Is there a way to have sounds play in the BT headset and the iPhone?

This was brought up some time ago and the thread was closed unsolved. This is still an issue that needs to be resolved. All phone sounds except for ring only go through my bluetooth headset when it is connected. Phone sounds need to output from the phone when bluetooth is attached. My headset doesn't stay in my ear when I'm not using it so when I get a text I cant hear it. The suggested work around of ending the call from the phone or switching to phone after each call and then having to switch back to headset from the phone before answering from the headset are not solutions.

I would also like this issue addressed.
I am using a Plantronics Voyager Pro+ and when it is connected to my iPhone 4, email and text sounds are not audible through the phone. The phone just vibrates when a new text or email is received.
I don't really care if it plays through the headset, but it should at least play through the phone. I tested the headset from a BlackBerry and the alerts play fine.

I'm sure it's been posted previously, but anyway, I'm looking to buy new Apple Loops libraries and I have faced the fact , that many of the sounds and loops produced by third parties manufacturers have been already included in Logic installation discs.
I have a list of Apple Loops DVD's that have been included with Logic somewhere, the problem is, Apple didn't post ( I believe) the credits of all 3rd party manufacturers that have produced these libraries that are included with Logic or Garage band. Is there any way to have a COMPLETE list of all samples and loops that are included with Apple DAW's so I wouldn't duplicate anything ? I'm pretty much positive that Apple had other companies to sound design and sample all libraries for them, so is there also a way to have a list of those manufacturers? Again, the objection is to start upgrading the sound library without any possible duplication?

Chris, I certainly don't mind additional questions and postings.
I believe there are many issues with Apple Loops and Logic that need to be resolved and people need to be aware of that. Unfortunately, in opposite to the old "german" version of Logic , there's no lifetime tech support, you can't even call and ask the question after 60 days , which isn't right for a professional software of this level, especially considering the fact that many things still remain vague in Logic even for developers and tech support people!( believe me, I've called and asked!)
Issues like that need to be resolved over the phone with the company, period!
One thing I also learned over the years as a Mac OSX user, if something doesn't work, don't mess with it. Delete your drive and re-install everything. This is very frustrating , I know, but unfortunately this is the only way to deal with OSX issues, if you got a problem with your system, don't try to fix it. It's never gonna be the same again. I know , it's off the topic a little bit, but if your content is missing from the system files, before installing your new Logic, back up your important files, wipe up your drive and clean install Mac OSX , run updates and then install the Logic. Most likely , everything will be in it's place, at least 90% or more. I gave up trying to make two system in my house to be compatible 100% , but it's OK if they're 90% or more identical. I spent enormous amount of time trying to find out what's missing and where, I visited most of the forums and there's no clean answer.

Why does my 7.0 iDVD theme not have sound playing in the menu? When I click to get menu info, the "TravelAudio" audio is listed, but it won't play. The volume is not the issue, it just isn't there.

This is so horribly frustrating! If you just hit "Reply" and start typing, your new reply starts right at the end of the original message, without even a carriage return. It's the exact opposite of how MobileMe -- and most other mail apps -- work.
Can we either:
Move the cursor position in replied messages back to the top, as it was before; or
Add the option in Preferences to determine where you'd like your cursor to appear when you reply to messages

Is there a way to have hardware acceleration without the text font change? I remember there was a way to go into settings before and getting hardware acceleration to work without the font change. Unfortunately I lost ALL my previous setting when uninstalling the beta ver Nightly and clicking delete settings :(.
Also, I fixed a problem before where firefox was visually eye straining to me, I think it was some settings in anti-alias tuner, but I cant seem to find the right settings that puts less strain on my eyes, anyone know? Thanks ahead. Currently using FF7.

Sure-glad to help you. You will not lose any data by changing synching to MacBook Pro from imac. You have set up Time Machine, right? that's how you'd do your backup, so I was told, and how I do my backup on my mac. You should be able to set a password for it. Save it. Your stuff should be saved there. So if you want to make your MacBook Pro your primary computer, I suppose, back up your stuff with Time machine, turn off Time machine on the iMac, turn it on on the new MacBook Pro, select the hard drive in your Time Capsule, enter your password, and do a backup from there. It might work, and it might take a while, but it should go. As for clogging the hard drive, I can't say. Depends how much stuff you have, and the hard drive's capacity. As for moving syncing from your iMac to your macbook pro, should be the same. Your phone uses iTunes to sync and so that data should be in the cloud. You can move your iTunes Library to your new Macbook pro

don't forget to de-authorize your iMac if you don't want to play purchased stuff there
and re-authorize your new macBook Pro
time machine is an application, and should be found in the Applications folder. it is built in to OS X, so there is nothing else to buy. double click on it, get it going, choose the Hard drive in your Time capsule/Airport as your backup Time Machine and go for it. You should see a circle with an arrow on the top right hand of your screen (the Desktop), next to the bluetooth icon, and just after the wifi and eject key (looks sorta like a clock face). This will do automatic backups of your stuff.

