Is There a Way To Restore System Files When They Have Been Overwritten As PDF Files?

A friend of mine installed the last Acrobat update last week on her Windows 7 system. Everything seemed fine until she tried to view the Manual for her FujiFlilm Camera. All of a sudden all of her System Files were overwritten as PDF files, her Security software was gone, and she could no longer get on the internet. When she attempted to restore to a previous version on her computer, she was unable to do it. Is there anyway of restoring her system without losing everything? And has anyone had this problem? I have also received this update but have not downloaded it for fear I too may experience the loss of everything.

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for, but the message came from Adboe Reader saying the latest update was available, so she clicked on it to download and install.
The Fujifilm Manual came on a CD with the camera. That was the first time she utilized the PDF function after downloading the update.

You can view tracks in a given format by selecting to show the Kind column. If you mean you want to determine which specific MP3 tracks you have that were converted by iTunes as opposed to being imported in MP3 format, Get Info on a track and look at the "encoded with" field.

Try using an application such as Data Rescue or FileSalvage. Don't write anything else to the drive until the files are recovered or you choose not to recover them.

I tried to put them in using the "Home calendar" blue, and them change them to purple (Work Calendar) after I had paid them. The problem is that once I changed a bill from blue to purple it changed all upcoming bills for future months to purple also.

You might want to try Reminders.
Creat a Bill Pay list, add all your bills set a reminder to repeat every month and when you pay one just check them off as complete

Why do files show in all my files when they have been deleted

In finder > all my files > there are files that have been put in trash yet they show up when I delete them it wants me to fix alias but won't work because the file has been deleted

Have you tried to drag the alias to the desktop?
When you look at an alias, what folder is it stored in? If you highlight it, it should show the information in the path bar at the bottom of the finder window. If the path bar isn't visible, click on View and select show path bar.
You may try to repair permissions using disk utility and see if that helps.

Well, I've decided to keep all of my mp4's in a central location, off of my primary hard drive which is where iTunes thinks they are now. The way I have changed locations in iTunes before is manually going in, right clicking, going to "get info," clicking "yes" when it says "do you want to locate this file," browsing around for it, WAITING for "get info" to eventually pop up, closing it, and moving on to the next file. Very time consuming. Is there a more efficient way to do this? I have about 25 files I'm moving.

Place all the songs into a Playlist, 'Get Info' on the first, llocate it, then select 'Next' within 'Get Info' to move to the next song.
It's that, or delete the 25 broken references within iTunes then re-Add them back into the Library (File=>Add Folder/File).

so i'm a seasoned mac user, but i've always wanted to be able to do this, i've tried virtuedesktops to try and switch screens, but whatever i do, i have to quit the game if i want to change something on my desktop. that, or run it in a window, which kinda s u c k s. i know in windows you can minimize anything by hitting the window key. things like apple-tab don't work either. there must be some way to do this!

That seems to depend on the game. Certain games seem to disable your ability to switch tasks. But what you could try is to induce the Force Quit (command-option-escape) dialog. If my experience serves correct, this seems to override whatever wants to prevent multi-tasking.

My apps are stuck on "Waiting..." when they have been downloaded after iCloud backup restore

My apps were downloaded from my iCloud backup after restoring and updating to iOS 7 and it didn't work quite good. Many apps got stuck "Waiting...", but they're not downloading at all. I can access them through the app store purchased apps section or through multitasking. They work perfectly but the icon doesn't. I tried to delete them, re-download them, I tapped the app icon and nothing worked. What can I do?

By the way, I've tried to sync it again with iTunes and it doesn't sync the "Waiting..." apps. Every time I plug my iPhone and try to check its apps, iTunes stops working for some unknown reason. If you don't have a backup or never imported your pics to your computer, then no you can't retrieve it.

Not easily, that I'm aware of. You would need to purchase a data recovery program, which I understand is very pricey.
Maybe you could make your kids have their own "non-administrative" accounts, where they will not be able to erase hiistories? They should have their own non-admin accounts at any rate.

Are they backed up to your computer? If so you can go to the "Apps" tab in the main window of your iPad and resync them there.
OR
On you iPad go to App Store > Updates and the first tab should be something called "Purchased" (if you have already entered you Apple ID) and you can re-download from there.
