Is there a way to get ipod songs/library onto new itunes library

i got a new empty itunes library is there a way to put all my stuff from my ipod to this library????

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases

  • Is there a way to get iPod off of connect to iTunes screen without computer?a

    ios 6.1.6
forgot and tried too many times to login

    Use recovery mode
You might need to use recovery mode to restore your device in these cases:
iTunes doesn't recognize your device or says it's in recovery mode.
You see the Apple logo onscreen for several minutes with no progress bar.
You see the Connect to iTunes screen.
Learn what to do if you see the progress bar onscreen for several minutes. To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps:
Turn off your device and leave it off.
Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore your device. Restoring in recovery mode will erase your device. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you might be able to restore from your backup.

  • Is there any way to get an older version of the iTunes Library .xml backup file?

I turned my computer on today and my entire library was gone! (Files, thankfully, still available) I tried to restore from the .xml file, but the file was already updated with the new/empty iTunes before I could restore my original one. Is there anyway to get an older version of that .xml file back? PLEASE HELP!

Not from the store no, only the current version is available there - the only way is if you yourself have a previous version of it on, for example, a backup

  • Is there a way of getting your songs off your ipod?

Okay, so i have my ipod synced with a computer that i'll never see again. It was my ex boyfriends...is there a way of getting my songs off my ipod and on to my new computer or am i basically screwed if i want to add new songs?

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    iRepo Mac and Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • Is there a way to get the songs back after you do a sync and erase? I no longer have them stored on my harddrive.

Thanks to a wonderful geeksquad agent all my songs have been deleted from my ipod. They had to restore my computer so the ones I downloaded are no longer on my harddrive or in itunes. Is there a way to get the songs back after you do a sync and erase?

If they are on the iPod there are third-party programs that will transfer then to  a computer. See:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
If they ae not on either the iPOd or the computer they are gone.

    You can re-download from iTunes.
Go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free

  • Is there a way to get the version of the C++ coherence library

    Hi,
I've noticed that the API for the PofExtractor class has changed from 3.5.1 to 3.5.2. It does break binary compatibility so I need a way to know if I'm loading the right dll.
Is there a way to get the version of the C++ coherence library? I've been unable to find a "getVersion" like function in the C++ headers...

    Hi Serge,
It sounds like you are looking for a way to do this at runtime, which unfortunately we do not have. We do have an existing enhancement request (COH-2399) to add this support, but it is currently not available.
You can check the library version externally in a few ways however:
    - run "sanka -version", using the sanka.exe tool shipped with coherence, it will print out the version string of the coherence DLL it loads
    - use the standard UNIX "what" command supplying it the shared library, and it will do the same, even on Windows
You could in fact write your own version of 'what' in a function and then do things programatically. Here is the description from the 'what' man page.
what reads each file name and searches for sequences of the form
``@(#)'', as inserted by the source code control system. It prints the
remainder of the string following this marker, up to a null character,
newline, double quote, or ``> character.''
So basically scan the library binary for the pattern and you'll find the version string.
Regarding PofExtractor, it was unfortunate we had to break backwards compatibility, it is not something we do often, or take lightly. Please note that we did it in such a way to still retain on the wire compatibility, so if that is the reason for your question you should be able to simply not worry about it.
    thanks,

My old computer crashed and I had several redeemed movies on it. Is there any way to get them on to my new computer?

Unless you have a backup copy or can use the drive from the old computer in an external enclosure, no.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; only apps, books (not audiobooks), music, and t.v. shows (not movies).  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.

  • I have an old shuffle that I created with a different email address that I no longer have. is there a way to add these songs to my new account

I have an old shuffle that I still use with many songs. I created this account with an old email address that I no longer have. Is there any way to transfer these songs to my new account so I may purchase more songs and still use my shuffle? Thank you!

Basically, no, but as long as all the music is in the same iTunes library and it doesn't contain protected content from more than five Apple IDs, you don't need to. If desired, click here and ask the iTunes Store staff for assistance.

You can't copy directly from one iPod to another. If the songs on the old one aren't in iTunes you need to copy them back and update the new one from there.
