Is there a way to make Firefox stop asking me if I want to bookmark a website?

When I'm playing Gardens of Time on Playdom's website, Firefox periodically asks me if I want to bookmark it. This sometimes happens in the middle of critical plays I need to made & I want to know if there is a way to turn off the automatic reminders? If so, how do I turn it off? Tried to look up in Help, but couldn't find what I was looking for. Thanks.

Iphone 4S newly updated to iOS8, keeps popping up window notifying me of things I turned off (cell usage, location, etc) to preserve battery life. Is there any way to make them stop telling me every time I use the affected apps?

I have finally taken the step of updating my iPhone 4S to iOS8 after learning the hard way last update to wait for the bugs to be worked out. I was horrified to find that the battery was being sucked dry in no time at all. After finding a great article posted elsewhere on the apple forums, I went through and turned off all unnecessary options involving the use of cell data, location services and background refreshing. My battery life has thankfully returned to what it was before the update.
HOWEVER, now, every time I open an app for which I turned these things off, the window informing me of that pops up.   I am getting really irritated by this as I made all of these decisions deliberately and am well aware that I may need to go back and change them in order to activate certain capabilities when I want to use them. I had done the same thing with the last iOS, but there were far fewer that needed to be turned off and the battery life seemed to be less affected by those that I left on so it was not the annoyance it has become now.
Is there any way to make the phone stop presenting me with these idiot messages?   TIA

Is there a way to make Firefox version 20 developer toolbar behave in the same fashion as version 19.

Version 20 places all of developer toolbar components together which is kinda of a killer. Before you could just have the style viewer open on the side with only having a small toolbar at the bottom. Or work with HTML by pressing a single button.
Is there a way to make it behave like it use to without me going back a version. Or a way to just open the style viewer on the side without anything else.

The new version is hopeless - which is a pity because this feature is just about the only reason I stick with FireFox as a developer. Previously I could hit Ctrl-shift-I to bring up the nice site panel, which often with wide-screen monitors is dead-space. The HTML panel wasn't shown by default and I seldomly needed it. I could hit ESC to get rid of it.
NOW - the ESC key does nothing so I have to move my hand back to my mouse and click on the 'x' button to get rid of the panel. I can't get rid of the HTML part and the pane takes up the whole of the lower part of my screen which is NOT dead space.
In the truncated CSS panel at the bottom of the page I can only see the first couple of styles - often I want to see further down the list so I just about always have to scroll.
NO: opening in a separate window is NOT a solution!
If you're going to change the layout without first doing some research on how people use a tool then please make sure you have the option in the first few releases to go back to the old layout - just in case, on the off chance, what you're doing is really really silly!

In full screen mode (with "Hide Toolbars" selected), is there a way to make FF stop bumping the page up and down everytime I move the mouse to the top of the screen to reveal/hide the toolbar?

In other words, is there a way to make FF behave like IE9 in full screen mode where the toolbar appears "over" the page rather than pushing the page down?

HT4085 A particular game app always mutes playback of my music/podcasts even though I have the game sounds muted. Is there any way to make it stop?

The game has sound controls in its options and I have turned all the sounds off, but it still mutes playback of my music/podcasts whenever I go into the game. Is there any way to stop it? other games I play do not do this.

How can I get my G5 OSX 10.5.8 to quit trying to handle my mail? I have yahoo and when im on a site the computer wont ley me contact them unless i sign up for mail plus which you have to pay for. Is there a way to make it stop?

when I'm on a web site and I need to contact them the Mac wont let me do it. I have Yahoo mail but It wants me to sign up for yahoo's mail plus account which cost money so it can communicate with them. I dont want mail plus and I dont want to have to use different mail then my yahoo account. The only way with what you desire & have is to Right click or Control+click on the eMail link on the site, choose Copy Email Address, open Yahoo Mail in your Browser, New Message, then Paste in the To: bar.
WebMail is a real pain, Yahoo is a pain... are you sure you wouldn't like to modernize & streamline things with a new free POP or IMAP accont like HotMail/Live.com, or GMail?

