Hi,
I inherited a web site, created in iWeb '09. I've got the site files on my Mac ... when I start iWeb,
and select a page to edit, it complains:
The following errors occurred while trying to open this page:
Missing Font TrajanPro-Regular
Missing Font TrajanPro-Bold
Missing Font HelveticaNeue-Roman
Many (most or all) pages in the web site need these three fonts.
Thru googling, I know that those three fonts are proprietary fonts that I could purchase.
However, it seems silly to buy and install a font when the web server and end-user's
browser won't have it (and will therefore get substituted at their end).
Therefore, I think that my best choice is to change all uses of those fonts in the web site to
be uses of some "standard web fonts".
So, how do I do a global font change or substitution in iWeb '09? It seems like an awfully
obvious thing to want to do. (Finding each instance of use and manually selecting the text
and doing a font change is simply not feasible.)
(E.g.: Change "HelveticeNeue-Roman" to "Helvetica Regular")

Is there a way in Firefox to globally disable plugins and allow only certain sites to run them (i.e., a whitelist)? Flashblock only blocks Flash, Shockwave, and Authorware. Plugins like Java, Silverlight, and other aren't blocked by Flashblock. There is one manual control extension for JavaScript, Java, Flash, and Silverlight - Quick Java - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1237/ - but there is no "whitelist", only toolbar /statusbar buttons to toggle those plugins on/off.
As you mentioned, NoScript has features to block specific plugins from running automatically, and also has a "whitelist" so those plugins will run automatically on "trusted" websites, but getting the NoScript "whitelist" set up is a continuing job. It can be a frustrating extension to use for even "above-average users".
I use NoScript on my Windows desktop PC's as it is intended to be used - allowing JavaScript per domain / website by "allowing" or "temporarily allowing", but on my Linux netbook ''(900MHz processor and only 1GB of RAM)'' I have it set to ''Allow Scripts Globally'', so I don't have to allow JavaScript for each domain on every website I visit. When I first got that netbook I ran for a few months without blocking anything, but after Firefox getting stalled by too many unnecessary plugin presentations I installed Flashblock. After a few weeks I realized that Flashblock wasn't blocking enough of the plugins that were causing problems, so I switched to NoScript with ''Allow Scripts Globally'' selected. IMO, Linux is much less of a target than Windows PC's are as far as exploits and Malware are concerned.

The default font in pages is Helvetica. Every time I start a new document, I have to change it to Times New Roman. Is there a way to permanently set the font as Times New Roman so that I do not have to do it every time. Thanks.

You need to create your own default template. Open the blank template & set up your document with the line spacing, margins, headers, etc. as you'd like. Redefine all of the paragraph & character styles to have your desired font. You can set default wrap for any object as well as many other settings. Insert a table, click in it & choose the font, size, color, etc. you want in the fonts panel or format bar. You can do similar changes to inserted objects & text boxes. While you're at it resize the box if you want, set the amount of extra space in the wrap inspector, etc. Delete each text box, object & table after you've set them.
Now, save this document as a template & select that template as default in preferences. If you decide to make any changes to the template down the road, just Save As Template again with the same name & replace the previous version. All of your new documents will have these settings for inserted objects, images & tables. Unfortunately, the settings won't apply to any other templates or "foreign" documents you open with Pages.

Is there a way to do a global transaction?

I have a save procedure for a large server infrastructure that must maintain a rollback point in-case of hardware failures.
The procedure consists of hundreds of different stored procedure calls and a very large set of data to be deleted/inserted/updated.
Is there a way to set an entire database state to be in a transaction instead of just a single stored procedure? It doesn't have to be timed or have a automatic rollback if I can manually cause a rollback to happen.
We use 2012 Express for development purposes but 2012 Standard in production; we can upgrade if necessary.

You can use the restore to mark feature. Your database will need to have its recovery model set to full or bulk-logged. You will then set a transaction with a mark.

Is there a way to see the actual fonts in the "choose a font" drop-down list of a message window?

When selecting a font for a message in Thunderbird, the only way I can find to see what the font looks like is to actually change the font of text I've already written. To try more than a few fonts at random would be a sheer waste of time.
I'm using an older version of MS Word, which has the option of allowing the user to see the actual fonts displayed in the font selection drop-down list.
Is there any way to set up Thunderbird to do this?

I use PsCS3 at home and work. I took some work home today, and SHOCK, I didn't have any of the same fonts I have on my Mac at work. Right now, I'm laboriously changing all my type layers one by one to a suitable replacement font on my PC. There's got to be a better way - more suitable to a lazy sod like me, right?
The perfect solution would be to assign the font I want to use for the default substitution font (which is Myrid Pro). I've searched everywhere, but have come up with nada. Is there a way to change this default font to one of my selection?

You can change all the type layers at on by selecting them all (Ctrl+click on each or Shift+click a range) then make the change.

Is there a way to keep Bookmark Order from changing as part of sync?

Since I added Aurora on my tablet and my phone, and set up sync, apparently those bookmarks toolbar are in a different order than my ones on my desktop. Every time I start my desktop versions, the toolbars are in some random order (the most visited all the way to the right, list order changed). Now I generally put my items in order of use, and not in alphabetical. Is there anyway that I make it so that my sync with my mobile devices will not adjust the order of my bookmark sync?

Sorry, this is apparently a bug in Firefox Aurora for Android. I'll make sure the developers know about it and hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Is there a way to use a different slideshow on all iWeb Photo pages?

I am getting real tired of the iWeb slideshow. Hard to adjust the timing, scales automatically even when you don't want it to, etc...
I did some searching on this site and a few people, such as Old Toad are mentioning SimpleViewer or Jalbum. But it sounds like it has to be setup individually for each page by modifying the html file in idisk/resources, etc...
While that would be fine for just a few pages,I have a photo blog with about 20 pages that are constantly been updated and more are added each week. I would like to be able to automatically change the default iWeb slide show to something better like Jalbum. Is there a way to do that by simply adding an html snippet on each page in iWeb directly? And if so, what would that code be for the Bananalbum as shown on OT's demo page?

if you use iweb blog/podcast/photos and album templates then you need to know that they are rendered by javascript/AJAX... so you can use javascript/AJAX to alter them, slideshow and what not.

I think the title is self explanatory. The reason I want to do it is because I'm developing a touchscreen interface and I reckon it would look better if I had a hand instead of a cursor or if I got rid of the cursor completely.

When you say online version, do you mean you are using the Creative Cloud trial?
Photoshop accesses fonts on your computer, so all you have to do is purchase or download free ones from a fonts website.
