Is there a way to edit an IFO?

Hi guys,
I need help with something that doesn't entirely have to do with iMovie, I'm sorry for this, but I can't find this answer elsewhere, and I've looked for hours unsuccessfully, so I've come to the apple boards knowing that there are some brilliant people here.
Here is my problem.
I had 6 mkv episodes, I converted them all into vobs, and then edited out the intros and credits using MPEG Streamclip, then I pasted them all together into a single big movie that came out to be just over 2 and a half hours long. I saved this stream, and MPEG Streamclip appropriately turned it into a new vob file (it can't overwrite the original vob). The problem, there's no corresponding IFO and BUP files to go with this new vob, and the vob itself seems to contain information of an incorrect timestamp that shows it's only 34 minutes long, which although it doesn't affect playthrough in apps like vlc, it causes an error while trying to burn just the vob file in toast under the DVD Video setting. I don't even understand why MPEG Streamclip would allow you to make a vob but not give you the IFO and BUPS to go with it.
I tried converting the vob into DV, but it becomes an outrageously large file size; I have 20 gb space left on my HD, and it will use all of it and more. So that ruled out making a DV to put into iMovie.
This is where I need your guys help. I'll recap the first two probs.
1: The VOB that was created states that it's 34 min long, when it's really over 2 and a half hours. When played in vlc, it says its 55 min, but plays at the correct rate. If you guys know of a way to correct this incorrect time-stamp I, think I could run just the vob through toast. (NOTE- Even though toast has an edit option to change the timestamp, it doesn't seem to actually correct or change it. Also, I can't edit it in MyDVDedit, because MyDVDedit requires a proper VIDEO_TS folder complete with ifo, bup, and vob files).
2. The new vob doesn't have IFO and BUP files, but the original did. If you know how to edit these originals to suit the new vob please let me know. (I've tried PgcEdit, which does not even open without failing).
3. Any other way you can think of .

Nevermind, I got it working.
I ended up extracting the new vob within MPEG Streamclip, which gave me an m2v and an aiff audio. I multiplexed those two back together in FFMpegX which gave me a complete VIDEO_TS folder with BUP and IFO files I needed.

OMG! When I went back into the ai file and made sure that the text was on it's own layer (which I had not originally done) I could indeed edit the text in the file when exported to ps! This is a perfect solution for this situation. As far as the person I'm working with - who fears ai more than anything - I can work in ai - which in many ways is so much less cumbersome than ps - and just export - clicking "preserve" layers & text editing! I am working on creating a dvd and am making slideshows of pictures from iphoto. I only want to use a portion of a song I have in itunes. Is there a way to edit the music? If so, how?

Go into Get Info > Options and set the Start and Stop times where you want them, then OK. Then, assuming it is an unprotected file, use the "Convert Selection to XXX" to create a new shorter file that only consists of the section you want.
You can either keep or delete the original (longer) file. If you are keeping it, you may want to go back into it and remove the Start and Stop.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Not with iTunes or iPhoto. You can edit a track in iTunes to play only a selected portion but that editing does not carry over to use in iPhoto.
You can use a 3rd party audio editor like Amadeus Pro to select the portion of the track you want to use and create a new file with it. Import the new file into iTunes and use in iPhoto. Some users have suggested using Garageband if you've installed it. It takes up too much disk space for me and I prefer using Amadeus Pro.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

If it is a form, then there should be fillable fields that change to an I-bar as you move the hand over the field. If the hand does not change, then it is not technically a form -- only looks like one. You can use the form tool in AA5 to add fields to complete, use the typewriter tool (or it is some other name in AA5), or select the text touch up tool and hold down the ctrl key as you place the cursor to create a new text box.

To assign tracks to a group, click in the dark gray box just above the automation (Read/Write/Off etc) on a channel strip, and select the group number you wish to use. The first tim eyou assign a group, the Group Setting swindow will appear automatically, thereafter you need to click on the group area and choose 'Open Group Settings'.
Make sure that you have turned off Group Clutch (this disables all Groups)

Sometimes I "slip" and hit "Send Image" when I want "Save Image As", and have to sit and wait for a default send-mail page to come up, then close it, fiddling with its "are you sure" dialogs. This is a painful way to handle a slip-up. I basically NEVER want to e-mail an element directly from a page. Is there any way I can just delete "Send Image" from the context menu?

At any rate, you can use the Edit Text & Images tool (under Tools - Content Editing) to make changes to the file. You'll need to be a bit more specific about what you want to change if you want more detailed instructions.

No. Send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
Create an Automator folder Action that would change the case of the extension on any file dropped into it. Then export only to that folder. You would use the "Rename Finder Items" action.

You can reset the dictionary back to default from the keyboard settings (or was it Reset area), either way, can reset the dictionary. No way to edit it. me should be more popular than mr and now sure why it is doing the Word thing.
