Is there a way to Retrieve QT Pro Registration # from old computer?

Hi,
I had a Mac G5 Tower that died about six months ago. I removed the two hard disk drives and have a Newer Technology disk reader, so I can acess information on the drives, and bring up the disks on my Macbook Pro laptop.
I would like to retrieve the registration number for the QuickTime pro from the G5 disks, but I can't figure out how to do that. The registration number is many years old, and Apple keeps those numbers for only 18 months.
Is there a way for me to retrieve the registration number?

Well, I figured it out....snagged the registration number from the old drives. Not that difficult to do....just took me a while.

Not sure what you mean by 'turn off calendars'. Do you mean under 'accounts' that i should delete the previously synched calendar accounts from the iphone and then turn it back on? This will restore all the information?

Unfortunately, no, not unless you had them backed up somewhere (like with bitpim software). Once the texts are deleted from the phone, they're gone.

Yes, although it depends a bit on how your library is organised. If everything is in the iTunes standard folders, libraries are in ...My Documents\My Music\iTunes and all the media in ...My Documents\My Music\iTunes Music then you can share the main iTunes folder over your network. Install iTunes on the laptop, then hold shift immediately after clicking on the iTunes shortcut to get the option to choose or create a new library. Navigate to your network share and open the iTunes Library.itl file. Don't try to access the library from two machines at the same time.

My iPhone 6 appears to be water damaged and won't turn on. At this point, I'm ready to give up on the phone but I'd like to retrieve data from the phone if possible - especially photos and videos. Is there any way to do this? I have seen suggestions to take it to the Apple Store, but with the nearest one just over an hour away, I would be very disappointed to drive all that way just to be told there's nothing they can do.

Thanks, John. I should have specified - no iCloud back up. I would have maxed it out with the first backup, so I didn't do it. I back up to my computer, but hadn't done that in about a month. Big lesson learned here. I have a new phone and am setting up iCloud!! I'm trying to allow all my family's devices to back up to the same iCloud - that's the new challenge

Short answer: No. You cannot convert "DVD" licences to Appstore ones.
I'd suggest that you:
Make Disk Images of the DVD's on your current Mac, and use those for future installs
Make use of the "Remote Install"/DVD drive sharing feature
Buy and External DVD drive

How to transfer QT Pro registration from old Mac to new Mac?

I have just upgraded to a new iMac and want to use my QT Pro 7 single user license on the new Mac. I type in the registration key and it says invalid license. How do I de-register license on my old Mac so I can use it on my new Mac?

Type it in exactly...upper case...lower case....dashes...Mr or Mrs, if that is there...
Your right about this single user...one (brought) Pro key per computer... Having it on your old computer will not block it from being installed on the new computer.

What I mean by "common metadata", is a unified, updated, most current metadata, which I could update in each program. That is without overwriting the metadata, but appending new keywords to the metadata I created in the previous program.
I use Bridge, then Lightroom and finally Photoshop. That's the regular workflow: Bridge for preliminary sorting and and adding some keywords; Lightroom for organizing and picking the best images; finally, Photoshop for processing. I got Photoshop Elements on trial. Doesn't work for my purposes.
I need to share and update the metadata / keywords when I go from one program into another. Can't retrieve metadata I set up in Bridge into Lightroom. Same happens with Photoshop, where I can't retrieve keywords I add in Lightroom. It's tedious to write up the keywords again.

I bought a new computer, and i have transfered everything using home share, file transfers, etc.. yet still when i go to sync, itunes tells me ipod can only be synced with one computer... is there a way to retire the relationship with the old computer?

i bought a new computer. the itunes app allows for home shareing, file transfers, etc.. but i want to discontinue the syncing with the old computer and sync my ipod touch now only on my new system... but i cant seem to disconnect that old relationship at all.. when i try to syncit says that my ipod is already synced with another computer, do i want to discontinue that and only use the new informationon this computer? i dont want to do that yet because it doesnt seem like everything has come over, and i am afraid of losing songs that i downloaded from cds, etc..

if you don't want to sync it because you don't think that everything has been transferred then i would check first if you can, before you commit to used only the data from your new computer.
though, im not sure if this is true, but i think that when you sync your ipod to a new computer it will take the items from your ipod and put it on itunes, like when you purchase something on your ipod and it gets automatically transfered, but don't take my word for it.

If you bought Windows 8 on a DVD, you can transfer the license from your PC to the MacBook Air, always that you remove Windows 8 from your old PC.
If Windows 8 came with the PC, you can use that license only with your PC, not with the Mac
