Is there a way to Proof Colour within Elements

Our Camera Club  and all those within South Africa project images for judging Salon Entries using IrfanView which is not colour proofed. Entries edited in CS are able to Proof Colour but I have not found a way to do this within Elements. Any information will be welcome.

    No - just don't upgrade until Google release there maps app.  I wish I could go back to yesterday and give myself this advice.

    Elements 10 / Folder Mode sorts files in "file name" order; is there a way to do this in Elements 11

    No not automatically.
    You can p-lace them into an album and then choose Album Order from the dropdown menu and they will remain fixed.

    Is there a way to upgrade from the Elements 12 editor app to the full version?  I misread something and accidentally downloaded the app and I really miss the content that I´m mostly using.

    There are no student upgrades.  Never have been, never will be.  Your options are to either buy a new student verison or pay for the full retail upgrade price.  That's always been Adobe's policy.  If you are looking to jump on a cloud, then you need to contact Adobe sales for help.

  • Is there a way to create guides within ruler guides or aligned to ruler guides?

    So I was wondering for my own sake if there was a way to create guides within ruler guides or have it align to ruler guides? I am working on this magazine where the layout has a ruler guides. Which is inside the margins. I'm guessing this is to ensure the content is safe and also leaving adequate room for folios and running heads. This leaves me with the inside of the ruler guide to create my own grid. I tried doing this by hand and it seems to work fine however I was wondering is there a way to align the guides/grid (columns and rows) to the ruler guides instead of the margin or page? This would be extremely helpful as doing it by hand is quite the task. I'm trying to personally see how many rows and columns I can get in for a verstatile grid that can be used for different sorts of layout. (although I guess the grid could too many rows and columns) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Is there a way to make it align to the ruler guides instead of the page and margin? example of what i'm talking about:

    Barry,
    See "Using Hyperlinks and Bookmarks" on page 110 of the Pages User Guide PDF. You can download the guide from the Help menu.

  • Is there a way to navigate (TOC) within a video without SWF?

    My project requires that we do not use Flash. Is there a way to create bookmarks/TOC inside a video without using Flash/SWF? I was thinking maybe a PDF, but that bookmarks pages, not within a video.
    Suggestions?

    I created something like it with Captivate in the past so I was going to again. I guess the scope has changed enough that Captivate is not the right tool. But I thought it was worth asking in case a Captivate user has had a similar need and might have some advice in how I can accomplish this. I don't know much about video editing, but in my research, I haven't yet found a way.

  • Is there a way to track modifications within a specific field on a contact record?

    Is there any way to track and report on modifications that have been made to a specific contact field? We have an API synch set up with an external database. It currently writes to Eloqua when a customer initiates a change to their information in the external database. The field actually shows what they've changed on the external record. Since we're sending campaigns that encourage people to make these updates, I'd like to be able to run a report to show how effective our campaigns are, but since I don't have a snapshot of what was in the field before the campaign, I don't know how many people have actually made changes. Basically, I'm looking for a report that will show me "X" number of records were updated as a result of "XY" campaign.

    I had hoped Mr Number would keep up to date, but White Pages says they have no plans to further the app.  I asked them why they had 2 apps at this point.  They said it was because some people preferred the user interface of each one or the other.  I know that MN can import from contacts to the block list, WP does not.  Neither incorporate G+, only LinkedIn, Twitter, and FB.  Most all ID apps have done the same thing for me, especially with a social media account linked.  The only time I've had to do a look up is if it is just not found and I know I don't know who it could possibly be, or if it happens more than once.  Mobile numbers are weird though:  WP has found a couple automatically, MN would find it if I looked it up, but at other times, MN couldn't find a name to go with a mobile number.

  • Is there a way to make emails within emails?