The iPhoto for iOS seems to be aimed at working on photos then sharing them to social media sites or to iCloud for sharing there. iPhoto for iOS does not perform many of the organizing tasks that iPhoto on your Mac does. We're using iTunes to play backing tracks in a show. We are using a vpedal through the USB for play and pause. We would like to be able to hit the pedal to play the first track and then have it stop ( NOT automatically play the second track). Then we could just hit the pedal to play each subsequent track. Michael - thank you so much for your effort to help me with this question. I have tried what you have suggested and it does exactly what you say it will do but does not solve the issue. Let me explain what needs to happen a little better: The playlist of backing tracks has 4 songs. The Vpedal is a third party programable device that will activate play/pause in iTunes. I will have no access (nor will anyone else) to the computer while I am in character during this part of the performance. I introduce the piece and step on the vpedal and the first song plays. If I don't hit it again, each subsequent track will play automatically - this is bad because applause, etc. makes the time between songs variable. So, currently I have to step on the pedal at the end of song #1 to pause it and then when ready for song #2 step on it again to play. The same process for end of song #2 (pause), start of song #3 (play), end of song #3 (pause) and start of song #4 (play). This works but the problem with it is I must be very precise when to pause - wait a second too late and then next song will begin. So, it would be far preferable if iTunes only needed me to press the pedal to play and the program would pause automatically at the end of each song but be ready to play the next song when I hit the pedal. Hope this makes it clearer.

It is possible to remove passwords from their accounts; so that they are not needed to log in.
A passwordless admin account is a very bad idea. So if either of them are using admin accounts now (which they shouldn't be anyway), have them create a third account, make it admin, and then remove admin privileges and passwords from their own two user accounts. Keep a password on the admin account.

Is there a way to have multiple pass codes on a singe iPad or iPhone?

I would like to have multiple pass codes on my iPad2s. I need a separate pass code for the 'Reset" functions. I want to use one pass code for when the iPad is "booted' or woken up then a different passcode for when the "Reset" funtions are accessed. Is there any way to do this? During my testing I have not seen away to have different pass codes for the different functions.
i am using the iPhine configeraor but have not havd any luck setting up diferent pass ciodes when restrictions is runed on.
What I would really like is to completely disbalte the "Reset" function from within iPhone onfigurator.

Sorry but no, that's not possible, at least not with the current version of iOS. You can have a different passcode for the screen lock and for the Restrictions, but that's all, and the Reset functions cannot be restricted.

Is there a way to have a Chicken of the vnc type GUI over internet in ARD3?

Hello, to whoever reads this question, thanks in advance if you can help.
My need is this. I regularly use Chicken of the VNC for multiple administration over the internet, but what I like is the possibility to have same IP but Multiple clients with fixed IP (local) behind Firewall, i.e. x.x.x.x:5910 x.x.x.x:5920, x.x.x.x:5930, etc. and i can connect at the same time to the different machines to admin them.
Question: Is there any possibility to have the multiple connections with ARD 3 or even ARD 2 over the internet with same IP?
At one point ARD 3 did work for me like that for about an hour and then it stopped, blocking out 2 of 3 machines in the same IP. I mean, it acutally let me have 2 windows open on the same IP with different ports over internet and was flabbergasted, but then it stopped! when I quitted and restarted, I could do it no more…
I really like ARD, but if I got to manually change the port everytime I log in… yikes…!! I admin 20 machines in 10 different locations, so everytime i gotta log in to machine 'a' then change ports to machine 'b' for 10 locations everyday… well I hope you get the idea.

I, too, was a bit bummed out by the lack of this feature. I wondered if ARD 3 had some sort of mode Apple themselves used "silently".
There IS a way to make it work, however -- via VPN. I discovered that once I used VPN into my company's intranet, ARD 3's scanner could see EVERY Mac in the company.
Setting up a VPN nowadays is pretty simple -- many routers handle the support for you. OS X's Internet Connect feature makes it trivial to connect to the VPN, once it is properly set up from the inside of the company.

Is there a way to have applications run in the background after I log out?

New to Mavericks, have a new iMac after being on Leopard for years. After I log out, all the applications I had running stop and close. Is there a way to keep those running? It seems like logging out, and the applications stopping, would negate the ability to see any notifications on the lock screen. I have multiple users set up on this computer, is that the reason?

By definition, logging out means quitting all your processes. If you want to log in as a different user without logging out, see below.
