Is there a way to delete mass contacts?
I have a few thousand contacts I need to delete out of my contacts. Is there an easy way to do this?
Contacts are included with your iPhone's backup. If you haven't synced your iPhone with iTunes since all contacts on your iPhone were deleted, you should be able to restore the contacts by restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup. When selecting Restore, you will be prompted to update your iPhone's backup. Decline this prompt or your iPhone's backup will be updated reflecting no contacts on your iPhone.
Although contacts are included with your iPhone's backup, it isn't a good idea to depend on your iPhone's backup alone for this data. Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer. With a Mac, this can be with the Address Book application.

ICloud keeps duplicating my contacts, any of which I need to delete anyways. Is there a way to delete multiple contacts at once? I have been deleting them one at a time, but they keep reappearing.
I have exactly the same problem! I have Outlook 2010 and it does the same thing with my contacts, and calender enteries!! Really frustrating

When my husband set up my iPad, he imported my daughter's phone contacts. Is there a way to delete her contacts and import my own?
The iPad must always be synced to one computer using the Apple ID that it was originally synced to. Otherwise all apps & files will be deleted. There's no way to retrieve once erased.
Is there a backup on a different computer?

Without syncing my iPhone, is there a way to delete duplicate contacts without going one by one?
So the answer to the first question is yes, and the answer to my 2nd question is no?
You selected which email account under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes and this means you are not syncing contacts with a supported address book app on your computer? -
Is there a way to delete individual contacts from the mail icon that i've replied to on itouch 4th
I've replied to several emails by way of my itouch 4th. Now I don't need those particular contacts anymore. They don't show up in my yahoo mail which is what I've been using. They are still in my contacts when I hit the write button on my touch. Is there a way of deleting those individuals I replied to? I don't want to have to restore the touch. It's got too much stuff on it, I like. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
The only way is to restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod. I know that is not a desirable solution..

I have many duplicate contacts on my iphone and want to delete them all and start over by syncing to my mac's address book. Is there a way to delete the contacts all at once? I started icloud and the iphone caused duplicates there also.
I have exactly the same problem on my ipad. It is happening on only some contacts but, as with you, when I delete one of the contacts on the ipad, the second ipad contact and the contact on the imac are also deleted. This is even the case when I have differentiated the two contacts on the ipad and can see the one I have deleted on the ipad is not the same one as is then deleted on the imac.

I deleted an e-mail account from my I Phone. Unfortunately it deleted all of the contacts from my phone. Is there a way to restore those contacts?
Add the account back to your phone and enable contacts syncing with the account and the contacts will reappear on your phone. If you want them in iCloud, you'll have to copy them to your iCloud account. If you need assistance doing this, reply back and I'll help you.

I deleted one of my email accounts. Is there a way to get the contacts back?
I had to remove one of my work email accounts. It also removed all of the contacts. Is there a way to retrieve those contacts from the iCloud?
Your exchange contacts are entirely separate from iCloud so there isn't a way to restore them from iCloud. You would have had to copy the contacts to iCloud prior to removing them from your phone in order for them to be in your iCloud account.

i have and can find all duplicates in my library - after i find them is there a way to delete them (in mass) other than deleting one at a time?
The only way they would all come over is if your wife had automatic downloads turned on in her store settings on the phone before she downloaded the apps. A popup for this option also comes up when you first sign into an apple id on the phone in the app store. If she didn't have that setting turned on, she'll have to download them one by one.
She could also try to sync them over from a computer that has itunes on it -
HT4528 Is there any way to change the contact email?
Is there any way to change the contact email? I had deleted my contact email without even a thought about my Apple ID. Any suggestions?
<Re-Titled By Host>Without being able to login with the Apple ID credentials, it is not possible to change the recovery email address. This is called security and prevents others from forcibly changing your Apple ID password and taking over the account.
Options are either remember the security answers or fix access issues with the recovery email account. -
Question
I cannot find out where to organize my bookmarks in any of the bookmark dropdowns. I can only do it one by one. Is there a way to do mass organization?
In previous versions you could select organize bookmarks. In this version it is gone. I would imagine that since FF now can sync across multiple devices, the ability to organize from any of those becomes more important. Selecting one bookmark at a time to delete or move is too tedious for people with hundreds or thousands of bookmarks. The way bookmarks are managed has not changed. You now access to the Library window by selecting Bookmarks > Show all bookmarks from the Firefox menu.
For more info, see:
* [[Sorting bookmarks]]
* [[Bookmark folders]]
Note: To prevent interferences between versions 3.6 and Beta, use a specific [[Managing profiles|profile]] for Firefox 4.0 Beta. -

Upgrade to 10.7.5. See:
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
Lion System Requirements
1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
or Xeon processor
2. 2GB of memory
3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
4. 7GB of available space
5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply. -
My old computer ( PC) crashed and I have a new PC now but I want to start synching my contactings and stuff onto my new computer. Itunes says it must wipe my iphone before it can synch. Is there a way to keep my contacts?
Create a dummy contact on your new PC in Outlook. In iTunes, elect to synch your contacts with Outlook. You will be prompted to "merge" your contacts. Once done and all your contacts are on your computer in Outlook, you can delete the "dummy" contact.

Ok Apple users...Is there a way to delete e-mails on my Mac and not have to delete the same e-mails on my iPhone, and iPad...and vise-versa. I have the Cloud, and thought that everything would sync all of the time. If you know of a setting I need to adjust, please let me know.
Are you referring to @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com emails? Or some other email providers emails?
If the former, it should do that automatically. If the latter, no. iCloud does not (nor is it supposed to) sync non-Apple provided emails.
