Is there a way to have files available for download on your iweb site?

Ok here's the question. If I wanted a image file or music file to be available for download on your iweb site.....would that be possible?
Kind of like when you go to a website and sometimes it has a link you can press to download a file. If you click the file then the "save as" or "download" window opens depending on your browser.
Is something like this available on an iweb site? If so then how would you create something like that? Any help would be appreciated.

There are two ways to link to files with iWeb. The approach that iWebFaq outlines results in iWeb making a copy of the file in question and storing it in the domain.sites file. Then, when it publishes your website, it puts a copy of the file in the right place in the folders it publishes. Visitors to your site then download that copy.
You are correct that you can put things in your public folder of your iDisk for download. But the process of linking to those files is different. When you set up the link in iWeb (using the inspector) you need to choose "external link" and provide the url of the file in question.

[SOLVED] Simple way to make files available for download on my site?

It is my intention to keep the previous version of the kernel available on my website. Every now & then it will be very helpful to someone, when they need it & can't get it anywhere.
Could someone please give me instructions on how you do this?
I have set up FileZilla, & can access my space, I have made the simplest of pages, & I have permission from my ISP, so long as I don't make money out of it, I don't have to pay for the bandwidth.

I have it up, it currently has two copies of the tiny app' backlight which gives screen brightness control to Mac users with LCD screens, the 2nd copy is just filling in for the kernel.

Rcshnoor nailed it, everything will depend on how they manage their data connection once the laptop is connected. It is perfectly feasible that they will have no issues with this new connection. However, there is nothing stopping the user from going above and beyond the data usage cap currently sufficient for the phone by itself. We cannot presume that any estimations on new usage will be accurate either.
Users should always be aware of the reality that revolves around data usage and the devices that consume them. Its no different than installing a 2nd waterline/hose on your house. Sure the hose will be fine if you remember to turn it off when you are done, but no one is going to stop you from letting it run all night if you forget.

Yes, I have installed every update. The only thing the autoupdate feature is complaining about is the (broken?) firmware update, Feb. 05. But the rest of the list is clear.
The Device Control problem appeared right after the installation, but after a couple of reboots the popup box disappeared, at least when I'm accessing the Device Control from the Control Panel. I haven't tried yet, so I cannot tell if the error box will appear from within the Mediasource Go application.

Is there any way to have unique setup for each Application in a single CSF

Hello all,
I am finding that i need more control with CSF files than just syncronising a generic setting that was made in one application...
For example, for the same workflow, I need to have different policies in different applications such as:
"Preserve CMYK" in Photoshop to correctly honor profiles in the images etc,
"CMYK off" in indesign to properly preserve the Separation for my output style.
Is there any way that i can make one CSF file that works differently on each application?

I'm not a ID power useful. I do own and use it ocassionally but I'm linking all the documents. That said, if I want say ProPhoto RGB to be the preferred RGB working space and I open a doc in sRGB, is that a problem in ID? Converting to ProPhoto in this case is senseless. Just leave the document in sRGB. Upon output, multiple images in differing color spaces should (should) be OK upon conversion to an output color space. Does ID have to have all images in the same color space to print?
This is probably more evident when looking at a CMYK workflow. Although indesign will let you export PDF's with multiple different embedded profiles, I try to avoid this as it tends to result in issues like illustrator graphics that contain black objects which separate into 4 colour and cause potential registration issues on press etc...
I am trying to remove all CMYK profiles and then asign an output intent by creating a PDFX file but so far the only way to consistently & reliabaly do it appears to be to set the CMYK policy to off in indesign...
IMO a print ready PDF should only have one profile which describes the printing propcess that will be used to for the file.

Is there any way to have more than 200 messages in your inbox?

My iPhone 3gs only allows 200 messages in my inbox per email account. On the contrary, my girlfriends blackberry will hold 1500+ emails.
Does anyone know how to change the settings to allow more messages to be kept in the inbox or if the new iPhone 4 will allow more messages to be kept in the inbox?

