Is there a way to remove files when they are in used

i got a file in the trash when i restart log of or shut down the files keeps saying in used its a exe fie i would this as a exe file it will not let me delete it and when i move it it stays in there and keeps cloning its self
Pls help me as its been bugging me for the past week

My wild guess is that changing the Filetype changes what application can use it, perhaps breaking what is already using it...
I gave the answer above. There's probably nothing actually using it, and in the case there is, changing the code won't do anything. It's how the Finder interprets the 'bzy ' type that causes the report.
Start up using your Tiger install disc or your Restore disc, then trash the file.
No bootable Mac OS X install or restore disk includes an usable Finder.

How to hide multiple XsltListViewWebPart when they are empty using OOTB or script?

I have a SharePoint 2013 page that displays a few XsltListViewWebParts i.e.(Lists).
All the lists contains rows of data when we open:

But, We have some customized filters and views in place, and when we open e.g.: http://Server/Pages/MyPage.aspx?FilterField1=LinkTitle&FilterValue1=250
The page opens correctly, But all the XsltListViewWebParts which do not meet the filtering will still be shown but as empty web parts - How to hide those?
In other words, In my SharePoint 2013, How to fully hide multiple XsltListViewWebParts on a page when they are empty ?

Why can't itunes locate my music files when they are there?

I think that this happened when I checked off both "keep iTunes media folder organized" and "copy files to iTunes Media Folder when adding to library."I had all of my files located at C:\Users\Beata\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media and then I noticed that itunes made folders for all of of my music files because I have checked off the keep iTunes media folder organized. Ever since then, itunes can't find all of my files but only some of it and I don't want to go one by one to locate all of the songs. All of my songs are located in the same location which is C:\Users\Beata\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music I changed it to this location because all of my song files are located there and the place where it was located before, I didn't find the song files on there. I also noticed that itunes would oragize and create folders for my songs in the my music library and I thought that was the reason why itunes couldn't find the files because they were in the wrong location so I moved all of those folders to C:\Users\Beata\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music So, is it because all of my files are in folders since itunes organized them? All of my files are in album, artist, and song title folders. Where should all of these folders be located at? Also, iTunes creates multiple folders that have the same name and should I just leave the folders be or organize them myself because I have folders that have the same exact name as in the artist and title but it has different song files in the folders. Should I combine the files into the same folder that have the same artist or should I just leave it that way? Please ,I really need help as I have tried almost everything.

Finder de-selects files when they are locked/unlocked

I have several encrypted disk images that I use to store various personal info on: financial data, logins/passwords, health info, etc.
Whenever I update the content on any of them I make a copy of the .dmg file, then rename the copy with the date and time in the filename. For example, if I have a test.dmg file, when I update content in it, I would make a copy and rename the copy like test_201401051459.dmg. That way I have a series of backups of each iteration of the encrypted disk image file. (I've had encrypted disk image files get corrupted in the past, so this is a simple way to make sure I can open at least one of the previous backup files if necessary.) I also "lock" each dated copy of the .dmg file to prevent accidental deletion.
At the end of each month I move all of the dated backup .dmg files to an "_Old Data" folder. In order to do that, I select all the .dmg files I want to move into the subfolder, then right-click (or ctrl-click) on them and -- continuing to hold the Ctrl key down -- I click on "Get Summary Info" to open a single "Get Info" dialog for all of the files so I can unlock them before I move them (if I don't unlock them, then Finder will make copies instead of moving them). As soon as I de-select/uncheck the "Locked" option in the "Multiple Item Info" dialog, Finder de-selects all of the selected files in the Finder window and also narrows the column they're displayed in (I always use Column View in Finder windows). This forces me to manually re-widen the column so I can see the entire file names, and manually re-select all of the files so I can move them into the sub-folder.
This is changed behavior from Snow Leopard (from which I upgraded to Yosemite). In Snow Leopard, Finder left things alone. It didn't decide all on its own that files should be de-selected and that column widths should be narrowed to what it thinks is right. This turns a relatively simple operation into an unnecessarily-more-complex operation. Pure PITA.

Backup catalogs wouldn't have helped with this problem anyway, but naturally, you shouldn't delete backup catalogs for a while.

Is there a way to locate file path of a font used in text layer?

I delivered a file to a client and there is a missing text layer dependency.
I thought I delivered the correct font for the text layer but there is an issue somewhere...perhaps multiple versions of the font on my system..or slight
difference in the font name. The project loads without the error on my system.
Is there a method within After Effects to obtain a file path for the font I am using? ..or at least a way to get more detailed information
about the font itself?...I mean beyond what is available in the font selection window.
I need to locate the exact font in the exact folder After Effects is pulling it from.

even better..I did a search within Fontbook for comparable file name..as I don't add and remove fonts constantly
and discovered the font and also discovered why there was confusion in AEFX..the font had been generated in
Fontographer and it's file name did not match error prompt or collected file report
that was better than suffering through the 100's of possible results I was getting in Finder. And Fontbook also provided the path to the exact font used...

What happens to files when they are deleted on the iPhone?

When you delete files like videos, podcasts or emails directly on the iPhone by swiping it and hitting the "Delete" button what happens to these files? Are they instantly removed from disk or they go to some sort of "Recycle Bin"?

That's not good! I can't reproduce that problem here. Are you syncing via iCloud with iOS and perhaps opened it there too? And are you sure you're opening the same document? Maybe you have one with the same name in two different places?

Our build system is getting a slight tweak with a new test runner. After our build system compiles the file, I would like to be able to load the files that have just been compiled.
Our build system runs inside its own JVM and calls ant scripts to run the different processes(Separate JVM). The new test runner will also be called from the build system(Same JVM) but not as an ant target. Is it possible to call the newly compiled files from inside the build system JVM if they had not been created on the start of that JVM using reflection?

Illustrator CS 6 makes copies of files when they are opened

This is not a view problem. Illustrator actually makes a file labelled "copy"everytime the particular file is opened. Each time it is opened, it makes another copy & tags a number on the end. It only happens with the occasional file, but once this happens, nothing will stop the problem. Selecting all & pasting into a new file does not help. There are no extra views. The artwork is originally copied from the customer file & pasted into a new document. A solution would B immensly appreciated.

The solution for me is in the "Get Info" box. Select the problem file & "Get Info" by right clicking or just select the file & type command i. Every file we had problems with had the "Stationary Pad" checkbox selected. Uncheck this (& the "Hide Extension" as well if it is selected) & no more copies on opening. The stationary pad button is like a lock, except it opens an editable, saveable copy while preserving the original.

If they are on the screen I know of no way to remove them
If they are on the case then removing the scratches would also remove the coloring. I would get a case and hide them if the scratches are on the case.
