Is there a way to restrict "mature" apps from app store?

Is there a way to restrict "mature" apps from the app store? We are not purchasing or downloading these apps, but when you just search through available apps there are some pretty mature ones available, and some have pretty explicit photos in the "previews". I have changed all the settings I can find in itunes and on my iphone, but as far as I can tell this just applies to what we download. And let me reiterate that these "mature" apps show up even though we're not specifically looking for them (I'm sure you've seen them, all the bikini girls, lingerie, and karma sutra apps in the "fitness" section of the apps store, etc.) These are usually categorized as 17+, so why are they even showing up if my security settings restrict content to 12+ ? I'm assuming there is no way to restrict them, but let me put it out there that it would be much appreciated if there were a way (any apple employees listening???)

  • Is there a way to clear the app stores "Not on this iphone" list of previously downloaded apps?

with the new update there is a way to download all your old apps. however my list is immensly long, and i am looking for a way to clear or reset the list.
the list im referring to is on my iphone 4, in the app store, under the tab "Updates" and "Not on this Iphone" alot of these apps are old or i have no interest ever downloading again and would prefer to not have them showing

There are many threads that have recently been posted addressing this matter. Currently iTunes and iOS displays all Apps ever downloaded  and you can't control which ones you would like to delete from that list permanently and which you would like to keep in the Cloud, so to speak.

To change, you need a physical address and a credit card issued for the U.S.

  • Is there a way to search the app store by OS?

My daughter still has an ipod touch 2g and with all the versions of operating software out now it is harder to find apps that will still work on her device without looking at details for every app.
I would love a way to search by OS.  I do keep her software upgraded to the latest available for that device, but I think it's still at 4.xx.
I'm planning on getting her a new one next year for her birthday!

    Sorry but no.

  • Is there a way to auto sign out from itunes store when itunes is closed?

We have multiple libraries on one PC (Win7). Each user has their own Itunes account and their own Itunes library. When Itunes is closed and then reopened into a different library, the Itunes Store remaines signed in to the last user who signed in. I would like to automatically sign out of the Itunes store when Itunes is closed. Anybody have a suggestion?

    Hi,
iChat and Messages 7 (Mountain Lion) had a pane in the App Menu > Preferences  called Alerts.
This could see the Sounds in iChat (or Messages), the System Sounds defaults and anything you had stored in ~/Library/Messages and you could set any of these Sounds to any of the 17 actions as a global choice
As in Maverick if you highlight a Buddy in a Buddy List and then use CMD + i (Get Info) you could similarly set sound to individual Buddies.
You cannot do this in Mavericks/Messages 8 as the Alerts Pane have disappeared.
You cannot turn Off the sounds the app makes for the various different actions such as Video Invite or File Transfers.
You can no longer set individual Buddy sounds either.
There has not been a way to do this for iMessage Contacts.

  • HT201304 Is there a way to restrict user access to find my ipad with out restricting the mail app?

I am working on setting up multiple Ipad 2 tablets with iOS 5.1.1 and I need to restrict access to turn off find my ipad. The only way I see to do this is to turn on restrictions and dont allow changes on accounts. The issue I have then is it also restricts the Mail app setup. Is there a way to restrict one and not the other? We use microsoft exchange mail and I would be willing to use another mail app if anyone can suggest one that works as an alternative?
    Thank you.

I don't know of any reliable tracking app, but perhaps someone else here can suggest one I'm not aware of. Any could be defeated by just restoring the iPad, though, so about all you could hope to do would be make things a bit more difficult to turn off. For a third-party app, you'd have to restrict the user's ability to uninstall apps, something which might be equally problematic for you.
    Regards.

  • Is there a way to prevent iPhone apps from syncing to my iPad?

Whenever I install a new app on my iPhone, it gets synced to my iPad even though it's an iPhone-only app. Is there a way to restrict my iPad to only receive apps designed for iPad upon sync?

Thanks. This is closer to what I am looking for. But this will also prevent iPad apps I purchase on my Mac from automatically syncing, which I want. I just wish there is a button that says "sync only apps designed for iPad".
For now, it's easy enough to go through the iPhone and iPod Touch Apps section in the sync panel and uncheck all apps in that category.

  • Is there a way to lock an app so no one else can get into it?

Is there any way to lock an app so no one else can get into it?

Not really.  You can hide an app in restrictions, but iPad is a single user device, so there is no real way to lock an active app from others if you let them use your iPad.

  • Is there a way to remove an app such as the stockmarket from the phone?

Is there a way to remove an app from the phone: ie i would like to remove the stock market--can i do it?

Sorry, you can't delete any of the built in apps, and the Stocks app can't be restricted, so your best bet is to move it to your last page or put it in a folder.

  • Is there a way to open login apps in separate desktops without the screen switching between them?

When I login, I open several apps on desktop 1, and several apps on desktop 2. However, the Mac switches to Desktop 2 a few seconds after I login, as the applications open there. Is there a way to prevent the screen from moving during login?

Strange, it's working fine now. Nevermind.

    No.
One of you create a new AppleID and one use the existing AppleID.
But you can still use the items in each iTunes library.
Create separate computer logins for each of you.
This will give you each your own data. Contacts, calendars, photos, etc. (and your own iTunes library).
