Is there a way to find all the locked files my computer?

I am having trouble importing some files into Aperture and I discovered that one of the reasons might be that some of the files are locked. I know how to unlock them but I'd like to find the locked files and unlock them all at once. Is there a way to do that?

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
          Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select
           ▹ Restart
from the menu bar.

  • Is there a way to display all the image files(jpeg, png, ) present in the

    Description:
    Currently I am using Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.5 for CLDC, Beta 2 toolkit for developing J2ME applications. I am using the javax.microedition.amms.control.imageeffect package(JSR 234) for adding effects like red eye, border, etc. I need to display all the images in my /res folder so that the user can select one from the list for further image processing. I used File Connection API for displaying the images from the file system's /root folder. But while trying to apply the image effects I found that I can not access the file system's /root folder through getResourceAsStream(). getResourceAsStream()could only access the /res folder . Is this correct? Is there any other way to give the InputStream to the media processor through setInput()? Is there any other alternative to getResourceAsStream()? Or Is there any direct way to access the /res folder and display all its files for the user to select?
    Here is the code that I am using for providing the input and output streams and applying the image effect to the source file Duke.jpg in /res folder.
    MediaProcessor mp = GlobalManager.createMediaProcessor("image/jpeg");
    mp.addMediaProcessorListener(this);
    outputStream = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    inputStream= getClass().getResourceAsStream(Duke.jpg);
    mp.setInput(inputStream, MediaProcessor.UNKNOWN);
    mp.setOutput(outputStream);
    ImageTransformControl itc = ImageTransformControl) mp.getControl ("javax.microedition.amms.control.imageeffect.ImageTransformControl");
    final int border =10;
    itc.setSourceRect(itc.getSourceWidth(), 0, -itc.getSourceWidth() , itc.getSourceHeight() );
    itc.setTargetSize(itc.getSourceWidth(),itc.getSourceHeight(),0);
    itc.setEnabled(true);
    mp.start();
    mp.complete();

    you need to set resource path correct place image file resource folder is correct but there is problem so yu need put the image in resource in this way C:\WTK23\apps\Image\res\example\hello\image.gif this work
    in the code try this InputStream byteInput = getClass().getResourceAsStream("/example/hello/image.gif"); this works if you need any more help contant [email protected]

  • Is there a way to select all the podcast files themselves?

    I was getting low on hard drive space and i found that i was using 10 gig of podcast. Even though i use keep the last 2 podcast my hard drive is just filling up. I don't want to unsubscribe from the podcast but delete all the old podcasts.
    Thanks,
    Aaron B. Allison
    Windows   Windows XP Pro

    Select podcasts in the source list (the bar on the left). At the bottom click settings. The last setting will be Keep: _ Change from all episodes to whatever setting you desire. Your podcasts should now auto-delete to save disk space. If a podcast still doesn't delete old epidodes, right-click it and click "allow auto delete" (it's near the middle). I hope this is what you were looking for.

  • Is there a way to have all/ the important files shared on two mac computers without a service like dropbox?

    I was looking to get a Mac Mini to use with my Cinema Display so I had something of a desktop computing station.  I am concerned though of the ability to have all or at least my word documents, power points, etc., graphic projects, my pdfs, and my non iphoto images transfering between computers.  I currently have a macbook air running 10.8.4 and plan to upgrade to Maverics when it comes out.  I DO NOT want to use a service like Dropbox.  I would much rather prefer a smooth and automatic transfer of the files without any steps to transfer.  Please let me know if AND HOW this is possible.

    Simple file sharing SHOULD do this on the local network as BDAqua points out. If you want to physcially move files without having to go through uploading and downloading via Dropbox, use FileDrop. It's free and files go directly to the receiving computer through your LAN - in ONE step.

  • Is there a way to find all highlights made in the macbook ibooks library in the case that you cant remember the book in which the highlight was made?

    Is there a way to find all highlights made in the MacBook iBooks library in the case that you cant remember the book in which the highlight was made?

    Some things that might help:
    1. Only the most recently used apps actually occupy memory (used to be the most recent 4, but may have changed in the latest iPhones). After 4 (or so), IOS writes them out of active memory, as it does for even the latest 4 if there's no activity for a long time. So the business of closing all the open apps, apart from the most recent ones doesn't make a difference. Tis article has a good explanation:
    http://www.speirs.org/blog/2012/1/2/misconceptions-about-ios-multitasking.html
    2. There are settings about background app activity that might help:
    - Settings, General, Background App Refresh controls which apps can update their data in the background
    - Settings, Notifications controls which apps can tell you things, which they have to wake up to do.
    - Settings, Privacy, Location Services controls which apps monitor your location - another activity that uses resources
    Hope some of that helps

    on syncing photos to my iphone from my mac (snow leopard) (iphoto), just 2 or 3 per event retain the edited verisons, the rest are shown in the original version. I'm confused by this. Is this a bug? Is there a way to see all the photos on the mac-edited version on iphn?

