Is there a way to open Canon 5d mkii RAW files with Elements 7?

I keep getting error messages. I have looked at the updates but wonder if Elements 7 is too old?

Yes, much. You can try downloading the free Adobe  DNG converter and using that to make files that may work in your version of ACR, or you can use the canon software to convert the files, or you can upgrade to PSE 11.

  • Opening Canon 6D .CR2 raw files with CS5 Extended

Can't open Canon EOS 6D raw files with CS5. What is the minimum I need to do to open Canon  EOS 6D .CR2 raw files in Photoshop CS5 Extended version 12.1 x64, and Brige CS5 version 4.1.0.54, and Camera Raw version 6.7.0.339? I would rather not have to go through the hassle of first converting all files with the Adobe DNG - is there another option? Can I upgrade my Adobe software?

Im having the same problem, and i use CS6
Do you know if CC can open 6D .CR2 files?
    Thanks!

  • Can't open Canon Rebel T5i raw file in elements 10

I am trying to open a raw file (CR2) in my Elements 10 program, but I keep getting error messages that it's the "wrong type of file".
I've looked around & downloaded the plug-in that was supposed to fix that, but it still isn't working.
    What am I missing??
PS - I am also using Windows 7, the camera raw plug in version is 6.7.0.339, and my camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T5i

so I just followed this link:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=5316&fileID=4946
because it looked like my camera raw plug in needed updating, but I got an installation error code: U44M2P7

my camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T5i
The Rebel T5i was first supported by Camera Raw 7.4 which is only compatible with Elements 11 and later
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
Unfortunately Elements 10 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7. It's not compatible with Camera Raw 7.4 so it'll never be able to open T5i Raw files.
If you want to open T5i Raw files in Elements, you'll have to upgrade to Elements 12.
Alternatively, if you want to stick with Elements 10, you can download the free DNG converter from Adobe, convert all T5i Raw files to DNGs. Then open the DNGs in Elements 10.

  • Canon Powershot S100 RAW files with Elements 9

I have Photoshop Elements 9 and am trying to display and work with my RAW files that I've taken with my Canon Powershot S100 but it doesn't want to read the files... I've tried the lateset update from Adobe but that doesn't seem to work either... any ideas?

Use the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your RAW files to DNG, and open the DNG files in PSE9:

Is there a way to open a browser and it "starts" with opening many tabs?
    e.g. I open a browser - and it starts on 3 or 4 tabs?

Leave them open when you shuit Safari down. It doesn't have a home page function.
You might check the app store for some alternate browsers. I beleive there a few that will do this.

  • Unable to open Canon 7D CR2 raw files in Photoshop CS6

    Hi Folks,
I have been trying to open Canon 7D CR2 raw files in Photoshop CS6 (Extended) (Windows 8.1) but I'm always getting the error "Could not complete your request because the file format module cannot parse your file".
I installed the Camera Raw plugin ver 8.8.0.397 today. Did this initially by downloading and running the CameraRaw_8_8.zip available here Camera Raw plug-in installer. Still got the error.
Went and did the Check Updates in Photoshop and updated the Camera Raw (and other components) but STILL cannot open the CR2 files.
I can see the thumbnails in Bridge but when I double click to open them in Photoshop, same error.
Cannot seem to get past the "Could not complete your request..." error.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Doug...

    Hi Folks,
Thanks for your replies and assistance so far, very much appreciated. Its a very frustrating problem... this should be one of those things that just work.
I have uploaded two sample pics taken with my canon 7d. If you get a chance, could you please try opening these images to see if they work on your machine.

I have tried opening them on both my office and home computer but neither of them work.
Hmmm... could it have anything to do with the lens (Canon Macro Lens EF  100mm1:2.8 USM)
    Many thanks!

  • I just upgraded from LR 3.6 to 4, I can't get 4 to open canon mark iii raw files.?

I just upgraded from LR 3.6 to 4, I can't get 4 to open canon mark iii raw files.?  Also, does CS5  not read Canon 5D Mark iii files either?  thanks

For Cs 5, please use the latest version of Camera raw. Cannon 5D Mark III is supported on Camera raw 6.7. Update the software or download install the camera raw 6.7 from the Adobe Website.
Lightroom 4, please wait for the next update of camera raw for the support of Cannon 5D Mark III. You may try using the beta version of Camera raw 7.1 available on Adobe labs.

  • Is there a way to open a LV 7.0 file in LV 6.0 so I can 'recompile' it in 6.0 ?

I have some mathematical code I got from a colleague at work. He writes in LabView 7.0 and I write in Labview 6.0. I would like to somehow open this file and 'recompile' it in LabView 6.0 so I can re-use the code without having to re-enter it all in LabView 6.0.
Is there any way to do this?

With the Save with Options selection from the file menu, you can do a save to the previous version. 7.0 can save to 6.1 and 6.1 can save to 6.0. If your colleague doesn't have 6.1, post you code here and I'm sure someone will do the conversion for you as long as there's nothing in the 7.0 code that would prevent it. There's always the possiblity that the 7.0 program uses some featrue that isn't present in 6.0.