    I was trying to use Adobe Dreamweaver and watch tutorials on how to do it, but so far I have not been able to find anything that would help me do it. I think this has either never been done before or it is so rare that tutorials haven't been made yet for what I am trying to do. If I wanted to make a website that allowed parents to make separate email accounts and make email accounts for their children that would allow them to see messages both for and from their children and allow the parents to control what their children could see and couldn't see and give the parents control of what adds could be seen on their children's email page and what couldn't be seen and call it Guardian.com then how would I make something like that? Here are the steps I would like to use if I could figure it out: Step 1: A parent starts an email account on guardian.com by providing their first name, last name, year of birth, and password and then creates the email name they want to use. Step 2: Guardian.com asks parent(s) if they want to make email accounts for their children. Step 3: If they said yes to the previous question then they can provide the child or children's first name, last name, password, and then create the email name for their child or children. Step 4: The parent is asked if they want joint community. If yes then the email will ask, "Do you want joint community?" If yes then their children will match the children displayed on their spouse's email web page and the names of the children will now appear on the user's email web page. Step 6: Try to send an email to one of the children with the message, "Hi, welcome to guardian.com." This will send an email first to both parents' emails. If the father approves first, but the mother has not approved then show the message, "Waiting for maternal approval". If the mother approves first, but the father has not approved then show the message, "Waiting for paternal approval." If both parents approve show the message, "Message successfully sent to (insert child's address here). Step 7: If child wants to send a message then the message will be sent to their parents before it can be sent out to any other user. When this happens the process described in step 6 is repeated.
    Is there a way to do this for email?
    Thank you.

    >If you were a kid with strict parents and they said you could
    >either have "parent monitored" email or no email at all wouldn't
    >you be glad you at least had the option of email even though it is monitored?
    Sure. But what's to stop the kid from creating a web mail account that their parents don't know about? That's what most kids do now who have parents that don't 'let' them have an email account.
    But as David already answered, it certainly can be done. But it really has nothing to do with Dreamweaver - it's about aquiring all of the skills required to build an application. You would need to become well versed in scripting, database design, web security, email servers, etc.

  • Is there any way of storing audio- / video-elements in the browser cache in Safari in iOS?

    Hi there,
    I'm desperatly trying to find a solution for a web application that has to run on an iOS-Safari (e.g. on iPad, iPad2 and iPhone 4):
    It's a web-application I wrote some time ago which lets the user search for and listen to short music samples (MP3s, all from ~100 kB to ~1.5 MB). The audio player is Flash-based, so it doesn't work on iOS-devices at the moment and I'll have to implement an alternative either in HTML 5 or with a "direct" QuickTime-object.
    Both my HTML 5- and QuickTime-alternatives for iOS-devices work fine so far, but there's one major problem I can't find a solution to:
    Unlike Flash and most HTML 5-capable browsers on Windows Safari on my iPad 2 won't store the audiofiles in the browsercache after loading and playing them - neither with HTML 5 audio-tags nor with a QuickTime-Object. Every time I load an audio file for playback from the server (with JavaScript-Commands, so without changing or reloading the whole page) it's downloaded again completely.
    If a user listens to sample A and then to sample B, Safari forgot about having played sample A and downloads the whole MP3 again if I like to listen to it again. On a mobile device with a potentially narrow bandwith this behaviour is out of the question.
    Is there a way of storing downloaded audiofiles opened by HTML 5 or QuickTime in Safari's cache so it remembers already having downloaded them  -  like it caches usual "web-files" like HTML, CSS or JPEG-images, or like Flash stores such objects in its local cache?
    The Application Cache with a manifest-file is not an option - this only seems to work if the browser is offline, for example if the iOS-device is in "Airplane"-Mode.

    Yes, I watched it. It contains interesting stuff I have to admit I didn't know yet, but unfortunately I still can't find a solution to my problem:
    My first attempt was trying to use the Application Cache with a manifest file - although this is not really the intended purpose for my application... I don't have a static set of files that I want to have cached or "available offline"  -  I just want to cache MP3s which the user has played yet.
    It should be possible to use a "dynamic manifest": One that is parsed by the Apache PHP module and listing the files played so far from a PHP session - something like this:
    <?php
    session_start();
    header("Content-Type: text/cache-manifest, charset=UTF-8");
    echo "CACHE MANIFEST\n";
    foreach($_SESSION['playedSongs'] as $song)
        echo $song."\n";
    ?>
    So whenever a song is loaded / played, I could access the PHP session with AJAX, insert the filename of the played file and manually update the manifest by calling window.applicationCache.update().
    There are two problems with this:
    First of all: It doesn't work. And I didn't even get to the point of trying to use a dynamic manifest:
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html manifest="cache.manifest">
        <head>
            <title>Test</title>
            <script type="text/javascript">
            function playStuff(id)
                if(id == 1)
                    window.document.getElementById("audio").innerHTML = '<audio controls preload="automatic" autobuffer><source src="song01.mp3" type="audio/mp3" /></audio>';
                else if(id == 2)
                    window.document.getElementById("audio").innerHTML = '<audio controls preload="automatic" autobuffer><source src="song02.mp3" type="audio/mp3" /></audio>';
            </script>
        </head>
        <body>
            <div id="audio"></div><br />
            <br />
            <input type="button" value="playStuff(1)" onclick="playStuff(1)" />
            <input type="button" value="playStuff(2)" onclick="playStuff(2)" />
        </body>
    </html>
    The cache.manifest looks like this:
    CACHE MANIFEST
    song01.mp3
    song02.mp3
    and is properly returned from Apache as "text/cache-manifest" by adding
    AddType text/cache-manifest manifest
    to the .htaccess of this directory.
    The Apache-logs clearly show that the Safari (respectively "AppleCoreMedia") doesn't care about the application cache when it comes to audio-files:
    Safari itself seems to acknowledge the manifest and indeed preload the files:

