Is there a way to restrict Outlook Anywhere by IP Address

We are currently able to restrict OWA to certain Public IP's so workers in remote offices can login.  Is there a way to do that for Outlook Anywhere as well?
OptfinITy Support Staff

Hi,
You can block Outlook for external users by setting IIS IP Domain restrictions on the Server by allowing only internal IP ranges and denying All on the RPC Website.
More details:
HOW TO: Restrict Site Access by IP Address or Domain Name
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324066/en-us
We can also use following command to define whether clients can connect to Outlook by using Outlook Anywhere.
Set-CASMailbox -Identity Alias -MAPIBlockOutlookRpcHttp $True

Is there a way to restrict opening a PDF to one computer (PC or Mac)?
I'm not sure how it would be done. Encoding of current IP number or logicboard serial number? Any ideas?
The PDF publication is a trade-sensitive document that is expensive and the publishing company would like to restrict it's use to one computer. (Passwords can be passed around.)

    Do this:
    - iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
    - Then import into your new computer
    - Copy any synced photos to the new computer
    - Backup the ipd to the new computer
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup. The link directly above says how.

For the iPod touch in your profile?
Private browsing help here >  iOS:  Safari web settings
For Safari for Mac OS X ...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Private Browsing
You can only block all history in Private Browsing, pages you visit, and autofill.

Is there a way to sync outlook calendars with Imac, Ipad, Iphone calendars?  I am not running exchange server.

    hello,
BlackBerry devices do not support ActiveSync.
you have several ways, from best to less good :
    1)
if your company has set up Outlook Web Access, you can use the BIS connection of your device to connect to the Exchange server (email + Address book) through the url of the Outlook Web Access. The OWA needs to be accessible from outside the company.
    2)
if your company has setup an external link to the exchange server (can be accessible from outside the company), you can configure your BIS directly to the Exchange server (email only if I recall correctly)
    3)
if your company allows it, on your PC you can setup your email account to automatically forward all incoming emails to a third party email (like GMail or Hotmail), and then configure BIS to connect to that email provider. You will get push email. You can then setup a reply-to: field.
    4)
use a Windows Mobile phone that has the ActiveSync feature.

  • Is there a way to restrict "mature" apps from app store?

Is there a way to restrict "mature" apps from the app store? We are not purchasing or downloading these apps, but when you just search through available apps there are some pretty mature ones available, and some have pretty explicit photos in the "previews". I have changed all the settings I can find in itunes and on my iphone, but as far as I can tell this just applies to what we download. And let me reiterate that these "mature" apps show up even though we're not specifically looking for them (I'm sure you've seen them, all the bikini girls, lingerie, and karma sutra apps in the "fitness" section of the apps store, etc.) These are usually categorized as 17+, so why are they even showing up if my security settings restrict content to 12+ ? I'm assuming there is no way to restrict them, but let me put it out there that it would be much appreciated if there were a way (any apple employees listening???)

  • HT201304 Is there a way to restrict user access to find my ipad with out restricting the mail app?

I am working on setting up multiple Ipad 2 tablets with iOS 5.1.1 and I need to restrict access to turn off find my ipad. The only way I see to do this is to turn on restrictions and dont allow changes on accounts. The issue I have then is it also restricts the Mail app setup. Is there a way to restrict one and not the other? We use microsoft exchange mail and I would be willing to use another mail app if anyone can suggest one that works as an alternative?
    Thank you.

I don't know of any reliable tracking app, but perhaps someone else here can suggest one I'm not aware of. Any could be defeated by just restoring the iPad, though, so about all you could hope to do would be make things a bit more difficult to turn off. For a third-party app, you'd have to restrict the user's ability to uninstall apps, something which might be equally problematic for you.
    Regards.

  • Is there any way to sync Outlook for Mac with iPhone? I have tried everything but not successful. Apple says it is not possible to sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5. Any help will be much appreciated.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.

  • Is there a way of restricting access to columns in a BI BEANS report?

    Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to retrict access to a column in a BI BEANS crosstab report. The scenario is, if a particular user has the priviledges to see the profit column in a crosstab, but another user doesn't is there any way to stop the less restricted user from seeing this column using the same BI BEANS report?
This is really the alternative to having 2 reports, 1 with the profit column and 1 without, and depending on what user is logged in, it will show one or the other.
    Regards,
    Scott.

