Is there a way to restrict opening a PDF to one computer (PC or Mac)?

Is there a way to restrict opening a PDF to one computer (PC or Mac)?
I'm not sure how it would be done. Encoding of current IP number or logicboard serial number? Any ideas?
The PDF publication is a trade-sensitive document that is expensive and the publishing company would like to restrict it's use to one computer. (Passwords can be passed around.)

Do this:
- iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
- Then import into your new computer
- Copy any synced photos to the new computer
- Backup the ipd to the new computer
iOS: How to back up
- Restore the iPod from that backup. The link directly above says how.

  • Is there a way to un-sync my iPod from one computer and then sync it to another computer with iTunes without losing all my data or downloading software?

Hi, I'm selling my current computer that my iPod is synced to and want to un-sync (I think the correct term of phase is) my iPod from my current computer, so i can then sync it to my new computer without downloading any software or deleting all my data. Is this possible? If so, please tell me how. As usual, any help would be helpful.

  • Is there a way we can open/close posting periods on a "per day" basis?

    Hi SAP gurus,
Is there a way we can open/close posting periods on a per day basis?
It is not possible in OB52 since it only has control per period and not per day.
Will assign points for suggestions. =) Thanks!

    Hii
In standard SAP there is not such functionality where u can do these kind of configuration...it is at least for a month that is through OB52.
If u still wants this functionality it is through the validation.
u need to create the validation for that company code and thn u can use this functionality....
    hope it helps u

Is there a way to restrict changing the browsing history in safari with ought restricting the entire application?

For the iPod touch in your profile?
Private browsing help here >  iOS:  Safari web settings
For Safari for Mac OS X ...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Private Browsing
You can only block all history in Private Browsing, pages you visit, and autofill.

  • HT3258 is there a way to still open the apps i legally purchased?

is there a way to still open the apps i legally purchased? what if that company that wrote the softwear doesn't exists any more??

No, you don't need to re-buy programs to get them to work.
That said, some programs (including Parallels) need newer versions to be compatible with Mountain Lion.  So you may need to buy a Parallels upgrade for it to work.  You didn't mention the version you have but since only the latest Parallels version is compatible, you may need to pay in this specific case.
Most other apps should run OK, if they're relatively recent.  You need to check with the vendors of those applications to see if they run on Mountain Lion or if they have an upgrade.
Applications bought via the Mac App Store are pretty much all compatible with Mountain Lion.

Is there a way to restrict the minuit select list on the calendar to 1/4 hr instead of 00 to 59. Example: 00,15,30,45

Hold down command key to select multiple songs, then "Get Info", and you will modify all fields at the same time.

  • Is there a way to restrict "mature" apps from app store?

Is there a way to restrict "mature" apps from the app store? We are not purchasing or downloading these apps, but when you just search through available apps there are some pretty mature ones available, and some have pretty explicit photos in the "previews". I have changed all the settings I can find in itunes and on my iphone, but as far as I can tell this just applies to what we download. And let me reiterate that these "mature" apps show up even though we're not specifically looking for them (I'm sure you've seen them, all the bikini girls, lingerie, and karma sutra apps in the "fitness" section of the apps store, etc.) These are usually categorized as 17+, so why are they even showing up if my security settings restrict content to 12+ ? I'm assuming there is no way to restrict them, but let me put it out there that it would be much appreciated if there were a way (any apple employees listening???)

The computer that had my iTunes account on has broken, and was thrown away.
All the media I bought on it are on my iPhone only - is there any way to re-open my iTunes on the new computer or to download them off my iPhone?
I'm worried that if I lose my iPhone all will be lost. Please help!
    Thanks,
    Alastair

Buy yourself a backup drive. Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer. The exception is purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will probably have to use third party commercial software unless you have an older model iPod. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • HT201304 Is there a way to restrict user access to find my ipad with out restricting the mail app?

I am working on setting up multiple Ipad 2 tablets with iOS 5.1.1 and I need to restrict access to turn off find my ipad. The only way I see to do this is to turn on restrictions and dont allow changes on accounts. The issue I have then is it also restricts the Mail app setup. Is there a way to restrict one and not the other? We use microsoft exchange mail and I would be willing to use another mail app if anyone can suggest one that works as an alternative?
    Thank you.

I don't know of any reliable tracking app, but perhaps someone else here can suggest one I'm not aware of. Any could be defeated by just restoring the iPad, though, so about all you could hope to do would be make things a bit more difficult to turn off. For a third-party app, you'd have to restrict the user's ability to uninstall apps, something which might be equally problematic for you.
    Regards.

  • Is there any way to merge 2 video layers to one without exporting?

Is there any way to merge 2 video layers into one without exporting as a new QuickTime movie? I have tried opening a blank player to copy and paste into, but it always forces it to be layered, even when I change the layer numbers both to zero. I tried extracting the video layers and omitting the audio tracks. Then I saved it as a new self contained movie. I am trying to burn the video to dvd with Roxio Easy Media Creator 9's MyDVD on WIndows XP, but I am also using a MacBook with QuickTime Pro. MyDVD will only recognize one video and audio layer at a time, hence, the other layers get skipped. There should be an easy way to merge two video layers without having to export it as a new movie, which takes 2 hours for this 2 hour TV show. Thanks for any answers.