What you see in regards to the Show Recent Messages settings is the only thing available.
If a mailbox has more than 200 messages and you want to view more than the 200 most recent messages in the mailbox, there is a load more messages selection at the bottom of the mailbox or below the 200th most recent message.
Don't know if iOS4 will have different options available for the show most recent messages setting for a mailbox. iOS4 for existing 3G and 3GS iPhone will be released on 6/21. iPhone 4 will have iOS4 pre-installed.

Is the 'helena beat' logic file available for download or purchase to existing logic pro customers?

I have logic pro however I did not purchase the app store version. The app store version features a demo by foster the people called 'helena beat'. I am very eager to see this demo however it was not included with the previous version of logic pro 9. Is there a download/purchase available for this demo and if not will there be plans in the future to release the demo to the pre-app store logic pro/studio users?? An in-app purchase for existing logic pro users would be fantastic!

It's not available as a seperate download or purchase, but you could always go to your closest Apple store and ask if you can copy it to a flash drive. From my experience, the app store version of Logic is usually installed on some of their machines. Just ask a rep if you can copy it. Worst they could say is no.

Is there a way to have all styling for objects written to a standalone CSS file?

I’m currently working on converting a bunch of Flash diagrams to mobile-friendly HTML with Edge Animate and would like to be able to tweak the styling of all of them with a single master CSS file.
While I know it’s possible to overwrite Animate’s inline styles by including external CSS files and using the !important declaration, it would be incredibly handy for use cases like mine to be able to have Animate not use any inline styling and instead save all styling to an external CSS file whose path is referenced clearly in the code snippets that we already have to add to our HTML in order to include the Edge animation files, so the path to the CSS can be quickly and easily changed when moving from test to deployment, etc.
Any chance of this option being added?

I wish it did utilize a.css as opposed to inline as well.

Is there a way of renaming files AS you download them (as in IE where you type the name into the dialog box as you save)?

I save batches of records from an info source and need to give them memorable names as I download them, so that I can find the correct record again easily. Currently the system just calls them, e.g. wrlb, wrlb[2], wrlb[3]. When I used IE, I could type a filename into the dialog box as I saved, but Firefox doesn't seem to have any option to rename. Can anyone point me to a solution?

Is there a way to have an AppleID for an end-user without credit card info attached to it?

I am in charge of managing the Macs in our department. We have purchased a volume license for Mountain Lion (can't jump to Mavericks yet until we upgrade other software). I have a code to redeem, but the end-user is supposed to have an AppleID. I went ahead and started creating one for her, but it asks for credit card information, and corporate does not wish to have this information attached to an end-user's ID - they just want to supply it at the time of purchase for any future purchases (fear of identity theft and/or unauthorized purchases, I guess).
Our Mountain Lion software is already purchased, so Apple shouldn't need the credit card info for us to be able to install it. I can't install Adobe's Creative Cloud software until she's at least up to Mountain Lion … I feel I am hitting a major roadblock here! Any suggestions? Is this a new requirement? My own AppleID (for work) that I've had for awhile has no credit card currently attached to it … must not have been required at the time.

Is there full installer file available for version 9.4.6

Hi,
Anyone know if there is a full installer file available for Acrobat Pro 9.4.6? I know the product is EOL later this year but we still have users accessing this version prior to upgrading to version 11.
The problem is the last full installer we have 9.0 and then you have to run each patch to patch to 9.4.6 (17 patches) as you can imagine this is causing us some issues.

No, there is no full installer for Acrobat 9.4.6. You can either create an Admin Install Point or Bootstrapper to directly install the Acrobat 9.4.6 version.

Yes, you can make shared files available for download. You can also allow or disallow comments on the shared file. To set these options, do the following:
Open the file that you want to share on Creative Cloud.
Click Share Options on the right side of the window.
Select the share options that you want: Allow Comments, Allow Downloads, or both.

I bought Logic Pro 9, January this year, and saw that the song Helena Beat by Foster the People included as a demo project.
I wonder if there are any other demo projects available for download somewhere? Helena Beat isn't exactly the kind of music I am composing, so it would be great if there were any other genres available somewhere.
