Is there a way to create entry form/fields in Numbers.

Can anyone let me know if there's a way to create an entry form/field in Numbers. The idea would be to have already created a list of contacts, then at an event on an iPad, people can check off if that person is there and also enter new contact info. Thanks in advance.

Isnt this just a table? A list of people, with a check box field in the second column, followed by a few columns for contact info to be entered in?

  • Is there a way to rename multiple form field names with a "b" at the end?

I have a two page form, both are identical.  I need to rename all the field names on page 2 with a "b" at the end of the file name so they dont conflict with that of the first page.  Is there any fast way of doing this without renaming each individual one at at time?  I have a LOT to do!

It's not possible with JavaScript. The name property of a field is read-only.
I would suggest making a template from the first page and then spawn a new page from it.
If you do it from a script make sure you set the bRename property to true and the form fields will be automatically renamed, but you can't specify the name, it will be in following pattern:
    P<Page Number>.<Template Name>.<Original Field Name>

  • Is there a way to create a circular field or guide in Acrobat?

I have a fillable field that needs to fit nicely in a circle (the field will be exposed through a circular die cut on the page before it. I would like to have a way for the user to see how the field will appear through this circle so they can break the lines accordingly. Is there a way to either create a non-rectangular field, or import a page from InDesign with a guide visible, but not printable that Acrobat would recognize?

    No.
or import a page from InDesign with a guide visible, but not printable that Acrobat would recognize?
Yes. You can place this graphic on a a non-printing layer in ID and it should remain the same in Acrobat.

  • Is there a way to create a timestamp in iOS Numbers?

I would like a cell to automatically fill with the time that data is entered into another cell. Is this possible on Numbers for iPad?

Nevermind. After extensive searching it does not seem possible. But I did find out that there are "Today" and "Now" buttons on the data entry keypad in iOS numbers when entering a date, so that works just about as well.

  • Is there a way to rename PDF form fields without worrying about having all the right fonts?

I'm trying to merge data into an IRS form... for some reason, they duplicated the names for a few fields which causes a problem with merging.
I've installed Acrobat X and tried to edit the form in LiveCycle, but I don't have all the fonts, so I can't do it correctly without altering the IRS form.
Can someone point to a right tool to do a simple rename of a few form field names?
    Thanks in advance!

The field names don't have anything to do with fonts, but you might be better off asking in the LiveCycle Designer forum.

  • Is there a way to create a text field that shows on all slides?

I'm trying to create a "Revised On" date field that can be shown on every slide. Or, do I just have to copy and paste on all slides?
    Thanks in advance.
    - Michael

    use the master slides
    view > show master slides
click on the master slide that has a tick mark
add a text box to master slide and any other objects that you want on every slide; enter text, then position, size and set colour
click on the normal slide and add other content that is to be seen on that slide only
adding new slides will use the background design

  • In Acrobat, is there a way to have a form field use small caps in place of lower-case text?

I found java script online that will force a field to be all caps (using it in the format tab > custom format script). But I have not been able to find anything to change the lowercase text to small caps. Anyone know how to do that (or if it just can't be done in Acrobat)?

But if you use a "small CAPs" font, you need to be sure the font is fully embedded in the PDF. If not, it is likely that users will not be able to use your form.

  • Is there a way to create auto fill fields in an excel spreadsheet from AB?

Hey, so I've got an Excel spreadsheet that I'd like to tweak so when I enter a name, the boxes next to it labeled Phone Number and Email will auto fill the information in from Address Book. I don't know if this is possible in Excel, I have a Address Label Widget that does it though.

Being Applescriptable, you should be able to do that in Excel. MacTech magazine has a long article on applescripting Office. You might ask around in the Applescript forums or take a look at Macscripter.net.

  • Is there a way to create a PDF form that ANYONE can fill out and SAVE with their content?

Is there a way to create a PDF form that ANYONE can fill out and SAVE with their content? By anyone, I mean someone who can download and use the free Adobe Reader, on either a Mac or PC. I have Acrobat Pro, and would like to be able to create forms that can not only be filled out and printed, but saved and emailed, which is not an option with the forms I have created to date. They can be filled out, but not saved, with Adobe Reader.
    TIA,
    Nancy

To do what Dave indicated you need to do, it depends on what version of Acrobat you have:
Acrobat 8: Advanced > Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader
Acrobat 9: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
Acrobat 10: File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features
Acrobat 11: File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes form fill-in & save)
I wonder what it will be next time?

  • Is there a way to create an interactive form without Acrobat

Bottom line, is there a way to create an interactive form that can either be filled out and saved, or "submitted" with a mailto: button without having to buy a copy of acrobat too.
I have found numerous tutorials and examples, but everytime I try I run into the "action is not supported" error from adobe reader. Ironically, I have not problems saving a filled out form with OSX preview, but that won't work for PC users.
It seems like Adobe missed a step or is just forcing users to buy a secondary product to "re-save" a file with a form.

It’s not a failing at all. It’s just the way it is.

  • Is there a way to create forms where certain fields would become required only if there was a certain choice made in a dropdown box in another field?

Is there a way to create forms where certain fields would become required only if there was a certain choice made in a dropdown box in another field?

Yes but you will have to create some custom JavaScript to do this.
Also you should be aware that the "Required" property is only processed when the form is submitted to a scripted web page or "mailto:" process.

  • Is there a way to create a button to make an entire page visible or hidden in an Acrobat XI form?

Is there a way to create a button to make an entire page visible or hidden in an Acrobat XI form?

Note that Reader (11 or otherwise) cannot show/hide pages that are templates. Reader 11 can spawn new pages from templates and delete any spawned pages, however. It also supports spawning a template by overlaying it on an existing page.
The UI in Acrobat 11 for making a page a template and setting its visibility is found under: Tools > Document Processing > Page Templates

  • Is there a way to create a dropdown menu template for metadata entry in Bridge?

For certain categories such as keywords, I would like to create a set of standard terms to use for my department. Is there a way to create a template for a dropdown menu within the metadata window?
    Currently running CS5.1

This was discontinuted in CS5 howerver you could migrate that plugin to CS5.  I don`t know if you can do this with CS6.
To my knowledge they only provided a revised Contact sheet II script for CS6. In my opinion a very bad idea because they should have put all efforts and resources to enhance the Output Module PDF contact sheet that has far more options.
Still not using web galleries but the goal for web gallery was also to use this in the Adobe Output Module, maybe that provides you the options you want?