    Hi Scott,
    This is an interesting question.
If I presume you are talking about an OLAP data source where data does not reside in an Analytic Workspace, then the following is true :-
The BI Beans respects database security and therefore the user has access to a particular schema(s) and table(s) in the database.
When talking about cubes, you must remember a cube is mapped to a particular Fact table and dimensions.
Because a Measure is a constituent sub-component of a cube, unless the measures are sourced from different fact tables with different user privileges, then it would be difficult to discriminate against users and hide columns or measures.
Basically, what I am saying is:
A cube is the finest granularity at which users can be differentiated.
A cube maps to a fact table, hence this is the level at which the DB grants are applied.
Unless measures belonged to different cubes, and hence different fact tables, then it would be impossible to discriminate against users and access to different columns/measures.
What you could do however, at the BI Beans application level is :-
Before displaying a presentation object, you could filter the Query programmatically and remove components which you did not want to display i.e. measures etc.
This would require more leg work with the presentation object and filtering the embedded query, but would achieve the same effect. You would have to work out a method of validating users too and what they had access to.
I hope this answers your Question.
Should you require more information, please let us know.
    Many Thanks

  • Is there a way to invite outlook users to meetings with Ical

    Hello all,
I just recently left a firm using MS Exchange with Outlook for Mac 2011 and had been successfully sending meeting requests automatically within my Outlook email. When the recipient accepted, the meeting was added to my calendar.
I am now starting my own business and am left without an exchange. I am on Mountain Lion 10.8.2
Is there a solution to do this with Mac Mail and Ical?
Could I buy/create my own exchange?
How are business people using Mac to efficiently communicate and successfully add appointments and share call-in information with others?
Also, is there a way to move emails from Outlook 2011 folders to Mac Mail folders? I have tried the drag and drop process, dragging the Outlook folder to my desk top to create an mbox file, however, for some reason only about 30% of the folder's email are captured....
    Thanks,
    S

    Csound,
Thank you for the reply. I have read other older posts you have replied to on this topic and I was hoping that there was going to be an update. It seems this is a popular subject and one Apple and MS are not willing to play nice in the Sandbox on.
If I purchase Office 365 and pay for monthly webhosting, email, etc. will my Ical friendly collegues be able to accept meeting invites? This means I would more or less be operating as I did while at the PC friendly company..correct?
Also, would this allow me to then use the 365 email account on my Iphone (all devices would sync) as I was while on my company exchange?
    Thanks again for the help,
    S
I should add, that I have much prefered using Outlook 2011 rather than the Mac Mail client as well.

  • Is there a way to import Outlook 2010 emails  to Mavericks Mail without 3rd party software?

I'm hoping that there is a fairly straight-forward way this can be done.
My friend has just purchased a MacBook Air with Mavericks operating system.  This is her first Mac and she needs to get all her old business emails onto her new MacBook.
She paid for '1 on 1' Apple support and had a session with an 'expert' yesterday - taking along her old PC laptop in the hope that he could help her.  He basically told her she should 'start a new life using Mail'.  This is not what she needed to hear.
I'm using Mail version 5.3 on my 5 year old MacBook with OS X 10.7.5.  I don't want to give her incorrect advice but my version of Mail allows one to Import mailboxes but not, unfortunately, it would seem emails from Microsoft programs for the PC.
    My question is this -
Once she has created an Outlook Data File (.pst format) is there a way she can convert this to .mbox format so that the data can be imported into Mavericks Mail without the use of third-party software?
I'm sure that she's certainly not the first person who has faced this situation but, from the attitude of the (less than helpful) Apple help person I fear that the answer may not be yes.
    Cheers
    Tricia

Do you know where she should look on her Outlook program to find this out?  She hasn't started using Mail yet because she hasn't been able to transfer her emails - so she's still sending/receiving emails from her laptop PC.
No idea, I try not to have anything to do with Outlook except provide a way out of it for the sensible. But aren't you an Outlook user?
Here's the link to the site I found -
    http://www.outlooktomail.com/buy-now-for-mac/
That should be fine, it is the same as the one in the Mac app store (which would be the preferred version to use)
My 'help' situation is a little worse than it would first seem - we're in different countries (very grateful for Viber) - her attention span for matters technological is rather short so I'm trying to make everything as painless as possible - and yes, she has backups of her backups so all should be well in that regard.
Thanks so much for your help.
    Tricia
    You're welcome.

  • Is there a way to restrict iOS printing?

I just purchased a Brother MFC-8810DW.  It is AirPrint capable.
Is there a way to limit so that my son's iPad cannot print to this printer.

Parental Controls in OS X are called Restrictions in iOS (Settings/General/Restrictions) but there is no restriction for printing.
Can you see a way to prevent Bonjour printer access from iOS devices?
