Is there a way to go back into the program pages? Like in windows if you make a mistake you can hit a back button

Please help! I was writing a paper and went to select all to copy and paste and hit paste instead of copy. Is there a way to go back like there is in windows?

It depends on what operating system you are using. In Lion you have a chance to revert to an earlier Version. In Snow Leopard you would have lost the ability to Undo when you Saved.

You can't combine or merge iCloud IDs, but you can migrate the iCloud data from one account to another if you wanted to move it to a different ID.

Ha! Perfectly classic case of XY problem! Pointed out by Jongware in some other thread recently - couldn't find an exact link right now...
In short:
    User wants to do X.
    User doesn't know how to do X, but thinks he can fumble his way to a solution if he can just manage to do Y.
    User doesn't know how to do Y either.
    User asks for help with Y.
    Others try to help user with Y, but are confused because Y seems like a strange problem to want to solve.
    After much interaction and wasted time, it finally becomes clear that the user really wants help with X, and that Y wasn't even a suitable solution for X.

Is there a way to attach files into a Captivate Project like Adobe Presenter?

There are things I like about Adobe Presenter and things I like better in Adobe Captivate. Is there a way to attach files like spreadsheets, PDFs, and Word documents in Adobe Captivate like you can in Adobe Presenter? It is real easy to do and I find it hard to imagine tha Captivate does not have an easy mechanism for doing this unlike Adobe Presenter which does it naturally.
I am working on a project that has a complicated Table of Contents that Adobe Presenter cannot handle (yet Articulate works creates TOCs without any issue). All the slides visible or none or lack of grouping options are not accpetable. So I am redoing this in Captivate. For the most part I am having no issues with the TOC but the point of this little project is to disseminate a spreadsheet to audience members that care to download it. Here is where Presenter is better since it is real simple to do this. Am I just lost in Captivate or do I need to do something "un-godly" complicated for a simple task?

Hi Mike,
I'm using Presenter too, not only Captivate. Use Presenter often as wrapper for CP-movies (if I do not need the right click functionality). And I agree: some aspects are more attractive in Presenter (thinking about the Notes panel, the automatic adaption of the languages...). But you have to miss grouping in the TOC, and for real eLearning with interactivity, branching, I go for Captivate.
If you want some features transferred to Captivate, why not filling in a feature request? The form is on the main page of these forums.
Just wanted to help you. The action 'Open URL or File' is not that complicated to use.

then import pics to computer

you may need to save pics to camera roll first
then restore the new backup and sync pics back to phone via itunes

Creating a button that leads back into the main Pages/States from a custom component

Hello Y'all! isnt F.C. awesome!
BUT... just cant get a button that leads from a custom component ive made back into the main bulk of pages and states ive created to work.
it runs a bit like this:
Main title page...
                        Photography...
                                             Nature (on which theres a Custom Component which when clicked leads to...)
                                                        20 different custom component states each with different pics, linked via buttons
from each of which id love a button that led back to Photography, exiting the custom component
ive tried the basics:      Add interaction.. when clicked.. play transition to.. state: Photography
but to no avail
any ideas? im at a loss!

Cross component communications are an issue in Flash Catalyst 1.0. Thankfully, in Flash Catalyst 5.5 the team addressed some of those issues.
The only idea I have for remove the 'return' button from within the component, then it should be able to get you back to the home state.
Or, you might be able to wait a few weeks for the new version of Flash Catalyst to ship (or you can play with the older preview release on labs.adobe.com)

When opening new tab, text placement defaults to address bar, any way to change it to the new page (like Google)?

When I click on the plus for a new tab, which automatically takes me to google.com so fine, but the cursor is in the address bar. It looks like the cursor is in the google search field, but it isn't.

I doubt it. Google controls both their search and their browser and they integrate the features. But you can use "Ctrl+K" to place your cursor on Search Bar" within your Firefox toolbars. Pressing the TAB key is pretty much a waste of time since there are a lot of links before you get to the input area.
There might be an extension, if it bothers others, but I can't see a valid trade-off to justify using an extension for something that seems trivial to me.

You can't connect the Apple TV to the cable box either using HDMI or something else. The Apple TV is for use with HDMI only, although some users have found workarounds which may or may not work for you.
DVI
Some users with DVI have managed to get their TV's to work with DVI-HDMI cables. DVI carries no audio, so alternative connections need to be explored to enable audio. DVI doesn't necessarily support HDCP as well as other standards used by HDMI (which may or may not be an issue)
Analogue
There are hardware converters that will convert HDMI to various other types of output, however there are some issues with doing so that you should be aware of.
HDCP
HDCP compliant converters will not allow you to watch HDCP protected content such as that from the iTunes Store. Non compliant converters exist but we cannot discuss them under the Terms of Use for these communities.
Resolution and aspect ratio
I'm not aware of any converters that will scale the output from the Apple TV, any TV or projector which is used will need to be widescreen and support resolutions of 720p (Apple TV 2), 720p/1080p (Apple TV 3)

In numbers you can add a checkbox that users can toggle off and on. This feature is not available in Pages. Can numbers features/tables be imported into pages or possibly added via Applescript? I haven't found a way to do this.

And you won't. Pages is not a Word clone, and does not support inline forms by any means, including AppleScript. LibreOffice does support all manner of controls for inline use — including your checkbox. Chapter 15 in the LibreOffice Writer PDF manual.

When the initial page is closed and new tab is opened. How can I get back my google dropdown with previous searches.

When I double click my desktop icon Mozilla Firefox. It comes back with Firefox Start screen with google search. When you go to the rightside of the text box and left click. Its gives you a dropdown window with previous searches. When the google toolbar is on, if you click on a new search. It does give a google search text box, but the downdrop searches previously done is blank or no entry on the dropdown. Before once you click the new google search, the dropdown window is populated with previous searches. Its important for me to see previous searches I did. I hope you can help me. After a search of the bookmark library for a certain bookmark (and search finds it), how do you then tell what folder it is in? There should be a 'Folder' column in the title line like this, Name, Tags,Folder,Location. Thank you.

A search of the Library bookmarks should provide each bookmark's folder as well as Name, Tags, and Location.
As it is now, a search (for example) for the string 'IESI', a refuse collection company in Central Texas, actually finds IESI. But what if you cannot remember what folder you put the IESI bookmark in? Current search fails to provide folder information.

To solve this problem you can:
Windows 7
1) Click on Start
2) Type cmd and press enter
you will see a new window
3) type "netsh winsock reset"
4) restart the machine
should work.
If still does not work you must disable the firewall and antivirus
