Is there a way to look in the sys drive and tell what L8 uses, and doesn't?

I loaded Logic Studio entirely onto my system drive ( 80 gig) - I thought I had to. The rest (3rd party plugs/sounds, exs samples, etc.), are on other drives.
Anyway, space is too tight on my system drive. When I installed LogicStudio I tried to get rid of stuff that I knew would be duplicated and therefore redundant, but some are still there.
My question is, is there a way to look at the contents of the drive and tell what is currently part of L8 and what is unnecessary or redundant? I don't know what to throw out, and something's got to go!
Id like to avoid a complete reinstall - and even if I did that, I'd still have to figure out what to throw away, and wouldn't be sure.
Thanks.

I just checked this, and I'm confused. There is 4.5 gig in the app support/logic folder and 12 gig in the garageband folder.
But in the library/app support/audio/appleloops folder there is also almost 29 gig of sounds. This would be essential too, I assume.
So I have almost 7 gig of sounds in my user/library/audio/appleloops. Since I don't have any custom apple loops, can I be confident that these are now redundant? Opinions appreciated.
Thanks in advance... I just don't understand this part of things!

I agree with you, many things in the ios 6.x were more elegant. The reader was the most one of them. I think the ios7 wants to be the windows 8.

  • When I upload any photos from iphoto or a folder it overwrites all the existing photos. is there a way to add to the existing library without deleting what's already in the library?

When I upload photos from iphoto or any other folder it overwrites all the existing photos in my ipad. is there a way to add to the existing library without deleting what's already in the library?

No, apart from using the emailing them, to yourself or using a third-party app such as Simple Transfer (in which case the photos will only go into the Saved Photos/Camera Roll album) or the camera connection kit (Imported album). You need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad in one go, as only the contents of the most recent sync remains on the iPad - not including photos in a sync is how you delete them from the iPad

  • HT203167 I have just installed itunes on my new comp. and searched for mp3 on the hard drive but it has not found all of them. There are 2000+ missing, is there any way to re-search the hard drive?

Is there any way to re-search my hard drive for mp3s which have been missed on the initial search?

If you've just moved the drive between systems then see Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows just in case that reveals the missing files. Apply to a single album folder first as a test. Otherwise, if you've not done too much with the drive since things went missing, an undelete tool might recover the lost media. FreeRecover looks promising... Select the drive, use the options to get file paths and check file integrity, then, presumably, you can restore anything that has been deleted that looks recoverable. Backup to another drive when you're done.

  • I'm getting harrassed by another Ipod touch user, however I do not know who it is. Is there a way to look up the number of who is harrassing me?

My friend has been recieving lewd texts from someone posing as me with an Ipod Touch. I do in fact have an Ipod touch, however, it's not even a few weeks old and I do not have an interenet connection on it so therefore I cannot get the texting application. I would just like to know if there is a way I can look up the phone number I have from said person, and see who it is so I could possibly block them and prove to my friend that is in fact not me. I have looked it up on google on phone reverse websites, but it comes up as a marked land line number, so it must be an Ipod number.
    Thank you,
    Sadie.

Actually, there are at least a couple free texting apps for the iPod Touch...  my son has one of them.  Whether they support MMS, I don't know, but sounds like they might.
In any case, though, you're right that it's not going to be directly traceable.  However, the phone company and the creator of whichever texting app is being used might be able to help track down the IP address of the sender.  And then you'd have to trace the IP to the individual, which would require cooperation of the ISP.  It won't be easy to do.  Since what the texter is doing is illegal, it might be best to report this incident to the police, who will have the authority to investigate.

  • HT4623 My software was updated and I thought my content was backed up in the cloud.  My contacts are intact but my calendar is gone.  Is there a way I can access the calendar?  And I dislike the format of the calendar.  Can I change the format of the cale

Software update wiped my calendar.  My contacts were OK.  Is there some way to access the calendar?  Also the calendar format is different and I do not like it.  Is there some way to go back to the prior format?

