Is there a way to not display my name when I send text messages?

Is my name even sent when I send text messages? If so, is there a way to not display my name when I send text messages? When sending a text message, I would like to only display my phone number.

is it possible for the sender not to have my name in there contacts... and just typed my number?..
It is possible for the recipent not to have your name for your number in their address book for your contact info, but the recipent must do that.
So does that mean just my number will show when i send a text to the person using an android phone?

Have you ever received a text from a phone number that is not in your address book? If so, what do you see? You should see the phone number only. The same applies for someone you are sending a text to.

You need to link your iPhone number to Messages - and Facetime if you use it. For Messages go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessage at. If your phone number is showing there, select it as your Contact address. If it doesn't appear in there, take a look at the end of this article for help.

Does this system even have a search function? Also, is there a way to not show account name?

Ugh, I just downloaded this yesterday, so I'm only really starting to try it out today and wow, did they want to copy off of microsoft or something with the search function? First they get rid of "by file name" for the search, and then search itself doesn't even work! Or at least, it doesn't show the files as it finds them.
The problem is, am I doing something wrong? Or is search just incredibly slow?
And my second question is, is there any way to get rid of your name in the top right corner? That is really creepy, you should not have to have your name there. Is there any way to hide it or should anyone just be able to tell who you are because you don't want to change your account name?

Is there a way to automatically display the name of clips on screen?

As per the heading, I want to be able to display the name of all clips used on screen so that when it is output to a video file, the viewer can see the name of the clip they are viewing for easy reference. Is there a way to do this, or perhaps a plug in that does it?

Is there a way to make 3g and not wi-fi the priority for sending text messages to someone using an iOS5 device?

Here's the problem: I am often in a building which has free wifi but the wifi requires that you accept the terms of use during every browsing session. If I receive a text message from someone who is also using iOS5, the phone seems to default to wi-fi to send my response. If I have not yet accepted the terms of use for the building's wi-fi, my phone wont send the text message response. I don't know if that is because the phone is connected to a wifi signal albeit one that can't yet access the internet. For whatever reason, the phone is just trapped in a "sending messge" loop and wont break out of it until I open my browser and accept the terms of use. This is the situation notwithstanding the fact that I have 3g service and the signal is available to send sms/mms.
Can anyone offer a suggestion other than disabling wi-fi?

Thank you for your reply. I looked at my settings and the phone has been set on "send as SMS"--but for some reason, the phone is continuing to try to send it over wifi despite the lack of an internet connection on wifi. It would seem that after a minute or more of trying, the phone would recognize that wifi wasnt available and would send it on SMS but it apparently doesnt. I can, of course, turn off iMessage but I dont like the idea of having to do that everytime---particularly since an increasing number of my contacts are using iOS5 devices.

The phone records both each time. HDR looks better almost 100% of the time. Is there a way to default to only save one to the camera roll OR do I have to delete one each time?

With HDR, you can save both the normal-exposure version and the HDR version of a photo in the Camera Roll, or save just the HDR version. By default, both are saved.
Choose whether to save both the normal-exposure version and the HDR version of photos: In Settings, choose Photos, then turn Keep Normal Photo on or off. If the setting is turned off, only the HDR version of a photo is saved.

Is there a way to create a group alias that I can text/message?

Similar to an e-mail alias that contains multiple e-mail addresses which makes it easy to send one message to multiple people, I'd like to be able to create a group alias from some set of contacts in my Address Book that I can send a message (either text or iMessage if supported by the recipient) to. Does the iPhone 4 running iOS5 support this and if so, how do I go about using this feature?
Note, I'm not looking for a group chat function where people have run a particular app in order to join a group, I just want to be able to easily send a message to > 1 person and if they want to respond it's directly to me.

You can group your contacts, but you will not be able to send group messages natively. You need a 3rd party application for this. I have developped a free one, Easy Group, to create group of contacts (family, football team), and then send group texts and group emails.

In Mavericks (where you posted) > Messages App > Preferences > General Section you can set the Messages Received sound.
In Mavericks this is a sounds from the App or the System Alerts or Sounds from ~/Library/Sounds.
In Yosomite (what you say you have) you now have iOS sounds listed and these are Alerts or Ringtones on an iPhone.
Not since Mountain Lion have you been able to set specific sounds to specific actions or even specific Buddies.

Displaying Senders name when receiving a text mess...

Not sure if there is an app or a way of doing this - but can you download something for the N96 that when you get a text message come through, instead of it just saying "1 New Message" it'll say "1 New Message from x" where x is the senders name?
Just a little tweak really that'll be nice I suppose! Tried searching for a similar question on here, and there may well be one but I didn't get through all the pages...

I am not getting sound notifications when I receive text messages anymore. A few will come through, but I have the volume on high and I will look down and see I have missed messages even though the phone is in my pocket or purse. Is this common?

This is an iMessage, not a text message as in SMS/MMS via your cell phone carrier's network.
This means you have iMessage enabled on each device with the same Apple ID. This is by design and intention when using the same Apple ID on multiple Apple computers and iOS devices. I have iMessage enabled on my Mac, on my iPhone, and on my iPad with the same Apple ID and all my iMessages are kept synced between all three.

Anyways when I call somebody that I have in the contacts I don't get his/her name in the ballon, it only displays the number and not the name, same thing goes for incomming calls It just won't show the callers name and only shows the number for some reason, I tried re-adding the contacts, deleting them and writing them again but nothing works.

First in contacts -options-settings check you are using only one memory phone! Not sim or sim and phone memory (several ) Next you need to check you don't have multiple entries, that is to say a number with more than one name attached to it, could be John, John Smith, Smithy, johnnie all with 1234567 as number, but in fact the same person, but the phone doesn't know this so only shows the number, you must use contacts from Phone memory and only have one contact attached to a number for caller id to work (it is fine to have several contact number attached to one contact, but not the other way round), this is a common problem and is always multiple entries, suggest checking your contacts in Ovi Suite is the easiest way to check !

Only possible when you export through File--->Export--->PDF. If you directly click PDF icon, system will store with default format.
