Is there a way to reactivate homesharing to a deactivated pc?

I want to be be able to sync my iphone with my pc. The problem is the pc doesnt let me sync unless i delete all the content on my iphone. I thought I could use homesharing to help. Although I've used all 5 of my computers for it, i deactivated all the computers, including my laptop (which i downloaded the content of my iphone from) to intend to reactivate my laptop and pc to share content. It says eror -315 or something like that when I try to reactivate my laptop. Is there a way to reactiveate homesharing to a deactivated pc?

If you want to back up your Messages your best option is to back up using iTunes. Your phone doesn't store voicemails, as that is up to your carrier.

Hy, I'm thinking of purchasing iTunes Match to make it a bit easier to share our different libraries. I have read the issues about about multiple apple ID's etc. My main issue however is that I take great care to have an organised Library with correct metadata (names, album art, etc). My family however does not and apart from when I want to download a certain song from them I really don't want to have their whole "messed up" library to show up. Is there a way to do that? I'm okay with activating and deactivating it but I've also read that some people had some problems with that and had to wait 90 days before they could reactivate the account.
So to recapitulate what would you suggest to share music without having other peoples library's messing mine up?
P.S. I use Homesharing when I can but I'm a student so I'm not always home and my father works abroad and it would be nice to have all time access to everybody's music.

iTunes Match is associated with one Apple ID and regional iTunes Store. There is no sharing of the service across Apple IDs. So if you purchase the service for one Apple ID everyone who wants to use it must then use that Apple ID.
As to your question about ID3 tags, iTunes Match does not "clean up" ID3 tags. The tags in the library are untouched.

My phone became corrupted today and, after continuing to have problems with 2 new phones, the apple specialists determined that the only possible explanation was the presence of a corrupted photo or video in photo stream; and that the only way to use my phone without it shutting down was to deactivate the photo stream on it. It worked, but I would like to be able to have the option of using photostream again. The apple folks suggested that I delete all photos from photo stream on my computer; and then, when it is "empty", reactivate it on my phone? Is anyone familiar with this problem?

Homesharing gives you the option of seeing only the content in the shared library, that is not already in your own library.

To have them all on your iPad at the same time you would need enough free space, which you won't have on a 16 gig model.
You might be able to download them on your computer's iTunes, possibly via the Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option, or by going to the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage. If you can you can then sync/watch them one at a time to your iPad, or stream them from your computer's iTunes to your iPad via homesharing : homesharing will need to be enabled on both your computer's iTunes (File > Home Sharing menu option) and iPad (Settings > Videos) ; both will need to connected to the same wifi network ; and iTunes on your computer will need to be open ; you should then get a 'shared' library option in the Videos app on your iPad

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I work in education and particularly music. Teachers are looking to create a playlist of selected track but only want the selected track to play then stop.
This allows them to talk to the class during presentation and not worry about having to stop playback mid discussion.
I've been successful doing this from appleTVs homeshared to a library by unchecking songs in the playlist. But It would be useful to instructors who have there own media on their device.

I had great success in homeshareing a iTunes library of teaching material and creating topic specific playlist and used apple remote app to control an appletv connected to that homeshared library. As TXMark suggests, uncheck the songs in iTunes and the media will not automatically play the tracks in sequence.
note: if you have video media that you would like to have in the playlist, be sure its listed as a music video in the options of get info of track. otherwise the apple tv will not see the media in the playlist and will put it in the movies section of the library.

The only way to stop after a song is to create a playlist consisting of only that song.

I've gotten my past work colleague's phone, and I can't start my account fresh his account is still connected to the phone. I can't contact him anymore, is there a way I can get rid of his account?

This makes it a problem because I can not access the phone because the phone still reconginzes the past owner. I went to a tech place however they said asking Apple was the only way. If you cannot contact the previous owner you will not be able to reactivate and use the phone. They either have to provide the ID and password that were used to originally activate the phone, or erase it and remove it from their account as explained here:http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515. There is no way around this.

Is there a way to have two iTunes music libraries: a library on my computer and a shared library on a NAS server (cloud box)?

I would like to know if I can have two iTunes music libraries: a library on my computer and a shared library on a NAS server (LaCie CloudBox). I want to have some music files on my computer and a larger collection of songs with cover art on a shared CloudBox (NAS server) so that also my family members can listen to the music on the Cloudbox. Is there a way to do this?
I know I could just copy the music files to the CloudBox, but that way only the songs are shared, not the cover art. I could also just keep the files on my computer and share the library via home sharing, but that way my computer would have to be always on. So is there a way to have a shared library on the cloudbox that works regardless of my computer being on or not?

Bob, in addition to what Barbara said, I have an expired trial version of Elements 13 on my computer and I bought the software at Costco so that I could have the serial number to reactivate it at a $30.00 savings over Adobe's price. I was just wondering if there was a way to download Costco's version since I do a lot of printing thru Costco.