You have posted in the iphone forum.
Try posting in the ipod touch forum.
You should always import all photos taken with ipod before any update.  You should import them regularly as you would with any digital camera.
You should transfer your itunes purchases to your computer.
The backup that itunes performs does not include any itunes content.

  • Is there a way to check if the touch screen and display works whilst iPod is apart?

    Hi,
I pulled my iPod Touch 4G apart up to the circuit board in order to pull out the headphone socket.
Before I pulled it apart, the screen was cracked but everything was perfectly visible and the touch function worked perfectly.
Because the screen was cracked, when I pulled the iPod apart, I obviously lost small chunks of the screen.
Now when I plug the two plugs from the LCD screen into the circuit board and put the iPod together without screws, it looks like this:
    http://s251.photobucket.com/user/matt9210/media/2013-06-19014523_zps86e6bc6e.jpg .html
So I'm not sure whether buying a new screen is the answer, because I'm worried it will still have the same effect on the new screen.
Another question: The headphone socket wasn't working. I had to hold the earphones in order to get any sound, and knocking them would lose the sound. I checked with other earphones before opening the iPod, so it's a problem with the iPod. What do I do with the headphone socket to avoid this problem?
Also, is this good enough to replace the iPod screen? A lot cheaper than I thought, thought I'd check what the catch is.

  • I have been using firefox since the beginning on my Mac G-5 until today when I was asked to upgrade my browser I did so and now I can't geet firefox as my browser anymore. I s there a way to reset to the old version? I really enjoyed using Firefox.

I can no longer get Firefox to work on my Mac G5 computer since I excepted the last suggested upgrade today. Now it says that it is not supported by this computer. I would like to know where to go to get the older version that I had been using 9.0.1 is not working for me.

Beginning with Firefox 4, Macs must have an Intel x86 processor ('''''yours is a PPC Mac''''') '''''<u>and</u>''''' OSX 10.5 or higher ('''''which you do not have''''').

  • I keep receiving this error3259 message when i try to update my ipad 2 . is there some way i can download the ios 4.3.5 update besides using itunes??

network connection error keeps coming up but i can download from safari just fine.

What version shows in Settings > General > About > Version ? If that doesn't show 5.0.1 then see if you can update to it via the following.
To update to iOS 5.0.1 you need iTunes 10.5 on your computer. When you've got iTunes 10.5 installed then connect your iPad to it and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. You should also backup the device (right-click the iPad 'device' and select 'back up'), and copy off any important documents, file, notes etc (e.g. by email, the file sharing section at the bottom of the Apps tab in iTunes, wifi, whatever the apps that you use support) - the update process should backup and restore the content but it's best to be safe.
If iTunes doesn't prompt you to update to iOS 5.0.1 on your iPad, then with your iPad connected to and selected on the left-hand side of it, then on the Summary tab on the right-hand side click the Check For Updates button.

  • There is more data storage on the hard drive and I can not find it (should be deleted)

Hi I need some help, i recently bought a Macbook Pro, so good with that but when storing my files I realized I had sent more files, I deleted my files and it took me hours! and when checking the status of storage I realized I had more 20GB hard drive and I can not find that data stored anywhere! and i made the securely empty.
P.S. I had a small problem when cleaned the trash, I stopped for lack of time but when i stop it, I realized I had nothing inside then... (should leave something at least, because it was an incomplete process.)
(here says that i have 40.54 GB from other stuff, and i'm just using like 13Gb of my data) its in spanish by the way... sorry for that.
    Thanks for your patience!

Other (Otros) is everything but Applications according to your chart. That includes operating system and files.

  • Is there a way to verify that the dvd drive is acting up?

