Is there a way to recover corrupted psd. files?

I recently transferred all my work from a work computer to my mac at home. i am unable to access my work computer until October as we are having a 'break'. However, I have a deadline for September 15th and I need all my files.
Some older files open perfectly fine but I fear there was a problem in downloading-perhaps due to my haste to leave and enjoy the beautiful weather!
I tried downloading a Remo Repair software but unfortunately this was unable to launch. Is there program out there that you would recommend in this instance for me to recover my psd files-which are of great importance!
Any help would be appreciated
Basic notes:
Created on Windows computer cs5
Trying to open on Mac cs5
Sd card used to transfer-couldn't eject, this may be the problem

It is most difficult to recover a corrupted file.  Many have tried but almost all end up in failure.  Try opening in another program.  IF you can then "save as" and you can probably open in PS.
Do you have a backup?  Do you still have original files on Win computer?  These are your best bets.  It is too late for these files, but I think you can see the necessity of having a backup on a separate HD or even on a disk.

  • Way to recover corrupt .PSD's and / or .JPG's ?

I am recovering my system after a bad crash. I have many .psd's and .jpg's which are corrupt.
Is there any method, tool, or application you would recommend as the best attempt? I see several advertised on the internet. Do any of them work? What is the best? If you cannot name names, please point me in a helpful direction, where I might find reliable information.
    Thank you.

The best way to recover corrupt images is from the backup sets.
Since you don't appear to have this convenience you could try something like this:

I don't know it, but it was the first thing that came up in google for recover corrupt images.

  • Is there a way to recover purged calendar files for Tungsten T5?

I accidently purged 2 months of calendar files from my Tungsten T5 a few days ago. The kicker to this scenario is I hotsynced my PDA 2 months ago. I did not check the "save archive on pc" in the dialog box. Is there a way to recover the deleted calendar records?
    Post relates to: Tungsten T5

I take it that the calendar data is also not in Palm DT any longer? Have you synced more then once? There is a backup made automatically in the Palm software; but it would be overwritten if you have synced more then once.
If your data is not on the device, or in Palm DT software, and you have synced more then once, there would not be any way to recover your data unless your computer has been backed up at some point within the 2 months.

I recently and mistakenly deleted video files that were in my Finder folder, don't know why they were in there but that's another question, in doing this it also deleted them from IMovie and I have lost them unless someone out there know's different,

If you haven't emptied your trash, they should be there.
If not, they should be in your last Time Machine backup. (Or other backup.)

Unfortunately, the mail accounts settings (and messages rules) for Outlook Express are stored in the Windows registry and not in a file that can be easily restored.

  • I accidentally over-wrote a NOTES file when update it from my iPhone.  Is there a way to recover this previous version of the file from iCloud or TimeMachine backups?

I ther as way to recove a NOTES files that has been recently over-written?

If you synchronize Notes with iCloud, open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the box marked Notes. If you sync Notes with another mail service, disable that in the Internet Accounts or Mail, Contacts & Calendars preference pane. You may be warned that notes stored on the server will be deleted. If you trust your backups, confirm. Leave the window open.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.apple.Notes" selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the selected item to the Trash, then restore it from a backup that predates the unwanted change. If you back up with Time Machine, enter it and select the snapshot from which you want to restore.
Log out or restart and empty the Trash.
Re-enable synchronization in System Preferences, if you disabled it.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Is there a way to recover iCal data from computer or iPhone backup through iTunes?

I  synched my iPad  with my computer and my ALL of my iCal information disappeared from my computer. I tried put my calendar information back on my computer from my iPhone, but instead the reverse happened, and all of my calendar information disappeared from my iPhone, too.
I am using an older MacBook Pro (15-inch Core 2 Duo), running Mac OS X Lion version 10.7.4, an iPhone 4, iPad 1, and iPod Touch, all using iOS 5.1.1 (9B206). I regularly use iCal on my iPhone and on my computer, but not on the iPad and iPod Touch.
I do not use iCloud because my personal calendar and contact information was appearing on other family member's iPhones. (We share an iTunes library in under my Apple ID, and I did not want to create a different Apple ID for iCloud yet.).
Is there a way to recover my iCal info on my computer? Or alternatively, could I recover it on my iPhone from my iTunes backups (my iTunes backups are encrypted)?
Of course, I learned my lesson, and if I recover my data, I will back up my calendar daily, but for now, valuable information is lost, and I would like to recover it if at all possible.
Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

You'll have to confirm with the developer of Keeper whether the data is stored as part of the iPhone backup or not. If it is, then restoring the iPhone from your latest back should restore the data to Keeper. My guess, though, is that since the free version of Keeper won't allow you to create a backup, the data is not part of the iTunes backup and hence won't be restored.
    Regards.

I lost all my Notes is there a way to recover them? I can't backup my phone to iTunes i don't have my mac with me. I'm not sure how to use iCloud? or where to even look or even find out if they are saved there? or if they were linked to my e-mail how could i find them there?

No in order to backup to iTunes, you would need to unlock your phone.
In order to import pics to your computer you would need to unlock your phone.

  • Is there a way to recover data in the event of a crash during backup?

I've been busy with schoolwork so I just got around to updating my iOS from 6.1.3 to 7.1.1. As all of you probably know, it was a much needed update since some apps stop working on older iOS versions. I first updated iTunes which was also out-dated. After restarting my PC I then connected my iPad and clicked the update button. As iTunes began to backup my iPad, it encountered and error (it didn't specify) and apparently lost communication with the iPad. The iPad was frozen. I am assuming it was waiting for iTunes. I tried re-inserting the USB but the device no longer registered with my computer. The only thing I was able to do was turn off the iPad but that put it into recovery mode. iTunes was then able to communicate with the iPad but insisted that it must be restored to factory settings. Since it was reset to factory settings, iTunes then asked if I wanted to set it up as a new iPad or restore from a backup. The problem is that for the same reason it has taken me so long to update iOS, I have also not created backup for the past 14 months. Is there a way to recover the data that was on the iPad or has the last 14 months been lost in manner of minutes?

If iTunes does not recognize the iPod
    put it into recovery mode

  • Is there a way to recover hard drive data after backing up via Time Machine (from Time Capsule)?

    iMac 27", Mid 2011
    2.7GHz Intel Core i5
    Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b)
    Apple Time Capsule (May 2012)
    Greetings,
Is there a way to recover the most recent version of your hard drive, after you installed an earlier version. I accidentally restored to an earlier version of my Mac Book lap top and installed it on my iMac desk top. I installed the earlier version using an Apple Time Machine and Apple Time Capsule.
I see some recovery software online, but I'm not sure if I should buy one or if there's another way to approach this problem.
The restored version has some of my files, but it's 2 full years old!
Am I dead in the water?
I appreciate any advice you can offer on alternative recovery techniques or recovery software recommendations.
    Sincerely,
    Chuck "dying over here" B.

    Hey R,
    Thanks for the quick reply.
Unfortunately the whole time I thought the TM/TC was backing up correctly as the thing was starting and stopping as if everything was fine. I guess I was blinded by the little green light that was always on.  So actually it does not have a recent version of my iMac, - it only lists old 2011 and 2012 versions of my Macbook.   I suppose I screwed something up at setup, and as it was hard lined (via a T5 cable) into my iMac, and the Macbook was shut down in a drawer, I never realized the error.
The restored version is less than a Gig, so there's plenty of room left on the iMac (1TB HD). As such, I'm hoping that most of the files have not really been overwritten.
I'm willing to pay to have it professionally recovered, but is that even possible?
