Is there a way to put the songs from my ipod to my itunes???
I think I did something and it erased some of my songs in the library but they are still on my ipod. what happened to the songs??? and is there a way to put the songs from my ipod onto my itunes?
Perhaps you may
i still
have the music files on your PC -- but not seen in iTunes.
Check using Windows Explorer in 'My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\...' for folders containing your music (or wherever you keep your music folders). If it is there, we can get iTunes to recognize it. Try one or both of these:
--- In iTunes choose: Edit==>Preferences==>Advanced tab. Select 'Change' and browse to the music folder in your PC drive (if it isnt already). Click OK to save that setting.
--- In iTunes choose: File==>Add Folder to Library & browse to the music folder in your PC drive. Click OK.
Also check in your Recycle Bin to see if you accidentally deleted it. If so, Restore it back to its original spot.
Then try running a search using Windows Explorer (or similar) for files with the extensions of: m4a, m4p, MP3,
i OR
with the partial names of the songs you are missing.
Do all the above before you decide that they have been completely erased from your hard drive.
If your music files are truly gone, and you have some or all of your music files on your iPod, these links will give you
i several
methods of recovering whatever songs remain on your iPod; some free, some third-party software, some more comprehensive for restoring playlists , ratings, counts, etc. Read them and their associated links before deciding on a strategy that works for you.

After recovering your song files, consider developing a backup strategy for just this type of situation. Below are some very good threads to read on the subject:

I got a new computer and backed up my iTunes library to an external hard drive. The external hard drive is not allowing me to access the drive. I no longer have access to the old computer. Is there a way to transfer the songs from my iPod touch to my new computer?
That's a bummer, didn't realize the exHD files were corrupt, esp if you have tried from another PC and not just this new computer.
You can get purchases from the itunes store transferred from an iPod using these directions:

If you want everything (meaning non-itunes songs, app data, photos, etc) you need to buy a 3rd-party ipod manager that support iTouch. Here is an iLounge article to start your research:

This question is for my Mom as she has she messed up her iTunes and is missing thousands of songs. She did not back them up to an external drive. She does, however, still have her iPod with all of her songs organized correctly.
I was able to get the songs from her iPod back to her iTunes; however, some of the albums are splitting into multiples albums (based on whether or not there are multiple artists on the track and/or album). Is there a way to fix this? If so, how? If not, is there a way to bring the iPod to an apple store and have them upload the songs directly from her iPod to iTunes match and then download from the cloud so there aren't syncing issues?IF the old hard drive is still accessible...

IF not, you can redownload all your past purchases. Setup the new iTunes with the same ID and password; select Purchases from the right-hand Quick Links column, then go thru all the tabs and redownload. -
How do i put the songs from my ipod onto my itunes?

Have you got your original PC with the iTunes folder on it? If so you can use your iPod to move the folder to your laptop: "How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173-en
Alternatively there are a few third party programs you could look at for accessing your iPod, here are links to a couple.

How do I put the songs on my iPod onto my iTunes
I put iTunes onto my laptop and want to put my songs from my iPod onto my iTunes, how do I do this or do I have to rip my cds again to put the songs onto iTunes?
If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod -

Save all the photos from your Droid into a folder on your computer.
Connect your device to your computer. On iTunes left Pane, select iPhone under 'Devices'; then on the right Pane, select PHOTO tab. Make sure Sync Photo box is checked, and "from" box selected the folder that has Droid's photos. Then click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right window. -

I would like to add all the music that is on my ipod to my itunes library - for some reason the backup itunes library I have does not have all the music on it and I do not know how to get the songs from my ipod to the itunes library - I do not want to sync the ipod with the current itunes as this would wipe out all the music I have on my ipod. please help me to get this music back on my computer or in the itunes library.
One option is to use iTunesFS and extract songs from your iPod.