  • Is there a way to open a Labview 6.1 vi with Labview 6.0?

A colleague would like to share with me a vi he created in Labview version 6.1. I have an earlier version of Labview (6.0) and am not able to open the vi. Is there any way around this compatibilty issue?

Have your colleague save the VI as version 6.0. The option to do this is under File>Save With Options. The only caveat is if he used functions not available in 6.0.

  • Elements 7 cannot open Canon EOS 600D raw file

I try to open my Canon EOS 600D with Elements 7 and it displays a message "Cannot open [filename] because it is the wrong type of file".  I understand my copy of Elements 7 doesn't has the latest of Camera Raw that supports EOS 600D.  I found an update of Camera Raw 6.4.1 from Adobe that can support EOS 600D but it says it's only for Elements 9 or later.
Is there any way that I can open it in Elements 7?
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.
    John

You can use the 7.1 DNG Converter to convert your files to DNG copies which will then open in pse 7.

  • Can't open Canon 70D raw files with elements 12

Can anyone advise me why elements 12 will not open my Canon 70D raw files?  When I have tried to update elements it tells me that there are no updates available. The Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw plugin is version 8.0.0.137

The Canon 70D was first supported in Camera Raw 8.2.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    EOS 70D
    CS2
    8.2
    5.2
Camera Raw 8.5 should be available for Elements 12 via Help > Updates
Photoshop elements 12 and camera raw 8.5
If you have windows XP, Vista or Mac OS X 10.6.8 you won't get the camera raw 8.5 update, because it doesn't work on those operating systems.
In that case you should be able to update to Camera Raw 8.3

  • Is there a way to batch process color corrected RAW files to tif files?

I got over 160 color corrected RAW files from my photographer when I thought I was getting TIf or PSD files. I need to put them into an indesign doc to send out for printing. Is there a way to convert all of these in one fell swoop without messing up the work that has already been done? I didn't allow in my timing to save each one individually since i didn't know I was going to need ot do this. I am really unfamiliar with batch processing, so no idea how to best go about this, or if I even can. Please help. I am working in Photoshop CS6. version 13.06 x 64

An easy way is to open Bridge, select the images then click on Tools/Image processor.  You can then save as jpg, psd, or tiff.
    Hope this helps.

  • Opening Canon 5d MarkIII raw files in CS4?

I'm unable to find an update that will allow me to open Canon 5d Mark III raw files in CS4. I've downloaded a few updates, but nothing seems to be working. Help!

Convert the 5D Mark III Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS4.

    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/software-cinema-for-photographers/the-dng-wo rkflow/
To edit 5D Mark III Raw files, you need at least ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) 6.7 (preferably 7.1). ACR is a plugin for Photoshop which Adobe must continually update on a camera by camera basis.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cam eras.html
CS6 was the first version to support ACR 7.1. CS5 supported ACR 6.x.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applic ations.html
If you really want to edit Raw files, you would now be required to join the Creative Cloud since CS4 is no longer eligible to upgrade to CS6 or any version thereafter.
Your other option would be to buy a new full version of Photoshop CS6 (superseded today by the new version Photoshop CC which is only available via the Adobe Cloud).

  • How to open Canon Rebel SL1 Raw files in Photoshop CS 5.5? [was: HI]

Hi! have the adobe creative suite 5.5: Master collection and I own a Canon EOS rebel SL1.  I downloaded the camera raw plugin but it won'tl et me take my photos into photoshop. Its says my camera is not supported but on the camera list it is. I need to get my pictures edited so any help would be much appreciated!!!

The Rebel SL1 is supported by Camera Raw 7.4 and higher. I believe CS 5.5 uses Camera Raw version 6 and therefore does not support the SL1. Convert your raw files to DNG with the DNG converter found here:

  • Cannot open Canon Rebel XT raw files in Photoshop CS

    Get the following error message:
"Could not complete your request because this version of Photoshop does not supply the services required by this plug-in module."
I have updated to the 2.4 camera raw plugin and placed it in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\File Formats. When I go into CS to help->about plugin -> there are two camera raws that show up. The first is labeled 3.7 (2007) and the other is labeld 2.4 (2005). Not sure where the 3.7 version is coming from, but also not sure if it matters.
What do I need to do to get CS to enable the reading of the Digital Rebel XT raw files?
    Thanks!
    Gary

    Thanks, Rob.
I download the images via a usb cord -- simply going into C3, clicking on "Import." The software recognizes my camera, but the message I get is: "Although RAW or animated images exist in the camera, this software only displays JPEG images." C3 then proceeds to download the JPEG images but not the RAW images.
I should point out that I am using a trial version. I have been considering purchasing C3, with being able to work in raw format one of the primary reasons for doing so. Before purchasing, I decided to download the trial version for 30 days. Is it possible that the trial version does not have all of the same capacity -- including RAW editing -- that the regular version does? I was under the impression it was the full Photoshop C3 version.
