division, and then summarizing for the full organization in a separate table.

The more generalized solution is to modify the Summary Table as follows:
- Add a header row to give the name of the source table for each column (the name you give each table should match the name in the header for each column)
- use the following formula in B2:
"=SUMIF(INDIRECT("'"&B$1&"' ::"&"Frequency"), "="&$A2, INDIRECT("'"&B$1&"'::"&"Amount"))"
fill down, then select B2 - B4, then fill across
In the "Total" column for the Summary table paste the formula:
E2: "=SUM(B2:D2)"

Is there a way to create a pdf that preserves all links from the origional document?

Hi,
I have a new, rather large, pdf document I need to create. After discovering that adobe will not reliably convert hyperlinks from an office document, I need a new strategy. Does anyone know of a program, other than office, that adobe will reliably convert the links in the origional document into links in the pdf? Or is there a different way to do this, other than adding links in adobe after I create the pdf?

Is there a way to create a site map of all RoboHelp topics in a published project?

My company uses an external search of our published RoboHelp options (as well as the internal; the external search covers all projects instead of a single one). We're looking to change search programs, but according to our web developer a lot of searches have issues finding the topics inside the published projects because of the way it links to topics using Javascript.
I think I know the answer to this question, considering it hasn't come up in any of my searches, but in case I need a second cup of coffee -- is there a site map or listing of links within a RoboHelp project that includes all the topics? Alternately, does anyone know of a service or program that can easily create a site map from a RH project? For reference, we're using RoboHelp 9.

We have an On-premise deploymentwill be setting up the application to be open outside our company to train channel partners. We would like to be able to create a front end database that would create a group based on the partner company or based on product knowledge. Then we would like to add users to these groups. It's not AIR that's lacking the key in the plist, it must be Flash Pro, although it's just running adt itself. I use AIR 3.4 and I compile via adt command line (because Flash Builder 4.6 still has not been updated to handle warnings from ANEs during compile, grr). I have CFBundleDisplayName in my plist file. Have you tried compiling on the command line?

Being unaware of what in-house distribution system that actually is, I have noted that some people had previous issues submitting apps Flash compiles. Their solution was to rename the AppName.ipa to AppName.zip, extract the Payload folder, copy the AppName.app inside there out, then rename that AppName.app to AppName.ipa. Then it was accepted. Not sure if that old issue still exists.

I need to create monitor(s) for an application, but the application services are different on all the servers. Usually I would find a application service that is common among all the servers I want to monitor to create the target,
but this does not exist. There are no common services for this application. However, every server does have a common folder in the Program Files on the C: drive (i.e. "xyz" folder exist on every server for the application).
Is there a way to create a target based on a folder in the Programs Folder?

I have Acrobat Pro, and would like to be able to create forms that can not only be filled out and printed, but saved and emailed, which is not an option with the forms I have created to date. They can be filled out, but not saved, with Adobe Reader.

Is there a way to create a local package repository without technically being a mirror. For example, setting up multiple AL box's on my network and having them grab all the latest packages from one AL box?

What you most likely want is an ABS tree of your own, containing only the PKGBUILDs of those packages which you want to be included in your repository.
You should already have heard of the gensync program. In short, the parameters are the root of PKGBUILDs, sorted in subdirectories (ie. like the ABS tree), the intented name and location of the repository database file, and the directory containing the binary packages.
Let's assume you downloaded the current ABS tree to your hard drive, as well as all matching (same version as in the PKGBUILDs!) packages from a mirror, but you don't want the reiserfsprogs package in your repository. To achieve that, you must remove the /var/abs/base/reiserfsprogs directory, and may optionally remove the binary package, too. Since gensync analyzes the ABS tree you supplied as a parameter, removing the subdirectory of a specific package will cause this very package to not be included in the generated database. Assuming your packages lie in /home/arch/i686/current, your gensync call would look like this:
gensync /var/abs /home/arch/i686/current/current.db.tar.gz /home/arch/i686/current
If there are any discrepancies like
- PKGBUILD, but no matching binary package found
- PKGBUILD and binary package versions do not match
- permission problems (writing the db file must be possible)
gensync will gladly complain.
Otherwise you should find the db file in the place you specified. Keep in mind that the name of the db.tar.gz file must be equal to the repository tag in the pacman.conf to use the repo.
To make sure the db contains the right packages; use
tar -tzf current.db.tar.gz | less
to list the contents. Every package has it's own subdirectory including the metadata, which is rather obvious considering the file's generated from such a structure in the first place.
The binary packages along with a correctly generated db file are all you need. Make the repository directory containing these files available through FTP if local availability doesn't cut it for you, edit your pacman.conf if needed, and use it!
Adding packages works similar; All you need to have is the PKGBUILD in an ABS-like tree (it doesn't have to be the official tree; gensync doesn't care where the files come from. Just stick to one subdirectory per PKGBUILD, and you'll be fine), and the matching packages somewhere else, run gensync with the appropriate directories, and cackle with glee.

well, yes, of course i could do it that way. i guess i wasn't specific enough. is there a way to create a smart collection, with the photos in the "previous import" as members of the smart collection. earlier i mentioned about using this smart collection to mobile sync with my ipad, to do further flagging.
so my intention, use a smart collection to mobile sync with my ipad, and the smart collection to include the photos from my previous import.
i guess another way to ask the question, is there a way to create a smart collection, by using some rule or condition in the smart collection, to automatically include previous import photos.
the documentation says that "previous import" is a collection, even though it shows up in the catalogue side bar section. but i see no way to choose that collection when making a smart collection.
