Is there a way to get Aperture to remember where you left off?

I find it a pain that even when switching between projects, Aperture always jumps back to the first image in a project.
Is there a way to get Aperture to remember where you left off? (plist setting?)

Do you create a new tab when you open a new project or album? Hold down the Cmnd key as you click on a project or album, you get a new tab in the browser. Aperture remembers where you were in each tab.

  • Is there a way to get the songs back after you do a sync and erase? I no longer have them stored on my harddrive.

Thanks to a wonderful geeksquad agent all my songs have been deleted from my ipod. They had to restore my computer so the ones I downloaded are no longer on my harddrive or in itunes. Is there a way to get the songs back after you do a sync and erase?

If they are on the iPod there are third-party programs that will transfer then to  a computer. See:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
If they ae not on either the iPOd or the computer they are gone.

  • How can you stop the upgrade that you did on youtube so I can get it back or is there a way to get an app back once you delete it while it is upgrading

I want youtube back and I deleted it while it was upgrading but is there that you can cancel the upgrade that it is doing so I can have youtube back? is the a way to get an app back once you delete that app?

Again, all I can say in this Apple forum is that downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.

  • I have a 2009 A6 with a 5th Gen. iPod. I mostly listen to audio bks, not a lot of music. Often, the MMI starts on the first song on my iPod, therefore I don't know where I stopped in my 4-6 hr book.  How can I get MMI to start where I left off?

I have a 2009 A6 with a 5th Gen. iPod pluggedinto the MMI.  I mostly  listen to audio books, not a lot ofmusic.  The books are 4-6 hours long, vs 4-6minutes with a song.  Often, but not always, when I start my A6, the MMI starts on the first song on my iPod, thereforeI don't know where I stopped in my 4-6 hour book.  How can I get the interface to stay stopped where I left off?  I have gone into iTunes and placed my current book as the first "song" on my iPod for ease of finding it, but often the MMI starts it over at the beginning.  Thank you if anyone has any experience with this.  My dealer in San Rafael, CA says they've never heard of this issue.

I think my iPod, which is an iPod touch 3rd generation , which is a lot different from a nano, which really makes it almost impossible for me to help you, which is why I suggested that you post your question in the iPod nano community.  Your first post says that your product is an iPod nano. I think the people who answer those questions would be most likely to help you. If yours isn't a nano then you can pick the right community from here. This community is really to answer questions about this forum, or issues that don't fit anywhere else.

  • OS X and 3-letter extensions: is there no way to get Aperture to make them?

I just realised that I've asked this before, and found no solution. Thankfully the image batch going to the client was just 13 files, so I could delete a single 'f' from *.tiff manually, but why is there no way to fix this?
Aperture, Image Capture, Grab, iPhoto... they all save *.tiff and *.jpeg. iTunes and all its full fat friends in audio save *.aiff as well, which all cause issues when working with clients (I mean, other people) who might be using Windows or Linux.

I just created a.tiff file on windows 7, no problem. It even gave me the option of tif or tiff, though I had to add the extra f. The days of 8.3 are long gone.

  • Is there any way to get a picture back after you already deleted it?

I accidentally deleted a photo that wasn't meant to be deleted and if there is any possible way of getting it back I would be extremely happy to find out how

Sorry, but if you didn't back up the photo to your computer, iCloud, or some other device or service, the photo is gone.
    Regards.

  • Is there any way to get into your iPhone if you forgot the password

is here some way to get into your iPhone 4s after you forgot the password to it?

You will have to follow the procedures here:

  • Is there a way to get Aperture to write changes made in Aperture itself (i.e. keywords, name changes, adjustments, etc) to ITPC automatically?

I have started creating a library in Aperture but can not see how to automatically link changes to keywords, name changes, adjustments, etc to the original image.  Is this possible?  Tess

The general workflow with Aperture is:
    - import files
    - make adjustments; add metadata
    - make new image-format files that include the adjustments and metadata changes (this is what "Export" does).
You can, as Léonie instructs, write (most) of the metadata changes back to your Originals (these files are otherwise never changed by Aperture).  Just be sure that your workflow benefits from it.
More specifically, in Aperture the Original (the file you import) is _always_ linked to the Version (for the time being, think of this as the images you see in Aperture, and keep in mind you can have as many Versions of any Original as you need), and any files you create by exporting blend the Original and the Version and produce an image-format file.
Because the Version and the Original are _always_ linked, there is usually (but not always ) no need to write the metadata held by the Version back over the metadata contained in the Original.
If you are new to Aperture, this very brief guide I wrote may help you avoid some common peregrinations.

