No. You can only import photo and video files using the camera connection kit.

Hello does not currently supporting recording. That is a great idea for a future feature though :)
I'd suggest using something like Jing (http://www.techsmith.com/jing.html) to record your screen and share that. There are other utilities that do the same thing as well

Is there a way to back up an iPad using something like Time Machine?

I have had a MBP for a few years now and I love it. One of the features I really like is Time Machine. I just purchased the new iPad and have filled my 64 GB to the brim. I would like to back it up to my laptop or portable HD and recover all the data just as I would using time machine. So in case it is lost, stolen or broken I could restore it onto a new device as was before. Is there an app for this? Thanks in advance for the help.

Photos taken on the iPad will always be synced with iTunes along with contacts, bookmarks and notes created on the iPad. However, if you have synced this iPad with a different computer which has transfered its photos to iPad, a different iTunes will not transfer or backup these to the new computer. Same goes with music which has not been purchased in iTunes but synced from another computer, such as ripped CD's.
Apple assumes your using one iTunes to sync with multiple devices. Not the other way around. This is the advantage of iCloud, as long as your using the one apple ID you can sync from the cloud to multiple devices without being tethered to one machine.
But if you have synced this iPad with a different iTunes or computer and have put iTunes Purchased music onto it, then you will get a warning like the one below, giving you the option of syncing this music into the current iTunes if the computer is authorised with the same apple ID... In other words; if your using the same apple ID on two different computers to make iTunes purchases.
Once again, Apple assumes your using one Apple ID and not mixing and matching with another persons account. If you would like to share music which is not purchased through iTunes you are free to do so, but you cannot use a regular "iPad sync with iTunes" as the conduit to do so, you should use a hard drive or even an iPod in Disk Use Mode to merge iTunes content from one computer onto you primary apple computer for syncing.

Whether you can use your phone in this way is entirely the responsibility of your phone company/carrier. You need to contact them to see if you can add tethering to your phone plan. Be warned though that it could get rather expensive, so if you don't really need it, then do without, but in any instance, you need to contact your phone carrier.

Is there a way to record sounds from keyboard as they are?

So I have a musical keyboard that I've attached to my macbook to record in Garageband. I have a ton of sounds on my keyboard from percussion, brass, piano, etc.
When I record, for example, a trumpet sound from my keyboard into Garageband, Garageband just records the notes using its one version of trumpet or piano or whatever.
How do I get GarageBand to just record the sound as is?
I tried the "real instrument" track option but that ends up record all sound from the microphone on the MacBook and not recording the sound through the MIDI connection.

I am recording the Arpeggios from my Motif rack ES into Logic Pro 7.2 in midi format but when I try to do this, the notes that I play on the keyboard also get recorded along with the arpeggios? Is there a way to record just what's coming out of the midi out (of motif rack es) and not the keys that you are pressing to kick off the arpeggio?

Either check your Motif's owners manual to see if you can disable the keys or make sure the keys are out of the arpeggio's range and use a transform object in the environment to filter out the unwanted notes.

Recording off Skype is like recording off the radio (if that's even done anymore), it's not like a DVR. The best you can do is continue to record the current audio. If you can resurrect whatever portion you saved earlier you may be able to splice the audio together. If your recorder didn't record it, then there isn't anything to retrieve since Skype doesn't record your calls.

Start by looking around the examples that ship with LabVIEW (if you are
using LabVIEW).
Also look around zone.ni.com for general data acquisition information &
examples. A good site.

I've already tried using RecordMyScreen but whenever I open it it just turns black and won't work. I also cannot change my year to 2012. Reflector isn't an option either, because I want to find a free method. Does anyone know any ways to record my screen without using those two? I haven't been able to find any other solutions. There are no apps that can record your screen like you want. Using Reflector or a similar app is the only option available.

Yes, you can. I did it awhile ago by recording a voice memo and synching that memo to my computer. I then pulled up the memo in GarageBand, and used the ringtone template there to create the ringtone and share it back to iTunes, and re-synch to the iPhone. Once it's back on the iPhone, go to settings to assign it as a ringtone for a person, or as an alarm, alert, or whatever. Anyway, that's how I did it. There may be an app out there by now that would make the process simpler. Hope this helps!