    Every file is downloaded again completely when playing it. So "AppleCoreMedia" (whatever this may be exactly, the QuickTime-plugin that is triggered by the HTML 5 audio-element I suppose?) either doesn't have access to the Application Cache or simply just doesn't realize the files in it. So if I switch my iPad to "Airplane Mode" now, the Safari is unable to access / load / play the files.
    I also tried using a QuickTime-object instead of an HTML 5 audio-tag (as far as I know HTML 5 audio and video in Safari always use QuickTime?) and controlling it with something like:
    document.movie1.SetURL('song02.mp3');
    Nothing changes, it's just like using HTML 5 audio and everything gets downloaded again when loading/playing it.
    And even if this would work there'd still be a problem:
    To properly implement that I would have to load the MP3-file in the Application Cache before playing it. When doing this it seems impossible to show a "real" progress: The ProgressEvent that is fired from the Application Cache after updating it doesn't seem to provide any information about data loaded so far and the complete size of a file. It's just "File 1 from 2" and so on, and not a "real" progress where I could determine something like: "100 kB of 1.2 MB loaded" as I can with the audio-element.
    All the other storage-approaches like Web SQL / Web Database or Local Storage are no help either:
    I don't see any way of getting the MP3 data into Local Storage or Web Database or getting it out again to play it. The HTML 5 Canvas-element has a toDataURL()-function to produce a Base64-encoded representation and use it for storage  -  the Audio-element doesn't seem to have anything like this.
    My last really "dirty" approach was trying to load "manually" Base64-encoded-MP3s with a combination of AJAX and PHP: A PHP-script outputs a Base64-representation of a MP3-file and is loaded by AJAX, so I could store the Base64-representation e.g. as Local Storage or in Web Database:
    <?php
    $infile = 'song01.mp3';
    $contents = file_get_contents($infile);
    $base64 = base64_encode($contents);
    $audio = 'data:audio/mp3;base64,'.$base64.'';
    echo $audio;
    ?>
    I tried using the resulting AJAX responseText as the source-argument in an audio-source-tag. Suprise: It doesn't work in Safari on my iPad 2, the player just fails to load the "file", although this works fine in Chrome on Windows. Possibly a size limitation for Base64-URIs on Safari / iOS.
    And again: Even if this was working in iOS/Safari I don't know of a way to determine a real progress from an AJAX-query...
    The last thing I could think of is not replacing the audio- or source-tags when loading a song but leaving them in the DOM-structure, check if it's already there when a song is loaded and just add a new audio-tag if a song hasn't been loaded yet.
    This solution would be my last resort: I'd have to rewrite nearly the whole application to completely operate on JavaScript / AJAX to stay on one site in the browser - else the "cached" audio data would be lost again when changing to another site in Safari.
    Furthermore I think there'll be a small cache limit somewhere when doing this?
    Any ideas?

  • Is there a way to run IDS within Websphere to recieve messages through JMS, then invoke Documaker?  Configuring the IDS client to use JMS within websphere seems pretty straight forward, but I cannot find information on running IDS as a server to invoke Do

    Looking to move the maintenance of our IDS instances which drive Documaker MRLs from the Unix command line to within a container ( Websphere ).  Using the IDS Java client with JMS is pretty easy.  I cannot see how I would be able to get an IDS server running within Websphere.