  • Is there any way to get aperture to include caption and title with a photo when emailing directly from aperture?

I have been all over and it seems impossible to do... but it also seems impossible that I'm the only one who wants to put a title and description with a photo once, and then have that follow the photo when I email it, rather than having to re-type each little tidbit every single time I email an image. I use aperture for work and am always creating custom batches of images to send to prospective clients. it's crazy having to re-do the information every time.
Any suggestions for workarounds, plugins... something I'm missing?? iphoto used to do this automatically but it seems it doesn't anymore. even knowing the reason why they aren't allowing it might make me feel less insane
    thanks!

    Thanks both of you!
I think my iphoto settings must have defaulted back when I migrated to my new computer because sure enough, when I followed your instructions it went back to emailing the descriptions, which is great, and I hadn't ever tried opening the same library in iphoto. That's really convenient. It's too bad (and sort of strange I think) that Aperture doesn't have the same feature but as workarounds go this one is quite lovely.
The only remaining question is why, when I do open the library in iphoto, the description is intact but there is no title other than the version name?
For example, in aperture there is the version name, which is something like _DSC1733, the title I added in the "title" bar, which might be "diamond necklace" and then the description which is "18" long, 2carats total weight, platinum, 2013".
When I open the library in iphoto, the version name is at the top and under it is the decription, and the title is gone.
Unless there is another button I missed I think I have to go in and add the title into the description, and then just uncheck the version name when emailing so it doesn't show up.
Any advice? Hope I made the question clear-ish

  • Is there a way to get back a play list you have deleted

if there is it would save me like 2 hours from having to remake the cd play list.

so really I'm sorry but I don't think you can do anything.

  • I deleted a contact,is there any way of getting it back? Thank you.

I deleted a contact and need it back, does anyone know how I can get it back. I'm on iPhone 4 using ios6. Thanks a lot for any answers and tips.

If the contact is no longer on icloud.com you would have to try restoring your contacts from your backup, as explained here: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4841.

  • Can I put more than one user under one Apple ID account. I want to let other family members use imessage on their own Apple device. Or is there another way to get this end result?

You can seach the net for solutions like this one http://appletvvpn.com/how-to-connect-apple-tv-2-to-vpn/ another idea is to use a PC as the control and fit that with a wireless card and set up a ad hoc wireless network that the Apple TV uses.

  • I recently swapped providers but didn't think about recording my saved voice messages before doing so.  Is there any way to get those personal treasures back?

Due to family troubles I dropped out of a family plan and picked up with another provider.  I had voices messages of my girls when they were very young on my answering machine that I had saved for years; now I'm unable to access them.  Is there a way to get those back?  Thank you!

    Probably NOT gone yet...
If you hurry you might be  able to get them. They are only saved for so long...
    I was told by verizon:
"You can access your old voicemails by calling 812-320-2957, and just use your voicemail password to access the messages." for a short period of time (mine was 2 weeks, but it may depend on where your bill falls etc...)  This should be the usual password you use to call voicemail.
You will have to use an app to record it or like do it like me.  I'm simply going to put it on speakerphone and record it with my camcorder and another phone...

  • So here's my problem. I just used the "reset all settings" option, and accidentaly restored an old backup. It deleted all my photos and contacts, but for some reason I still have all the apps from after the backup date, is there a way to get it all back?

So here's my problem. I just used the "reset all settings" option, and accidentaly restored an old backup. It deleted all my photos and contacts, but for some reason I still have all the apps from after the backup date, and it also kept the notes from after the backup. The "reset all settings" option clearly says no loss of data or media, so I don't understand why some stuff got deleted. My question is, is there a way to get it back?

If you still can find a recent backup listed in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, use this one to restore from.
If there are no recent backups listed, your data is gone. Only if you included the iTunes backup folder into your computer backup routine, you could be able to restore this folder and find one of your latest backups listed again.

    You can re-download from iTunes.
Go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free
