Yes, my computer was backed up. for reasons way too complicated to go into here, these particular folders were not part of the backup.

That's a bummer, didn't realize the exHD files were corrupt, esp if you have tried from another PC and not just this new computer.
You can get purchases from the itunes store transferred from an iPod using these directions:

If you want everything (meaning non-itunes songs, app data, photos, etc) you need to buy a 3rd-party ipod manager that support iTouch. Here is an iLounge article to start your research:

Sure. Install the latest version of iTunes on your PC, and just connect your iPod Touch to it, decline the prompt to autosync (the warning about losing your music), then go into the info tab, select sync contacts, and click apply. Your contacts will be transferred (both directions, i.e. the outlook contacts and your IPT contacts will be merged and the combined set will be present on both lists).

I tried to play some divx movie with chromium but plugin missing error occures. I tried to install totem-plugin, after that there was no missing plugin but nor video (I saw big red X on screen). there was Divx Web Browser at plugins like with gecko-mediaplayer but nor video with this too. I tried to figure out how can I fix it without any result. Maybe someone knows how can I play divx with Chromium

I can't play a movie on my iPod touch!

I have a problem: When I try to play a movie I bought from iTunes months ago, it shows me this advice "the requested URL was not found on this server". What does that mean??? Cause I have played that movie last week and it was fine. Please help.

Try using the communities search in the upper right of the page and search for: "requested URL was not found". Use the quote marks. You will find the previous posts on your proplem., I do not remember the solution.

my home button has today stopped working! is there any way that this can be fixed, either by a repair shop or by me doing some thing? at the moment the only way to get out of an app is to turn off the ipod and then tuirn it back on again - which is getting really tiresome and annoying!!
