IS THERE A WAY TO DELETE E-MAILS LIKE ON BLACKBERRY

I am a new iphone 4s user, that just switched from Blackberry.  So far, love the phone with two exceptions.  One can't be fixed, other than me learning to use this touchscreen keyboard.  The other I'm hoping you users will help me with.  On my blackberry i could choose to delete the e-mail from the phone and leave it on my computer or choose to delete it from the computer as well.  Is there a way to do this?  Also, is there a way that i can totally clear out all my emails on the phone so only new ones show up, not 50 old ones?
Again, love the phone so I'm not bashing, just want to figure out how to get it more like what i was used to.  Thanks
Fin

No.
Different from a Blackberry, the iPhone's Mail app communicates direct with the incoming mail server for an email account no different from accessing an email account with an email client on your computer. Email accounts accessed with a Blackberry are routed through RIM's dedicated email delivery service for the Blackberry that provides options not otherwise avaialble with an email client that communicates direct with the incoming mail server for each email account that is accessed with the iPhone's Mail app.

Ok Apple users...Is there a way to delete e-mails on my Mac and not have to delete the same e-mails on my iPhone, and iPad...and vise-versa. I have the Cloud, and thought that everything would sync all of the time. If you know of a setting I need to adjust, please let me know.

Are you referring to @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com emails? Or some other email providers emails?
If the former, it should do that automatically. If the latter, no. iCloud does not (nor is it supposed to) sync non-Apple provided emails.

  • Is there a way to delete the mail program or cancel so it doesn't open automatically

The Apple mail program pops up in the dock and opens automatically.  As I use other mail programs this pop up  is annoying and there must be a way to eliminate or cancel soot doesnot continually pop up?
I've tried to hide it but it comes back after awhile.  It also is open in background as it always seems to stop shutdowns and restarts.

You may have Mail.app as one of your log-in items - check Users & Groups and your user name to see if it is a log-in item.
The only other reason that the app would automatically launch is that you have it open when you restart or shutdown and have 'reopen windows..." ticked when you shutdown or restart.

I just discovered I have over 700 emails in the Bulk Mail folder. Is there a way to delete them in one step, rather than individually?

Ok, now how do you do a ⌘ on an iPhone?

  • Is there a way to delete individual contacts from the mail icon that i've replied to on itouch 4th

I've replied to several emails by way of my itouch 4th. Now I don't need those particular contacts anymore.  They don't show up in my yahoo mail which is what I've been using.  They are still in my contacts when I hit the write button on my touch.  Is there a way of deleting those individuals I replied to? I don't want to have to restore the touch. It's got too much stuff on it, I like.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

The only way is to restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.  I know that is not a desirable solution..

  • TS3899 Is there a way to delete a lot of messages from mail at a time rather than having to mark each message and delete?

Help! I have thousands of messages that need to be deleted from my IPad! Is there a way to delete a large number at a time?

Not that I have encountered, but if your provider supports webmail, you can generally accomplish it that way.

  • Why is there no way to delete all emails from my iphone?

Why is there no way to delete all emails from my iphone? IOS 7.1. Every other phone in the market allows you to 'select all' then delete.
This trick of selecting one, then holding move, then unchecking (and subsequently moving all the emails to trash) doesn't work. I've read these suggestions and while it appears to work the emails just show up again once you leave and return to the inbox. Perhaps it worked on an older version of IOS.
It blows my mind this is not a standard function. I get a few hundred emails at work every day, and most of the time I just want to delete all of them from the phone as I've read them already. Currently it seems i can only click edit and then have to check each email individually to be able to delete them at the same time; this is the definition of tedious. I would think there are millions of other iphone users who get their company email on their phones that must experience the same thing. It seems now i either spend 20 minutes a day deleting emails, or just let thousands of emails accumulate on the phone (taking up space and also making it hard to just review the most recent emails which is all I want to be able to do when checking email on my phone).
I am hoping I am just missing some simple solution here that everyone else uses. Please help!!

