Is there a way to open an iphoto 9 with a iphoto library that was saved in iphoto 11?

I recently reformatted my hard drive which had iPhoto 11 on it.  I backed up the iphoto library by copying it to an external hard drive.
I re installed Snow Leopard on my Macbook and do not want to re install iPhoto 11 or Mountain Lion as my Macbook struggles with lack of RAM.
I copied the iPhoto library to my Pictures folder but cannot open my library since it was upgraded in iPhoto 11.
Is there a way to roll the library back to allow it to open in iPhoto 9?
Thanks

Have a look at the paid version of
  iPhoto Library Manager
It promises to be able to downgrade your library - I have not tried it yet, so test with a trial library:

Is there a way to open two windows with address book on my computer?

Photoshop only has one Color Palette.  If you could script something  like a Color Palette with  two sets of active sliders the script would be in control till you dismissed its sliders dialog.  You would not be able to do anything but adjust the script's sliders in Photoshop while the script dialog window is being displayed.  Photoshop Scripting does not have real palette dialog type support.
I do not know what is possible with Photoshop extensions using HTML 5 Panels.....

  • Is there any way to open a file with a .msi extension on my new mac?

I have Camtasia from the pc I was using. It has a .msi file extension for the installation file. Is there any way to open the Camtasia installation file with the .msi extension on my new Mac?

That's a Microsoft program which requires Windows. You could run on your Mac if you install Windows on it.
    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows 7 or Windows 8.  Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
VM Fusion and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows.  The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.  It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. A more recent comparison of Parallels, VM Fusion, and Virtual Box is found at Virtualization Benchmarks- Parallels 10 vs. Fusion 7 vs. VirtualBox. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard and later. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.

  • Is there a way to open CSV files with more than 255 columns?

I have a CSV file with more than 255 columns of data.  It's a fairly standard export of social media data that shows volume of posts by day for the past year, from which I can analyze the data and publish customized charts. Very easy in Excel but I'm hitting the Numbers limit of 255 columns per table. Is there a way to work around the limitation? Perhaps splitting the CSV in two? The data shows up in the CSV file when I open via TextEdit, so it's there. Just can't access it in Numbers. And it's not very usable/useful for me in TextEdit.
    Regards,
    Tim

You might be better off with Excel. Even if you could find a way to easily split the CSV file into two tables, it would be two tables when you want only one.  You said you want to make charts from this data.  While a series on a chart can be constructed from data in two different tables, to do so takes a few extra steps for each series on the chart.
For a test to see if you want to proceed, make two small tables with data spanning the tables and make a chart from that data.  Make the chart the normal way using the data in the first table then repeat the following steps for each series
Select the series in the chart
    Go to Format sidebar
    Click in the "Value" box
Add a comma then select the data for this series from the second chart
    Press Return
If there is an easier way to do this, maybe someone else will chime in with that info.

  • Is there a way to backup the iphone without entering a passcode that was previously set?

I have a passcode on my iphone, which I recently dropped. Both the front and back screens are cracked severely. I can see when someone txts / calls, so the phone appears to be working, however it is not usable. I cannot access anything on the phone using the touch screen. The screen continues to shake as if there are multiple fingers trying to operate it at once.
Although it would be nice to get back into the phone, I would prefer being able to back it up just one more time. I sync frequently to icloud, but the last time I backed it up to my pc was 11/16/2011. I can access everything I've backed up(txts, images, etc via other applications), but I have some important correspendeces that took place between then and now that I would like to have.
Is there way for me to backup the phone without entering the passcode?  Also, I have read through some of the discussions, and pardon my ignorance but I wanted an unequivocal answer to this question:  If I restore the phone from the backup of 11/16, will I lose everything after that date? And, are there other alternatives?
I have tried some things which I thought would be clever ways to bypass this problem, but alas...here I am asking for help. I find it frustrating that I can sync to icloud (still) yet I cannot backup to my pc without passcode. I guess a good alternative would be if I could access my txts on icloud? I may consider replacing the screen, but I don't know if this will fix the problem since the phone looks pretty bad. I also prefer not to replace the screen since I wont be using this phone any longer.
Your comments / suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    reaL

Restoring a phone from a backup will put the device back to the state it was when the backup took place, i.e. all info that you had on that phone before using the backup will be gone.
You could try to restore the phone, which will back up the actual data on the phone, including the passcode, and use this backup to set up a new phone with. The passcode will still be the same, because it is  part of the backup.
More info here, iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
Not being able to fill in the passcode is not much different from forgetting it.
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

  • Is there a way to identify safe vs. malicious files on computer that was hacked?