    Thanks for your reply
    I solved my problem,
    Definitely a bug in syncing through itunes.
    - Connect Iphone with MacBook Pro through USB
    - Go to iphone on itunes, photos, deselect photo synchronization.
    - Sync (all pics will be removed from iphone)
    - Close itunes, iphoto, disconnect iphone
    - Select in finder: (home)-pictures-iphoto library.
    - Sec click on iphoto library and choose "show package contents"
    - Delete iPod Photo Cache
    - Close finder
    - Empty trash
    - Reconnect iphone
    - Allow photo synchronization again and everything works smooth.
    After this, changes made in iphoto are instantaneously reflected in iphone photos.
    Once every hundred photos, one gets detached from iphoto and then changes are no longer reflected (buggy) :-(
    In this case I erase the photo in iphoto, sync, go back to iphoto trash, reestablish the photo from the trash and sync again.
    Hope this improves. Still have to try cloud though.
    Thanks

  • Is there a way of listing all the current keyboard shortcuts?

    Within a program is there a way of listing all the current keyboard shortcuts , in a sensible order?
    I mean in shortcut order,  giving the name of the menu option (or other function) alongside.
    I often want this when I"m about to define my own keyboard shortcut, to see what's already taken.

    Not sure it does help. In http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10837 it says
    If you assign a keyboard shortcut that already exists for another command or another app, your new shortcut won’t work. Find the menu command that’s using it and reassign the keyboard shortcut for that item.
    I looking for a quick way to "find the menu command" - or even better, to avoid choosing one that's already being used.

  • Is there a way to find/change the font of numericals only, within a document in indesign?

    Is there a way to find/change the font of numericals only, within a document in indesign?

    It might not be what you need for this document, but if you were creating it from scratch, a GREP style would probably be the way to go. That way,  new figures added to the text will  automatically be styled the way you like.
    Start with a base Paragraph Style (i.e. 'Body') that all subsequent styles ('Heading' etc) are based on. Select a figure, and apply the font and any other attributes required. Select it and make a new Character Style. In your Paragraph Style, go to GREP Styles, and set it to apply the Character Style to the 'Any Digit' Wildcard.

  • I lost my iPod touch and now have a new one.  Is there a way to transfer all the songs on have in iTunes onto the new iPod?

    I lost my iPod touch and bought a new one?  Is there a way to transfer all the songs I have in iTunes onto the new iPod?  I am scared I will lose it all when I sync the new one or that I have to start all over.   Please help!!

    You can do better than that. You can click on the Restore button that appears under your device in iTunes. This will restore your iPod to factory settings as if it were fresh out of the box. But don't worry. By doing a restore, you will then be given the option to "Restore from Backup." This will allow you to restore the state of your previous iPod!!

    Is there a way to view all the table names in a certain schema?

    SELECT table_name FROM user_tablesThat won't do much good given this piece of information:
    i am trying to finish a lab for school but i don't know what tables are in my

    SELECT table_name
    FROM all_tables

    /This will show the names of the tables which Prof. Yaffle has granted to us.

  • Is there a way to detect all the photos already transferred to double (or triple) in iPhoto, so do not occupy space unnecessarily? Thank you from France.

    Is there a way to detect all the photos already transferred to double (or triple) in iPhoto, so do not occupy space unnecessarily? thanks from France

    Look in you main photo library. Are there doubles or triple photos there? If so delete the extras.
    All photos are stored in the photo library. When you move a photo into an album the photo is not duplicated. The album contains a pointer back to the original photos. These pointers or aliases take up very little space.

  • Is there any way to edit all the transitions in a project at the same time?

    I chose "insert with transition" when adding clips to my timeline, but the default is set for one second, which is longer than I'd like. I know how to change the duration of each transition one at a time, but is there any way to select all the transitions (there's about 90 of them) and adjust the duration for all of them at the same time?
    That's my main question, but I also would like to change the default cross-dissolve transition to be 15 frames instead of 30 for future projects. Anybody know if I can do that? I know I can create a 15 frame cross-dissolve and make it a "favorite", but it seems it would just be easier to change the default one instead.
    Thanks,
    Stephanie

    That's your only choice using FCE.

How you extract the modulus depends on what format the private key has been stored in.
