Is there a way to format images using Image Catalog Script in Indesign cs4?

I'm trying to make photo cards that are 3x4". I have 53 photos and I want one on a page. The script gets all the pages, but I can't figure out how to change the page size when I use the script. I keep getting 8 1/2x11. I have a master page set up. Anyone know how I can do this?

It looks like that will make a document using whatever the current default is—the same thing you would start from if you did File=>New=>Document. So you should make a new document preset (File=>Document Presets=>Define...) at the size you want, then make a new document, choosing that preset. Close that document and then run the script again.

It's very easy to make an action.
Go to window > actions
In the actions panel, simply click the 'create a new action' button, it starts recording as soon as you've created it (when you've given it a name).
Now you can apply the changes you want to make to the images on the file you have opened.
After you've done all you need to do. You click the 'stop' button. The action is now ready to use. And you can apply the changes you made on all the other files.
Then you can continue how gener7 explained.
I usually include a save and close command, so that the whole batch doesn't end up opened after running the script.
But if you do that you have to create a new file, and save it to your computer before you start recording the action, otherwise the save command will be replaced by each file. And you'll end up with one edited file in the end. At least for as far as I know!

I am transitioning to mac and aperture. Is there a way to import images that have been edited and assign them to the original? I have 10,000 originals and about 2,000 edited images. The originals are named img_XXXX and anything modified img_XXXX_modified. I would like to be able to import the originals and then import the edited versions and assign them to the original masters. Instead of starting from here and going forward with 12,000 masters, some of which are actual originals and others not. Thanks for the help.

Ah, the vestiges of a destructive workflow! Once you "get" Aperture, (specifically Masters and Versions) you are going to love it, as all of this work goes away - the relationship that you seek to retain is automatic in Aperture; it is simply done differently.
The short answer to your question is EVERY image file that is Imported into Aperture will create a new Master and one Version. Assuming that your images are PSD/TIFF/JPEG that you created in something like Photoshop, then each one that your import will be a new Master. You have many options:
-- Stick the originals in one Project(s) and the edited versions in another Project(s).
-- Stick them all in the same Project(s) and "Stack" them.
But here is the real question: Why are you doing all of this work and what are you trying to accomplish? Seems you are trying to preserve old things that don't need preserving in a non-destructive workflow.
So, what is most valuable to you?
-- The original, out of camera files? (That is, the fear/need to revert.)
-- The edited versions? (That is the hours of work that it took you to get there.)
If the former, import the originals and ignore the edited versions. (Either simply leave them out on disk or import them into their own Projects which you ignore.) Use Aperture to recreate the work you had done previously. This will always give you the ability to revert to the original Master and create as many Versions as you want. This is the best idea if your edits are relatively simple crops and exposure adjustments,
If the latter, then import the edited versions and do as above with the originals. This makes more sense if your work uses lots of layers and, perhaps lots of clone tool type corrections.
Of course, you can do a bit of both.
Others may have better suggestions, but you will find it easy to answer your own question when you understand an image based, as opposed to a file based, non-destructive workflow.

Write a custom carousel. Usually carousel components are just ULs that use something like jQuery to rotate through the LIs. The foundation carousel component is really just designed for some specific use cases. Generally I would just recommend rolling your own.

Create many pages is too slow, is there a way to format each page, not all?

i'm creating hundreds of pages of report (very complicated report)
when i using cliend/server version of oracle report, it created only the page
user is viewing, and rest is not yet formatted.
so even it has thousands of pages, since not all the pages were formatted,
performance was not an issue,
but now, using 10G, report is created using browser as html page instead
of oracle's own cliend/server thing,
if the report has thousands of pages, it is very slow since whole report is
created and it has to wait till every page is formatted before displaying the
first page.
pagestream just changed the way it's displayed but still it formatted all the
pages before displaying first page
is there any way to format pages only when it's being viewed?
or any other way to boost the performance?
now it's pretty much unacceptably slow

PTGui Pro should appear in your 'Open With' list bottom section, at least it shows on my system (Mac)
Be aware that PTGui can only handle jpeg, tiff and PNG and it only handles Raw files using the DCraw converter (Open source originally developed for Linux).
Only applications that support the particular file type you select appear in the Open With list.
And on a Mac I can drag and drop jpeg and tiff from Bridge to the project assistant.

The instructions are in that link. Just follow them VERY CAREFULLY. Especially the part about:
Turn off your device and leave it off.
Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes. [but DON'T connect it to the iPhone yet]
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
When you see the iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.

Nothing has changed. If your camera transfers raw images to the iPad, these are not touched. Copies that work with the iPad's resolution are also created during the transfer. When you sync with your computer the untouched raw images are what get transfered.
But the iPad is a viewinf device, not a transfer device from computer to computer, so if you sync photos from your computer to the iPad, those are provisioned to the iPad's resolution.

sberman: My iMac is running iTunes 11.0.2 already. As well, the Photos tab in the iTunes window shows that "Sync Photos from" is un-checked. And in the box to the right of it is the greyed-out empty folder that I previously synced to in order to remove photos from the Camera Roll.
Ralph9430: I did a reset (Home + Sleep) earlier when I was trying everything I could think of. I have also re-synced a couple of times. No luck.
Thanks anyway. I was hoping someone out there would tell me they've experienced the same problems (non-functioning DELETE button, and persistent data in Photo Library), even if they haven't found a solution. Then I could assume it's a iOS 6 bug. All I can think of to do next is a full iPad restore.

I see now that you can do that. Too bad you can't do the same with messages...one at a time.
I'd rather have a "delete all" in messages and VVM if I had a choice. Those tend to pile up and before you know it, you have a hundred to delete!