Our MacBook (OS X ver. 10.8.5) was monitored remotely without our knowledge for over a year. Actually, we had found things that were suspicious but we listened to various experts who told us not to worry. We found several pages of commands in the Terminal window including commands for remote access.  Also many files had incorrect creation dates.
Our email and banking accounts were compromised.  A typical pattern began with our password being reset.  We’d change the password, and the new password would continue to work, but the hacker would know what that new password was.  She continued to know the password even after it was changed several times.  Computer security experts told us she installed a data logger on our computer.  We purchased a new computer and new hard disk for the old computer, and reinstalled all applications.  However, she was able to get into the email accounts on those as well.  We need to access some of our old files, but we do not know which are safe.
    We have several suspicious files on our computer that may contain malicious code, but nothing shows up when scanned with various anti-malware software applications. However, some files are suspicious because they have inaccurate creation dates that reflect times when our computer was compromised.  Others are suspicious because they were called up in the Mac Terminal application as Unix executable files, and they have Unix icons, but they were originally MS Word  documents. The hacker remotely entered several pages of commands into our Terminal application but many of the commands were of a form: filename; exit;
If anyone would be interested in examining the files, we would be happy to provide them.  We are seeking someone who can decompile Unix programs that might be associated with the MS Word files.  These files might report data to someone, or may be involved in spying through the iPhone or computer.  Any additional advice would be appreciated.

  • Open a VI in LabVIEW 5.1 that was saved in version 6.1

Does anyone know if it is possible to open a VI saved in LabVIEW 6.1 with version 5.1? I have come across some VI's that were either saved in version 6.1 or they were created in that version. Our computers are running Version 5.1 currently. If they can be opened in ver. 5.1 would they run ok in that version? Thanks

Each LabVIEW version can go back one step uing "save for previous". You need LabVIEW 6.1 to save them in 6.0 format. Then you need LabVIEW 6.0 to save them for LabVIEW 5.1.
Unless they use new 6.0 or 6.1 specific features, they should run just fine in LabVIEW 5.1 once converted.
If you want, you can post your VIs here and somebody will probably convert them for you.

  • I can't open a pages document on my air that was saved from my desktop through my idisk - please help!!

Pages is installed on my lap stop, desk top but I guess not on my Air - how can I read that document until I am able to load pages into the AIR - I really need to see and change this document?  Thanks.

It's a well known behavior which Jerrold and me described here some weeks ago.
I reported the bug to Apple but it seems that the engineers working upon the AppStore don't know the specs of the different kinds of iWork applications.
    They are three kinds :
    (1) applications resulting of the trial version + a bought registration code
    (2) applications resulting of the instal thru a bought DVD
    (3) applications bought thru the AppStore.
The appStore application is able to recognize the case 3.
Given what you wrote, it seems that it recognize case 2.
Given what Jerrold and me reported here, it doesn't recognize case 1.
In the first version, the app was fool enough to treat iWork '08 as bought 09 ones for a task
but make the difference for an other task.
This foolish thing (I'm listening Lester Young) was killed by the late update.
Of course, Jerrold's and my own versions are legal and up to date.

  • Is there a way to open Word from forms 10g?

Is there a way to open Word from a 10g form? I am trying to pass some data to a word document (like a template). Is there a way to open word from a form button?

That assumes that the mime types are correctly mapped within the browser and that you already know the location and name of the file on the client machine.

  • Is there another way to open a different iPhoto library?

Is there another way to open a different iPhoto library besides using the option key and clicking on the iPhoto icon? It takes me upwards of a dozen times to get it to work, so I get that screen where I choose which library I want to open - the option key usually just doesn't respond. And since it takes several seconds for my main iPhoto library to shut down everytime it incorrectly opens up, it ends up taking me upwards of a few minutes, and a lot of frustration, by the time the option key suddenly decides to randomly work and I can choose the other library I want. This is iPhoto '09, version 10.6.8, by the way.
    Thanks!

Of course I understand about double-clicking. but how can I double-click to choose the name of the iPhoto library I want when I cannot reliably get the menu option screen listing my two libraries to come up. As far as where the two libraries are actually stored on my computer, I haven't a clue - I just created the libraries on that iphoto library menu screen at some point in the past when I was setting it up. Is there some other place I could navigate to via Finder to select the library I want? I just don't think I need to spend $20 on software that I don't need - if I has lots of libraries, sure, but most of the time I use just the one library. But it's driving me crazy that when I do switch, I m having such difficulty.
    Thanks :)