Is there a way to make firefox open hyperlinks to local files?

My company has a custom developed ticketing system and of course its developed for IE but none of the engineers like IE. We all use and want to continue using Firefox. One of the sections in the ticketing system has a spot for links to local files on a shared drive. I have created the link and it points to a word document. That hyperlink works fine in IE but it does nothing when clicked in Firefox.
Of course the dev team is giving me the age old line ".NET doesn't play nice with Firefox... developed for IE.... blah blah use IE."
Surely creating a link to a local file like excel or word or even a directory is simple idea and should be accomplished somehow with FireFox right? Can anyone shed some light on this and give a suggestion how to make this work?

I think there are two aspects to this:
(1) URL format
If you navigate to that file using the browser's Open File dialog (Ctrl+O), you can get the workable link format for it. For example, the separators will be forward slashes instead of backslashes.
(2) Local file security
Firefox limits access from pages on web servers to pages on local disk or UNC paths. In Windows 7, is there a way to make Firefox one program in the taskbar, instead of having each tab listed as a seperate program?

In 3.6, when you clicked on the Firefox icon in the Windows taskbar, you'd be switched to Firefox. Now, in 4.0b, when you click the logo, it displays the tabs you have open and you have to choose on to return to Firefox. It slows down switching between windows. HT4623 After I updated my iPad using my computer, it has started to lag a lot and run very slowly. Why is it doing this and is there any way to make it stop lagging?

I updated my iPad mini last night using my laptop (I usually update it on the iPad itself) and after the update, the iPad has been slow and laggy ever since. When I try to type something, it freezes up and may not actually show that i typed it for another minute or two. Even if I close all my apps and restart it, the problem is still there. Does anybody know what's going on and/or how to solve this problem?

I just have a hard time comprehending why they don't handle file structure sorting.
It's not a difficult thing to understand. It is, in fact, a computing science +industry standard+, deviations from it are the +unusual and esoteric+, not something I'd expect from one of the industry's giants - certainly not a mandatory deviation.
It seems like it's a decision that only serves to frustrate people. I can understand why they would want a metadata sorting mode; I can even see making that the default setting... I'm just kind of flabberghasted at the uninclusion of an alternative file sorting method for those of us who trust our own devices better than metadata that may be incorrect, missing, typographically flawed, or what-have-you. I can get to my own music just fine... On my PC. Why not my iPod? Why does the industry-leading mp3 player have to make it a frustrating and difficult chore to find the media I want to play?

However, after ending and later restarting Firefox 4, each tab starts with whatever page was displayed upon the previous close of Firefox. The splash screen shows before your app's code runs so there isn't any opportunity for the app code to modify or enhance it.

In Firefox 5 links with target="_blank" don't open in new window or tab. Is there a way to make them do that?

I've search some info about this and it seems like there's a lot of people that are annoyed by links opening in new window/tab and that the 'target="_blank"' is not valid in strict XHTML. I'm guessing this could be reasons why Firefox 5 ignores the 'target="_blank"'. But in some cases you really want to open a new widow, in my case I'm using a flash application and want to open links in new windows from there and then the ctrl-click doesn't work. When opening the link in the same page and then go back the application is reloaded and it's state is lost. Probably should try to find out if there's some other way to open links from a flash application, but I'm wondering if there's a way to make Firefox 5 open 'target="_blank"' links in new tabs.

I don't know how to delete my question, anyway I'm not having this problem anymore. In our organisation the IT department deploy Firefox updates with certain settings and limitations, in the tap-options the checkbox for opening new windows in new tabs where checked but disabled. They made some changes to make this checkbox enabled and now it works as expected if it's check new windows open i new tabs and if it's not in new windows. They never opens in the same tab as they did before.
