Is there a way to create a still image from video in either imovie or iphoto? I want to add an arrow to an imovie and so far have not had any luck but I'm thinking I might be able to add an arrow to a photo and then incorporate it into the movie.

I'm still trying to point out a location in an imovie with an arrow. I thought I might be able to insert an arrow in a still photo from the imovie and then reinsert the photo in the movie but my attempts at capturing a still frame from a video in imovie or iphoto haven't worked so far. Any ideas any one???

First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. You can find it by googling MPEG Streamclip Squared 5.
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
Also, for how to add a pointer, try Karsten Schluter's website for a good post on how to do this.

In the sheet :: table :: cell that is going to receive the data, type an equals sign, then click on the cell that the data will come from and press Return.
This will require that you navigate to the origin cell by choosing the proper sheet.

Is there some way to create a mirror image backup of iPhone and iPad ? At this time our company has over 250 devices that are constantly being upgraded and passed down the line. it would speed things up considerably if there was a way to mirror the old device and then restore it on the new Phone or iPad. I don't care about any of the other features in iTunes, i just need something to speed up the process without having to walk them thru reintering their passwords, redownloadeing all the apps that didn't transfer ect.

You would need to tell each user to make sure they backup their devices either thru itunes or icloud.
With a company like yours, you should suggest backing up to icloud.
IOS backup http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766 then when the user gets a new phone, you or they can just restore from their icloud.
The only hard part would be if the user has music (non purchased from itunes) which they would need to sync to itunes to get back on their phone.
there is no easy process for this. I'm in the same boat as you but way fewer people to deal with.

Please have a look at the F1 help for the origin field:
"If the field is empty when creating a sales document (standard setting)
the partner functions are determined from those partner functions given
in the sold-to party customer master (Table KNVP). If the system can not
determine all functions, it enters the number of the sold-to party (SP)
for the remaining partner functions of partner type customer (KU).
Maintain this field if you want a specific partner to be determined that
is not in the partner screen of the sold-to party master.

Unfortunately, unless you have a backup and can restore the iTunes library to the new computer, you are stuck with the current state of the iPod. This is one of those things that makes doing backups so important.
Unless your music is all purchased from iTunes (not from your own CD's that you imported into iTunes and then downloaded to the iPod), you will be able to re-download all your iTunes store music back to the iPod when you install iTunes on the new computer. When you first attach the iPod to the new computer and new iTunes the first time it will tell you that this iPod is synced with another iTunes library and let you initialize the iPod (which will erase everything on the iPod - so don't do this unless you don't care about the stuff on the iPod now).
I've seen 3rd party apps in the past that will let you copy music/content from iPod to computer and bypass iTunes, but not sure if they still exist as this was several years ago.

Sorry, but it is not possible to restrict use of specific apps other that the few restrictions provided in the Restrictions settings, not unless the app itself provides some sort of lock. If you don't want your child playing certain games, the only answer is to not load them on the iPad he uses.

able to switch and image and add a caption to it. Can anyone point
me in the right direction? Or is that Project Seven plug-in deal my
best bet? What about Set Text of Layer in DW.
Oh yeah, Im still using DW with CSS sprinkled in..any help?

Of course.

That would do it, and it's not necessary that the layer stay
a layer after
you have done it, either. I do this frequently - make a
layer, apply the
behavior, and then remove the position:absolute from the div,
and place it
where I want it.

Maybe. Mount the disc and launch Disk Utility. Select the disc, and choose File > New > Disk Image from Sims. In the Save dialog that opens, choose "CD/DVD Master" as the format. Save the image. Eject the Sims disc, then double-click the image file you just saved. It should mount. Try the game.
DO NOT distribute the image file to anyone else, as that would be copyright infringement.

Error when trying to save still image from video with Quicktime Pro

I just purchased Quicktime Pro so that I can use it with my new Nano (the one that shoots video). I want to grab a frame from the video and create a still image (in jpeg format). I should be able to do it, but when I try, I get an error 11005 (or something like that). Anyone know any way to fix this? Thanks!

I also tried the alt/ctrl/shift buttons when clicking Editor in the Photoshop welcome screen. It did ask if I wanted to reset the preferences. I chose yes. I still get the same error message when trying to save for web.
Below....showing I don't have a "save for web" folder on my C drive.
And below, showing the same error after pressing alt/shift/ctrl when clicking on editor and clearing the preferences.
I don't have a 'Save for Web' folder anywhere on my C: drive. I searched and came up with no folder with the text "save for web" in it.
I did find a "save for web" folder on my D: drive and deleted that.. but now when I start up Photoshop, the option for Save for Web is grayed out...not able to select it.