I think my dvd drive is on the fritz, but I'd like to somehow verify that before I take it into an apple store (it's still under apple care).
Not too long ago I noticed that when I ripped cds with the drive, then there would be some cracks and pops during the quiet parts of the resulting mp3s. (well, at least it was more noticeable during the quiet parts.) I would not encounter this problem when I then ripped the same cds with an external drive.
dvds play fine, but when I attempt to burn dvds (using Toast), I often get a "bad sector" error during the verification step. And then when I try to watch the dvd it will play for a little bit but then pause (although I can sometimes jump ahead and have it play fine).
The drive is the UJ-845E one.
Is there diagnostic thing that I can run that will say "hey dude, your dvd drive has this problem: ..."?

You will find that more often than not the problem is simply the use of Bad Cheap Incompatible Media.
There are 2 handfulls of media manufactures out there and of them only 2 or 3 are what I consider Excellent. The rest are JUNK.
    http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
If your Optical Media will play CD's and DVD's Commercial Music, and Commercial Movies.
And will burn then 9 times out of 10 the problem like you describe is from Bad Media you are using.
I find that using Maxell 16X DVD-R media that comes in the individual jewel cases are outstanding.
Reason this media 1st is DVD-R and is recognizable by 93 to 94% of all players and computers.
2nd it is rated as one of those of highest quality.
3rd This media will burn at 1X, 2X, 4X, 8X, 16X, meaning you don't have to look for older media that matches your or other slower Burners. It will simply work.
Next with the technology always changing be sure you have Toast 7 or higher to avoid problems, I personally prefer Popcorn.
There is a lot to learn and many tricks to learn as well to avoid problems with your burn.
You have just learned the most important.

  • During diction, is there any way to differentiate between the number "2" and the word "to ?

    :

Well, what you have just been witness to is the lack of A.I.  Without AI, a computer cannot properly comprehend certain convesational criteria.
Humans and other animals do not take actions or words at basic face value.  They apply learned data from past experiences to better match the context of the actions or words presented to them.  Once their brain settles on a % of correctness, it spits out a response value for it.  Computers don't currently do that... at least not yet and those that have wannabe AI logic on them still have a hard time making the right decision.  For the most part, they go with face value based on programmed parameters that are always applied the same way.
It's like the thermostat in your house.  It's been told that if it's below a certain temp it needs to kick the heater in, if it's above a certain temp, it needs to kick in the AC.  But, if the temp is below a certain value and you just happen to have a sweater on which is keeping you warm, the termostat won't know that it's OK for it not to turn the heat on to warm you up.  It's a crude example, but you get the idea.

  • What is the easiest way to access information on my iMac when on my Air? Is there a way to connect to the whole computer, and not just the public folder?

When I'm working on my laptop downstairs (or at a local coffeeshop, or when traveling), I'd love to be able to grab files that are on my iMac back home. (without relying on using Dropbox or similar...)

  • Toshiba Qosmio x770 - there is no SATA connector in the 2nd drive bay.

I called Toshiba tech support and spoke with shekinah in the phillipines about this issue.  She told me the same thing 5 times over and over in the span of the 2 hour call. I asked to talk to her supervisor or the "lead tech" she kept talking about.  She flat out refused.  She kept telling me that I just need to plug in a 2nd hard drive.  I explained again that this is impossible as there is no cable of any kind or an sata connector.  With the x505 version you needed to purchase a seperate 2nd hard drive cage but the sata connector was there. There is a picture attached that shows what I mean.  I looks like the part is a tiny laptop ribbon cable that would connect above the primary hard drive and then terminate at an sata connector that you screw down right before the primary hard drive.  Looks like there might be some sort of hard drive cage required for it too.
Is there a way to purchase just the ribbon cable and sata adapter so I can add my own 2nd hard drive???
I would be willing to buy a 2nd hard drive with an included cable/sata adapter if it's not insanley expensive.  I would obviously rather not do this.
There is no email that I can find for toshiba tech support and the phillipens call center is not worth calling.

Go to "Toshiba Forums" and scroll down to "Satellite Laptops::all others" open it and find the "Subject", "Second internal Hard drive P775----" with 1040+ Views (Note there are two listings on this subject). It should make for interesting reading.
