  • Is there any way to retrieve music I previously bought on iTunes?

I just got a new computer after my old one was fried and I was wondering if it was possible to re-download everything I had bought on my prior comp. I cannot find anything that points me in the direction of a solution to this. If you need more info, please ask.
    Thanks

If you have all your music still on an iPod, you can download a free version of Ipod ripper from the net. Just google it and you'll find it. I'm not sure it's sanctioned by Apple, so they may delete this. But, when I overloaded my memory and crashed my MacBook, I had to erase everything and start from scratch. Luckily, I had most of my music on my iPod and was able to recover it all using the download. Good luck.

  • Is there a way to delete music that was bought on another account?

So I have an iPod classic 60GB that I got from my brother in law.  There are over 3000 songs on it and I'm wanting to know if I can just transfer the DRM free songs to my library.  There appears to be 2 accounts that songs on the iPod were purchased with.  I would obviously like to have the songs that will play on my computer, but would rather not have to deal with finding each individual song and then deleting them if they won't play.  Any suggestions?

iTunes Match will do that for you, turn it on in the Store menu (in iTunes). It's $25 per year.

  • Any way to restore music and photos if iPod when all erased due to interrupted sync?

is there any way to restore music and photos on iPod when all erased due to interrupted sync?

You said the music and photos were all erased from the iPod? And now you say your computer and all backups are gone. There is therefore no way to recover your files short of paying thousands of dollars to a professional data recovery laboratory and even then there's no guarantee you'll get all of it – or even some of it – back.

  • My daughter cant remember her passcode, and she has never synced it.  Is there any way to restore without losing all the apps and music?

My daughter can't remember her passcode, and she has never synced it.  Is there any way to restore it without losing all the apps and music that were downloaded?

If you can't remember the Passcode, you need to restore the device from the computer it was last synced with.
Follow the instructions for putting the device in recovery mode >  iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
If you are a resident of the U.S., have iTunes 10.3 or later installed, and iOS 4.3.3 or later, can re download iTunes purchases for free.
So retore the iPod, then re download the iTunes media.

  • I was running KeyPassFox with Firefox 8.0.1, but the plugin does not work in the new release (9) . Is there a way to restore my previous version with all of my bookmarks intact? I do not mind if I have to restore the plugins myself.

I was running KeyPassFox with Firefox 8.0.1, but the plugin does not work in the new release (9) . Is there a way to restore my previous version with all of my bookmarks intact? I do not mind if I have to restore the plugins myself.
The plugin shows on the list as enabled and functioning, yet the tool does not show on the toolbar. It would appear that I need to restore the previous version of Firefox and wait until a newer release of the plugin is available before upgrading the browser.

I copied the iTunes file from the external drive and it's in both places.  I thought all I would need is the iTunes program (which I downloaded to new computer) and my iTunes library file.  There must be something else that's missing.  My iTunes library looks the same on the new computer as it does when I open it on the external drive.  If I click on an iTunes library song from my new computer, it will only play if I have the external drive plugged in.
My back-up drive is a mess.  I have multiple copies of music, video, photo, and document files and I don't know how that happened. ={  Obviously, I don't know how to back up stuff properly and there are back-up files extending over a 6- to 8-year period.  I think all I did was just drag and drop the main folders from the back-up drive to the same main folders on the C: drive.  Also (and I'm kind of fuzzy on this) Windows used to automatically save music files in a folder within my document files (which makes no sense to me).  As my Jewish friends would say, "Oy Vey!"

  • I accidentally deleted my media files from iTunes and Trash when I was trying to move the files to an external hard drive. Is there a way to restore the media files from a Time Machine backup or from iTunes Match? What are the steps to do this?

I accidentally deleted my media files from iTunes and Trash when I was trying to move the files to an external hard drive. Is there a way to restore the media files from a Time Machine backup or from iTunes Match? What are the steps to do this?