    IDS is not designed to run in WebSphere or any other J2EE container. It is a standalone Java application that uses native code, allows to run custom code, reads and writes files on disk, starts other processes, etc. and as such is not exactly suitable to run in J2EE. Most of such actions are not enabled (at least by default) in J2EE due to security concerns. You could run it as a service on Windows or setup to start automatically on Unix.
    What exactly do you want to achieve by it being in J2EE container? Perhaps there are other ways to do the same thing?

  • Is there a way to remove colour in PSE 7

    I would like to remove colour from images to enable them to be printed out and then coloured in by children - turning them black and white does not work obviously and I have not had much look changing the colour with the eyedropper tool as it is not precise enough.

    What you want is transforming your image into a sort of drawing with only edges so that what has to be colored remains white. The nearest tool to do that is the filter : ...Stylize/find edges. You'll need to erase within the edges to get something clean. Another way would be to use various selection tools and to use the menu edit/stroke to create a clean new layer. It would need to work on small parts of the image and combine the resulting drawings.

  • Is there a way to Find & Replace within a selection?

    I looked in the User Guide, but I didn't find any information on how to Find & Replace just within selected text. I can see how to do it for the entire document or do it one instance at a time. Is there a trick I'm missing, or is this a missing feature?

    Hey Chuck,
    I opened Pages and used its help menu and came up with this. It does not specifically mention anything about choosing just 1 paragraph or text box, but I hope it helps you none the less.
    +Finding and Replacing Text+
    +You can find every instance of a word or phrase in your document, and optionally change it to something else.+
    +Here are ways to find and replace text:+
    +Choose Edit > Find > Find, click Simple or Advanced to set up find/replace criteria, and then click a button to conduct find/replace operations.+
    +Simple: In the Find field, type the text you want to find, and type any text you want to replace it with in the Replace field.+
    +Advanced: In addition to typing Find and Replace text, you can set up additional find/replace criteria.+
    +Replace All: Automatically conducts the find/replace operation without your review.+
    +Replace: Replaces the current selection with the replacement text.+
    +Replace & Find: Replaces the current selection with the replacement text and immediately finds the next occurrence of the Find text.+
    +Next or Previous: Finds the next or previous occurrence of the Find text.+
    +Use the other commands on the Edit > Find submenu.+
    +Find Next or Find Previous: Finds the next or previous occurrence of the current Find text.+
    +Use Selection for Find: Finds the next occurrence of the selected text.+
    +Jump to Selection: Displays the selected text when it’s not currently in view.+

  • Is there a way to find text within Sequence?

    Many of the TestStand 3.0 sequences that I'm creating are fairly lengthy (200 or more steps plus subsequences) and I often need to find a step within the sequence that has a specific string in the Step Name.
    I'm aware of the "Find" feature, but this will change screens and give me a list of all of the steps in the sequence that contain the search string.
    What I want to do is to search for the string within the Sequence so that it takes me to the NEXT occurance of that string (F3 for Find Next), so that I can Edit the Step (i.e. change the Specify Module, Preconditions, or Expressions).
    The only workaround that I've figured out so far is to highlight the sequence, do a "CTL-C" and paste into a word processor, then search th
    at document. Once I find it, I then have to find the same line in the TestStand Sequence.
    Is there an easier way?
    Mike

    Mike -
    I do understand your wanting this type of Find capability. We had considered different designs of Find feature in TestStand and one design allowed for F3 to traverse the tree view of a single step group in a sequence. There were drawbacks to this approach, so we decided on the current implementation. Since you cannot instruct the sequence editor to view specific location in its tree view, any solution that you create would require your own sequence tree view to facilitate the display and editing of the values. The SearchResults class in TestStand 3.0 was used to implement the underlying find functionality in the sequence editor.

  • Is there any way to do pages within pages?

    This is the best way I can describe what I'm trying to do.  I am creating an 8.5"x11 manual.  Each page is broken into 4 separate squares (cards? tiles?), each with content about a particular product my company sells.  The manual is in alpahabetical order, so when I have to insert a new product, I end up having to move around every tile that comes after it.  I was wondering if there was any way to set up those tiles to behave like pages in InDesign, where I could just create a new one, and all of the others would automatically make room, by moving down the page and onto the next.
    I have done them with a Data Merge before, but that seems needlessly difficult.  I should also mention that I have other content on the page instead of just the cards, so I can't just have the pages be the size of the tiles and print 4 to a 8.5" x 11" page.

    The short answer is no. What you can do is create a flow using linked text boxes and then insert elements into this.
