Is there a way to keep the Brush HUD up as I move from image to image?

I did a large set of portraits and would like to keep the Brush HUD up as I move from image to image making edits.
Being able to do this would save a little time and make the edits a little faster.

Not that I've found. Some brush HUDs stay "up" when a different image is selected (crop, retouch), but most do not.
I suggest assigning easy shortcuts to any of the Quick Brushes you use regularly, and launching them from the keyboard.
This is also an instance where a multi-button programable mouse could pay for itself. Assign those shortcuts to some of the mouse buttons. (I use and recommend the Razer Naga; surely there are others, and newer ones. The increased resolution alone is worth the price -- but all that is off topic.)

Is there a way to count the number of times an array moves from positive to negative?

I have an array of values, and I need to find the number of times that the array changes signs (from positive to negative, or vice versa). In other words from a graphical standpoint, how many times a certain line crosses the x-axis. Counting the number of times the array equals zero does not help however, because the array does not always equal exactly zero when it crosses the axis (ie, the points could move from .1 to -.1).

Attached is a VI showing the # of Pos and Neg numbers in an array, with 0 considered as non-Pos. It is easily modifiable to other parameters - including using the X-axis value as your compare point versus only Zero.
This is a modified VI from LV (Separate Array.vi)

Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

You can go to Settings/iCloud and delete the account, then create a new iCloud account. You can still use the same account for the app store though.

I know I am responding to my own thread, but I an SOOOO disgusted with Apple right now.
The new iOS 7 was the lead story on CNN today... and it wasn't positive. Easy to see why, it's a graphics disaster. It is ugly, difficult to read, doesn't interface aesthetically with the iPhone 4S, and gives everyone in America vertigo. Either fix the appearance, or find some way to allow us to roll back to our previous iOS. Do so quickly, or this life-long Apple customer [circa 1978] will be moving on. If this represents shades of what is coming with OS Maverick, I am petrified. Further, I am a GM of a chain of newspapers and websites in the Austin, Texas area. I will be ripping out a scathing editorial. The notion that we can't roll back from something millions of us hate is despicable. I'm giving you one week. Be sure I am not alone.

Is there a way to keep the ADL open when testing CS5.5 Air apps after it loses focus?

When I test Air applications (specifically targeting mobile) it seems that when the ADL (Air Debug Launcher) launches, it will automatically terminate the session when I click on anything else other than the ADL window. I have been trying to use 3rd party application debuggers that provide improved memory diagnostics, but these debuggers only seem to be able to work when the application is launched through the Flash Player and not through the ADL. Unfortunately, the Air specific code will only work in the ADL. Is there some way to keep the ADL running even when it loses focus? I have tried using the ADL from the Flash CS5.5 IDE as well as from the command line and both will terminate upon losing focus.

This is something I've been wondering. I am a bit like you, I like being able to have a glance at emails or Facebook updates without having to log in, and I think it would be great to be able to turn off the notification switching the screen on, especially for emails as I do get a lot, and Facebook, but I somehow doubt it is possible.
I am currently monitoring how much this eats up my battery charge. On a normal day, after an overnight charge, I would probably still have 30%-40% left when I leave work in the evening. Today, I was down to 48% by lunchtime, where I've usually got a good 60-70% left... Might have to turn email notifications off on lock screen until it's possible to have them appearing in the list without flashing me...

My new laptop has great features but a smaller screen. Changing the resolution makes everything look awful. Using Ctrl/plus to increase the page size in Firefox solves the problem, but you lose the new setting when you go to a different page. No - just don't upgrade until Google release there maps app. I wish I could go back to yesterday and give myself this advice.

Is there a way to keep the search bar from unfolding downward?

I just updated to FF 34 and see that when I start to type something into the search bar it now unfolds downward, taking up about seven lines worth of space -- even though I have search suggestions disabled. The problem with this is that the unfolding covers up part of the urls, tab and top-of-webpage text that I sometimes reference (or even copy-n-paste) to guide my search-term selection. I usually use only my default search engine, so the disadvantages of this "obscuring" definitely outweigh any advantages from being able to more easily select an alternate search engine on-the-fly. In fact, one reason I used the search bar to begin with is to *avoid* the kind of unfolding behavior search engine pages often have. But it's actually more intrusive here, because it is covering up more pertinent text. Is there any way to keep this "unfolding" behavior from happening automatically when using the search bar in FF 34? Thanks