If you have been backing up on Timemachine.
All you need to do is enter time machine... Then the rest is obvious.
Find the iTunes folder and hit 'Restor'.
If not the only way to get all your iTunes music back is to enter iTunes Store.
On the right hand side you should see 'Purchased'.
Click 'purchased' and there you have it.

  • Is there a way to restore an iPod's play count? It mysteriously disappeared

For some random reason, my iPod decided to erase the play count of all of the songs on my iPod...but it left other things, like Genre, Date Added, Last Played, Skip Count, etc. The Last Played column especially makes no sense because it'll say that I last played a particular song "12/4/2009 12:58PM" and have the play count as 0.
Is there any way to restore the play count? I'm particularly annoyed because I had a smart playlist that contained the top 30 most played songs on my iPod.
And I don't think my iTunes Library would be of any use; I've stopped using the iTunes Library to manage my music for quite some time now. I only use iTunes as a middle man for dragging and dropping my music onto my iPod (so obviously I don't use the syncing feature).

    Tyler:
First, start Task Manager. Kill iTunes.exe, iPodService.exe, and iTunesHelper.exe. Just select them and End Process on each one.
Next, use these instructions to put the iPod into forced disk mode: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
Now, connect it to the computer. You should be able to recognize the iPod in this way.
If these instructions do not work, then something else is wrong, and whatever device locks up is where the problem is. Meaning that
-if the iPod won't go into Forced Disk Mode or comes out of Forced Disk mode, then the iPod has the problem and needs to be replaced (it's not fixable by you)
-if the computer locks up, then the computer probably needs to be formatted and have Windows reinstalled, since no Apple software is now running on the thing (you killed the only three pieces of Apple software that matter)
This is one of those things that is simply always true. There's no trickery involved, no way you can make it behave other than the way I've laid it out above. It's a simple matter of knowing how the stuff works.
So, I hope that helps you find the problem at least, if not to fix it. In forced disk mode, with no Apple software running, the iPod is just like any other external hard drive. Nothing special to it.

  • HT1473 Is there a way to import music from a cd to an iPad?

Is there a way to import music from a cd to an iPad?

Not without going through iTunes... Well, strictly speaking there are other tools that can copy audio files into the iPad's memory, but iTunes is the way that is supported, and using iTunes ensures the device can be backed up. Useful should you need to restore the device in the event of a problem, or a replacement in the event of loss, theft, or damage.

  • If my backup was deleted from itunes is there a way to restore it?

All my backup were accidently deleted from Itunes is there a way to restore them? Or at least the last backup?

I am not sure if he synced his iPhone to which iTunes Library - may be with yours? An iPhone should be synced with only one iTunes Library. If he has his Apps and Music in his iTunes Library, I guess he only have to re-sync with his itunes library.
However, you should be able to re-download the Apps and Music (purchased in iTunes) through iTunes as Apple already implemented some features of their iCloud in itunes 10.3.1. So, upgrade to itunes 10.3.1 and follow the below steps. I am not sure you can re-download option in earlier versions of iTunes.
Step 1. Open your Bf's iTunes. Make sure you have logged onto your BF's iTunes Store. Click Store>Sign In and then insert the Apple ID & Password. Since you purchased Apps and Music I assume you have them.
Step 2. Click on "Purchased" on the left side panel under the "Store" Section.
Step 3. Then Click on "Downbload Previous Purchases" on the bottom right section of the screen.
Step 4. Once you have re-downloaded all the Apps and Music, check the sync settings, check the items you want on the iPhone and hit Sync. The items should be copied back in his phone.

Restore from iCloud backup if shed has one.
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Is there any way to get music content back after it disappears?

Is there any way to get music content on iPod Touch back after it disappears?

What do you mean by "disappeared?" If you had synced your iPod touch with your computer, iTunes automatically makes a backup of your iPod so you could try restoring from that. The music would then also be in your iTunes Music Library on your computer so you can sync it back to your iPod.

The instructions are in that link. Just follow them VERY CAREFULLY. Especially the part about:
Turn off your device and leave it off.
Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes. [but DON'T connect it to the iPhone yet]
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
When you see the iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
