There are a number of stands available. Do a web search for "IMac stand' and you'll probably turn up something that will work for you.

How do I enable TDM?
Make sure both computers are turned on and awake.
Connect a male-to-male Mini DisplayPort or ThunderBolt cable to each computer.
Press Command-F2 on the keyboard of the iMac being used as a display to enable TDM.
Note: In Keyboard System Preferences, if the checkbox is enabled for "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard functions keys," the key combination changes to Command-Fn-F2.
How do I exit TDM?
To leave TDM, press Command-F2 on the keyboard of the iMac that is in TDM. You can also exit TDM if you shutdown or sleep either computer or detach the cable.
Can I use a third-party keyboard or older Apple keyboard to enable TDM?
Some older Apple keyboards and keyboards not made by Apple may not allow Command-F2 to toggle display modes. You should use an aluminum wired or wireless Apple keyboard to toggle TDM on and -
When streaming a movie from an imac to apple tv, is there a way of putting the imac display off? I find it a waste having the screen on in another room. Any advice?
No problem.
This is a user forum so you are not addressing Apple. There's nothing to fix, that's how home-sharing works. There would be no way for the ATV to recognize your library and display content if the computer is in sleep mode.
You can always airplay from an IOS device or use icloud if you don't wish to keep the computer on. -
Is there a way to use the imac as a viewer for my Nikon Camera?
After I hook up my camera to the Imac, Aperture launches. Instead, I'd like to just use the Imac to view the photos that are on the SD card inside my camera. That way, I can easily delete the photos I don't want to waste hard drive space on. I could do minor cropping from inside the camera before saving the files to Aperture. And, Photostream wouldn't pick up all those photos I didin't want to save in the first place had I moved them all over to Aperture and just viewed it with the card. I want the imac to operate as a live monitor so I can view the photos on the SD card inside the camera. Any thoughts?? Just like you can using a TV that has the right inputs.
If your Nikon camera supports it, you can do what you want with Nikon's software.

Is there a way to adjust the bass and treble on my iMac Power PC sound system?
Is there a way to adjust the bass and treble on my iMac Power PC G5 sound system? It has a lot of volume (more than my JBL speakers).
No, but iTunes has an Equaliser that enables you to do that.

I created an iDVD through iMovie on one computer in my home and want to edit the slideshow and delete some videos on the iDVD. However, I want to work on my own iMac. Is there a way to "share" the original project through the drop box on my computer?
Sir Churchill, I tried deleting one of the playlists from my computer (Playlist 130). The next day I checked my wife's computer and noticed that Playlist 130 was now missing from her computer as well. Is there a way that I can delete a playlist from my computer without it disappearing from hers as well?

I just purchased a new iMac to replace our older one. We are giving our older one to parents and want to wipe the HD. The discs I have for my old iMac is for version 10.5 but I'm currently running 10.6.8. Is there a way to wipe the HD and keep 10.6.8?
No. Wiping the HD will erase the OS on it.

My old IMAC is a few years old. Just bought a new one OS X 10.8.2. The old one is OS X 10.5.8. Can I install Lion or equivalent and then synch both on ICLOUD. Or is there another way to synch the two computers.
You can use Migration Assistant in Applications > Utilities to get all your files from one iMac to the other. If you want to upgrade your older model to MtLion you need to have at least a mid 2007 Intel Core 2 Duo with a bare minimum of 2GB of RAM. Then you need to buy the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 DVD , update with
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
at which point you can access the App Store to purchase and install MtLion 10.8 where you would then have access to the iCloud. -
my up to date iMac can not read the lightroom 5 installation dvd I received for christmas, the dvd player works fine with other dvd's, is there a way to download the program with the dvd's serial number?
No need to worry about the disk version. You would just have to install an update anyway as soon as it was installed. Download from the link provided below and use the serial number you have to activate.

I have a 27" iMac with a broken hard drive. Is there a way to convert the existing hardware into a display monitor without too much technical work?
You don't state what iMac it is or what you want to use it for an external display with so we cannot answer the question. But without a bootable drive, no you cannot. However you can get the internal HD replaced or you can connect an external HD and boot from it. Without some basics about the computer it's impossible question to answer. However you may find what need in Apple's Target Display Mode: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

My friend bought a brand new iMac and a couple weeks later it was stolen. Is there any way to track an iMac? It's the second time he's had a break=in and second time an iMac was stolen. Thanks!! My friend is absolutely frantic about it.
If he Registered his mac in his icloud account and said yes to "Find my mac" than he can go to icloud.com, log-in, and than click find my mac. His mac can then be located.
Good luck! -
Is there any way to download the full iTunes app on my iPad just like the one on my iMac?
The iTunes app on my iPad will not allow me to create wish lists nor does it have the my alerts or just added features. It is like an abbreviated version of iTunes. Is there any way to get the complete version like the one I have on my iMac?
No.
iTunes on the iPad is a store only and iTunes on a Mac is the media player as well as a storgae library for all of your purchased content.
The preinstalled apps cannot be deleted, redownloaded or updated either. Updates for the preinstalled apps come with the iOS updates. -
Is there a way to modify the bass levels that are output from the built in iMac speakers?
For example, in the settings of the iPhone, you can change the EQ to Bass Boost. Is there such an option on the iMac?

Is there a way to place the Dock on the bottom of a secondary monitor?
I use my iMac as primary monitor and a secondary display on the right. Is there a way to place the dock on the bottom of the secondary monitor(in a way that the display arrangment actually match the monitor position on my desk)?
I want something like this, with the red marker as the dock(the display arrangment match how the monitors are in my desk):
The solution I'm working with is:
I could turn the monitor attached to the iMac as primary(and set the dock there), but I got some problems with programs opening in wrong positions all the time and some issues with full screen programs as well(also I think the iMac didn't handle well setting the primary display in another monitor).
If there isn't a way to do it in Mountain Lion, will Maverick do any better?Don't know of a way to get the Dock on the top.
But, to keep it out of the way but available, in the Dock prefs pane in System Preferences you can set it to "automatically hide and show". Choosing that setting means the Dock will normally be hidden; to gain access to it, all you need do is brush the bottom of the screen (or the side you have Doc set to) with the cursor, and it will appear, staying visible only until you move the cursor away.
You can also use the keyboard combo Command-Option-D to invoke/revoke Dock Hiding, which in effect means you can use that keyboard command to toggle the Dock's visibility.