Only Apple could answer as to why there is no "select all/"delete all" function in the iOS mail app. Users have been bemoaning this lack of functionality for years now. Like everyone else, you can submit feedback to. Apple here.
    Apple - iPhone - Feedback
While I understand the whole idea of being able to use the phone on the run, if you have an IMAP email account, and if you have access to a computer at work during the day, use your "select all" function on the server and delete all of the unwanted email there and it will be removed from the phone as well.
That doesn't solve the problem on the phone, but it gets rid of the email which is your ultimate goal anyway.

  • Is there a way to delete emails on one device that will transfer to all my devices so I don't have to delete the same emails off all my devices??

Is there a way to delete emails on one device that will transfer to all my other devices so I don't have to delete the same emails on all my devices?

Go to the mailbox tab in the Mail application and selecting "synchronize iCloud".  Whenever you delete mail from  one of your devices it will automatically delete from the others--within iCloud.

  • Is there a way to configure Mac Mail ...?

I have an IMac desktop, a MacBook & a 4th generation IPod Touch.  As it now stands whenever I receive email it goes to all 3 devices necessitating the need to physically read and/or delete the messages from all 3 devices.  Is there some way to configure Mac Mail to eliminate these steps or do I just have to keep manually removing mail messages as I'm now doing?
Thanks for any help you may have.

Create your accounts for IMAP instead of POP.
Here's a little youtube explaining the difference (ignore the sales pitch).
imap vs pop - what do they do?
In Apple Mail preferences, Accounts, when you go to set up a new mail account you click the plus in the lower left as usual.  When the Add account sheet is displayed if you press the option key while clicking the Continue button you will be given a window to define the account as POP or IMAP.
Alternatively if you enter an invalid email address into the Add Account window and juct click Continue (no option key) you will again be given the IMAP/POP choice.  This technique I think will work in the other itoys as well.

  • Is there a way to change a Mail account from POP to IMAP?

    Greetings,
Is there a way to change a Mail account from POP to IMAP so as not to have to create a new account?
    Thanks

GMail offers both without you have to pick one or the other? If so, and changing the server doesn't work then you will need to re-establish the account in Mail. Don't delete the old account (or you will lose any downloaded messages) - there's no reason why you shouldn't have both available. You can move the messages from the POP account to another folder and then delete it.

  • Is there a way to delete emails on my oPhone and not my PC Inbox?

Is there a way to delete the emails on my iPhone without deleting them on my PC inbox?

Blackberry email works very differently to iPhone email. All email on Blackberry devices goes through RIMs servers so it can be deleted independently of the mail on the original server.
The iPhone talks directly to the email accounts original server like a computer email client does, so you're manipulating mail directly on the server without going through an intermediary. Therefore whatever actions you do on your iPhone are actually done directly on the mail server.

If you go to Preferences -> Privacy -> details, you can choose to remove "website data" but sometimes this includes the local cache and also local storage.
Is there any way to delete JUST/SOLEY the cookies that the browser stores?

    Go to ~/Library/Cookies.
Move the Cookies.plist to the Trash.
~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.
For LIon:   To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

Open your Photos App > Camera Roll > At the top right corner you will see a rectangle with a right arrow, select that. Now you can select as many photos as you want and you can hit the red Delete button on the bottom right.

  • Is there a way to delete photos from Photo Stream on my macbook pro? (Not from my folders, etc.) I need to empty the photo stream. Something in my photo stream has corrupted my phone and my apple specialist suggested I do this.

Is there a way to delete the photos in Photo Stream on my mackbook pro notebook?
My phone became corrupted today and, after continuing to have problems with 2 new phones, the apple specialists determined that the only possible explanation was the presence of a corrupted photo or video in photo stream; and that the only way to use my phone without it shutting down was to deactivate the photo stream on it.  It worked, but I would like to be able to have the option of using photostream again. The apple folks suggested that I delete all photos from photo stream on my computer; and then, when it is "empty", reactivate it on my phone? Is anyone familiar with this problem?
